I know they are all different and do things well in their own way but at the same time there are just so many packs and it's a little overwhelming deciding on which one to stick with and grind out. I'm pretty sure Darkness Falls is the most popular one but I'm not sure.
I'm in the same boat, I already have eight overhaul mods and this one makes for nine and it's hard to decide which one to play, I was settling on Undead Legacy until I found this mod

Hey Joseph Yeah, someone drops that question on me every now and then :) Ultimately I tend to avoid answering the question as I am unsure myself. There are three overhaul mods that I would prefer to play. However, there are things about each of them that I enjoy or dislike. None of them completely check off all my "likes". Age of Oblivion is probably the most fun with exploring. Certainly very interesting POI's and monsters. Your toughest challenge will come from DF. Apocalypse Now mod is close with the tough monster challenge. I did play Undead Legacy some years ago, but not recently, so it is actually my next overhaul mod to look at in depth. EDIT: Actually let me clarify that. I did play UL a bit last year, but gave up as I remembered what a drag it was with the grind for resources. So I stopped playing. This time around I will give it a much better chance.
I think he has just started a series using Rebirth Mod. I saw it a few months ago and thought it was pretty interesting. It looked very much like something he would use to create a narrative and had enough unique features to make a 7days series really interesting.
Yes, there are large changes. Pipermac has also asked me to do one. It is coming soon. I think the most recent update that dropped today for Age of Oblivion is probably the last of the compatibility updates for Alpha 21, so he will probably do a stable release in the coming week or so.
Glad you are :) Have you upgraded your cloning station to get more advanced items? I am not quite sure I understand your question? Once you start the cloning process it goes through usually three stages and you then open the incubator after it is done.
@@SnowBee When I did the pet cloning quest it gave me something called resource incomplete clone AOO. It says you then combine that with animal DNA which I have, But I cannot find what piece of equip to use to do that.. The human clone came straight out as a spawner.
Yeah, I would go with those if you are starting. It is the start that new players get quite "shocked" with. New process and mechanics means you are not really just playing, you are still figuring stuff out and can get killed. If you usually play on higher levels, then certainly go with Warrior, there are no major changes that will mean Warrior is considerably different from vanilla Warrior difficulty. As mentioned the loot can stay at 100%. Even with "walk" on for the zombies, you will still get some of the custom ones jogging. That is just how it goes, and is part of the mod. I turned my blood moon zombie count down to 16 on my first blood moon, then up to 32 later.
Helpful information for a first time user but can you tell us where to find Kyberium crystals? The description of the item nor its quest gives any indication of how to acquire it.

The Resurrection Table is broken I think, I crafted one but the only option I get is to pick it up, right clicking just tries to smash it to pieces even with the required corpses and potions in the hot bar.
I have only done resurrection with current stable version, 6.5. So I am unsure if you are maybe on 6.8 Experimental. With 6.5 it did work with me. Once the resurrection process starts (putting a corpse into the table), you should not be able to pick up the table until the process is done and you remove the completed abomination. Which version are you on?
@@SnowBee I was trying to use any corpse I found on the ground, it works if I specifically use the corpse that says" Zombie Corpse" won't let me use no others though.
You will see the recommendation is using the recommended maps. In 6.5 stable, it is the 8 or 10k maps. In 6.8 Experimental, there is a 10k only. If you wish to use the RWG for your map, then unfortunately you will have to rely on RNG to make sure all the custom POI's are in. So it can work, but you often will not get the various POI's required. Still you can give it a go, but it is not recommended.
hey, I found a vehicle that has a weapon mounted with a laser pointer on it. but i do not know how to shoot this weapon. is the weapon just for decoration or is there a way to actually make these fire at zombies?
Check my version 7 update video. I mentioned the laser vehicle in that. You press Q to fire if I recall. The ammo is put into your inventory, and it uses a regular ammo. I am unsure which ammo, but I may have mentioned it in the video.
This mod looks awesome and thanks for the guide (but it doesn't have the 100's of doors of alpha 21! What a "shame" that its got more zombies than doors. #7 doors to buy)
Heyo, trying this mod out. Can't seem to find a way to level up the quality to craft the M82 Barrett. I can't see what I can be missing. None of the gun mags help, nor does the AOO weapon crafting. Is it... loot only for better quality?
Hi RookieEyes Sorry for the late reply. As far as I know, the M82 is supposed to be tied with Weaponsmith for being unlocked. After that I think deadeye upgrades the gun. Unfortunately that is all I know for now :( I don't know if this is something that has not been picked up during testing. Possibly comment on the AOO discord?

Hey EG I can only suggest you try the AOO Discord. The link should be in my description. However, I don't think they have a MP server channel as such. So, maybe just ask. I have a feeling it takes a lot of resources to run an AOO map and MP adds even more requirements. For that reason it could be a problem for many wanting to run a dedicated server.
Hey Flippity I have not had that experience. I know there is likely some RNG built in, but I have never had the process fail. The only RNG I have is on what is produced. Cloning certainly can have failures, but I have not seen it happen with Resurrection. Yeah, default settings are fine. It won't make a difference to the monsters being thrown at you at the start. The mini boss monsters will be still be tougher and as long as you don't bump to survivalist or insane, your gamestage will go up gradually.
My original video was 6.5, though most is fine for 6.8. I did mention that there would be a change to the quests, but that is about it. The new version 7 which is for Alpha 21, and is going to go stable soon, that is very different in numerous POI's and workstations.

There is a switch behind or inside a block if I recall. The block is hidden. I think it was in the room just next to the gate or door to the next locked area.
@@SnowBee I found it thank you....the switch for the drawbridge is in the tower where the really deep hole is. it invisible and will show up once you go down the hole but use a ladder to get down there are spiders down there. when you come back up it will be up on the wall

I can't seem to figure out how to get in any vehicles. I have a bunch of vehicle keys, and can unlock vehicles...but that's it. Also, can't pick up scooters or rickshaws.
I think scooters and rickshaws are freely accessible? Having to pick them is strange. In version 7, once you unlock a vehicle I think you pick it up, then put it down again. I am sure you have done that already, so it should be fine from that point. In version 7 you also go to a vehicle trader and convert vehicles into vehicle tokens. There is a demolisher or token machine in the courtyard area of the vehicle trader.
@@SnowBee Thanks for the reply. Every AOO vehicle shows "locked" then I use a key to unlock it, and then the only option is "Search" for the last 50 vehicles I've tried. I'm not sure what version I'm using but I downloaded the latest one from the mod site.
@@fatally_errored2512 Okay, set your 7 Days to Die game to alpha 21.2 stable (your 7 Days to Die Steam properties > betas). Then use that copy with the mod again. I would also suggest you download the mod to make sure that wasn't corrupted.
@@SnowBee I verified that I am using the latest AOO V7.10.xxx and also alpha 21.2 (b37). I even redownloaded AOO and created a new directory and started a new game and it's doing the same thing. After about 10 min of gameplay, I found a few keys "CarKeyAOO" and unlocked 2 vehicles with them...and all I can do is grab whatever loot is in there and search over and over. All of the AOO vehicles act as regular vanilla vehicles after I unlock them. I usually don't have any issues with any mods for games but this one is driving me crazy.
@@SnowBee After many days of playing, I FINALLY figured out the system of what is happening...and I'm not sure if this is exactly the intended design haha. What I realized is that I have to completely empty the inventory of the vehicle before it tells me I can "pick it up". I tested this with MANY vehicles by even leaving in 1 item, considering the message for "pick it up" would replace the "search the vehicle" message so it would need to be emptied. Thank you for ALL of your help and suggestions @SnowBee! You have some of the best, most detailed, and entertaining gaming videos out there!!!
@@SnowBee im aware of this but i wish there was a faster way. Sucks that say the autosorting box cost 10 crystals and other stuff costs upto 60+ but you are stuck with luck of the draw of finding a random 5 or maybe 10 in a large body of water just swimming around. This is tedious as if you were making one brick an hour from the worlds slowest forge lol. Mod author needs a redo on that junk

Hi all, we are playing alpha 21 age of Oblivion. In different parts of the worlds there are cars on the road. Some of the cars we are able to open with the blue keys but then they say broken we've tried various ways of trying to repair it but fail do you have any suggestions
Yeah, that sounds like a bug. Have you installed the most recent version? There have been many of the test versions, so that is why I am wondering if you have the latest?

Hey TSO If I recall you must have 7.62mm ammo in your inventory (not the jeep), then I think it is the Q key that you press to shoot. Aiming is with the cursor. You can configure the controls as well under the vehicles.
ive installed and reinstalled this mod 5 times, I load in and cant interact with anything!! this is the only mod that does this... am I doing something wrong?
Do you know the version you are using of Alpha 21? That problem you have sounds like an alpha version issue. You can check on their discord to see which alpha version you need.
@@Peter.H.A.Petersen On the new 8k map, if I recall it is far north. Past the mountains in the snow. It has been a while that I looked at it, but I think there was a big sea or lake, and then mountains. It is on the other side of the mountains and I think there is only one way through it, or it could be you need a flying vehicle to get over the mountains.
Oh okay, sorry, I read the other message first. It is the north of the map. Beyond the snow mountains, and you likely need to fly over them as they are too high to climb. I can give you exact coordinates if required? I assume this is for the 8k map?
just tried this mod and stopped playing in an hour. worst overhaul ive played so far. i had a game breaking bug in the first 10 minutes that had me restart my game again, enemies are too abundant and make no sense (a bunny with 125 health that deals 25 damage per hit, a beefy huge zombie with 150 hp that is easily killed), every new mechanic is unintuitive and with many place holder items, weapon sights are terrible and dont even line up with where the gun shoots from a few i tested. the only good thing about this mod is the enemy models being kinda cool.
Well, a lot of people don't mind the very nutty and extreme monster variation, and of course you are correct, there are certainly players that don't like it. In the context of the story, it makes sense, however, the dev just wanting variety is also a good reason :) Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I don't mind them. Was quite a change and kept me guessing when I first played.

I like the mod, but i really hate most of the additional sounds. They sound like recorded with a mic from the 80s .... And sorry, wtf is the sound effect when drinking boiled water?! A voice that says something like "electrolyte"? No idea ... jumpscare. Every time i drink.
Yes, I think it is the most hated effect. However, the dev has commented on it and says he wants people to not use it and the sound effect is to try get players to not use and move on asap. But yeah, it is the only one I never really got used to at the start.
this is not a bad mod, but it's got too much stuff in it, i know the modder is going all out, but i would love just a farming mod, this one just feels bloated to me, hence why i dont use it anymore, while it's great, i can use some mods with it, while others i cant, so there is a -/+ to this mod, but dont let my views influence your views of this mod, just my 2 bits worth, thats all.
Yes, it is pretty top heavy with items, sound effects and monsters, but you are correct, it is probably a matter of preference where some enjoy that over the top crazy stuff. I know others do find it the same as you, just too much. Still, I certainly enjoy the mod and find it quite fun.

Are you asking me to create a server, or asking me if one can create a server that is running 24/7? Yes, a dedicated server would do that. However, it must be running all the time, so using your own pc maybe a problem. Many will rent a server from certain hosting companies and it will have the desired mod loaded. Not all mods are hosted by all companies.
@@Cebulak2137 Then you need to keep your pc running 24/7, or get your own dedicated server to run somewhere 24/7. Otherwise, you would likely rent a server. If it is Age of Oblivion, then you can check out their discord as I think there is at least one or two rental hosts that have Age of Oblivion included.

Resurrection tables work only about 70% of the time. So only 30% of the time does the process result in a zombie being spawnable. No idea why.

My original video was 6.5, though most is fine for 6.8. I did mention that there would be a change to the quests, but that is about it.
The new version 7 which is for Alpha 21, and is going to go stable soon, that is very different in numerous POI's and workstations.

where do I find the switch to get into the skeleton king castle ?
There is a switch behind or inside a block if I recall. The block is hidden. I think it was in the room just next to the gate or door to the next locked area.
@@SnowBee I found it thank you....the switch for the drawbridge is in the tower where the really deep hole is. it invisible and will show up once you go down the hole but use a ladder to get down there are spiders down there. when you come back up it will be up on the wall

Can i generate a new map (6k size) not the premade will it work ?
Yes, though it is not recommended. There are various custom POI's that will mean the story won't work. They may or may not be on the map.
I can't seem to figure out how to get in any vehicles. I have a bunch of vehicle keys, and can unlock vehicles...but that's it. Also, can't pick up scooters or rickshaws.
I think scooters and rickshaws are freely accessible? Having to pick them is strange. In version 7, once you unlock a vehicle I think you pick it up, then put it down again. I am sure you have done that already, so it should be fine from that point. In version 7 you also go to a vehicle trader and convert vehicles into vehicle tokens. There is a demolisher or token machine in the courtyard area of the vehicle trader.
@@SnowBee Thanks for the reply. Every AOO vehicle shows "locked" then I use a key to unlock it, and then the only option is "Search" for the last 50 vehicles I've tried. I'm not sure what version I'm using but I downloaded the latest one from the mod site.
@@fatally_errored2512 Okay, set your 7 Days to Die game to alpha 21.2 stable (your 7 Days to Die Steam properties > betas). Then use that copy with the mod again. I would also suggest you download the mod to make sure that wasn't corrupted.
@@SnowBee I verified that I am using the latest AOO V7.10.xxx and also alpha 21.2 (b37). I even redownloaded AOO and created a new directory and started a new game and it's doing the same thing. After about 10 min of gameplay, I found a few keys "CarKeyAOO" and unlocked 2 vehicles with them...and all I can do is grab whatever loot is in there and search over and over. All of the AOO vehicles act as regular vanilla vehicles after I unlock them. I usually don't have any issues with any mods for games but this one is driving me crazy.
@@SnowBee After many days of playing, I FINALLY figured out the system of what is happening...and I'm not sure if this is exactly the intended design haha. What I realized is that I have to completely empty the inventory of the vehicle before it tells me I can "pick it up". I tested this with MANY vehicles by even leaving in 1 item, considering the message for "pick it up" would replace the "search the vehicle" message so it would need to be emptied. Thank you for ALL of your help and suggestions @SnowBee! You have some of the best, most detailed, and entertaining gaming videos out there!!!
Faster way to get kyburium?
Unfortunately I don't know of any fast way to obtain them. They are underwater, so you have to swim with the scuba gear and pick them up.
@@SnowBee im aware of this but i wish there was a faster way. Sucks that say the autosorting box cost 10 crystals and other stuff costs upto 60+ but you are stuck with luck of the draw of finding a random 5 or maybe 10 in a large body of water just swimming around. This is tedious as if you were making one brick an hour from the worlds slowest forge lol. Mod author needs a redo on that junk

Hi all, we are playing alpha 21 age of Oblivion. In different parts of the worlds there are cars on the road. Some of the cars we are able to open with the blue keys but then they say broken we've tried various ways of trying to repair it but fail do you have any suggestions
Yeah, that sounds like a bug. Have you installed the most recent version? There have been many of the test versions, so that is why I am wondering if you have the latest?

If I recall you must have 7.62mm ammo in your inventory (not the jeep), then I think it is the Q key that you press to shoot. Aiming is with the cursor. You can configure the controls as well under the vehicles.

ive installed and reinstalled this mod 5 times, I load in and cant interact with anything!! this is the only mod that does this... am I doing something wrong?
Do you know the version you are using of Alpha 21? That problem you have sounds like an alpha version issue. You can check on their discord to see which alpha version you need.

@@Peter.H.A.Petersen On the new 8k map, if I recall it is far north. Past the mountains in the snow. It has been a while that I looked at it, but I think there was a big sea or lake, and then mountains. It is on the other side of the mountains and I think there is only one way through it, or it could be you need a flying vehicle to get over the mountains.

It is the north of the map. Beyond the snow mountains, and you likely need to fly over them as they are too high to climb. I can give you exact coordinates if required? I assume this is for the 8k map?

just tried this mod and stopped playing in an hour. worst overhaul ive played so far. i had a game breaking bug in the first 10 minutes that had me restart my game again, enemies are too abundant and make no sense (a bunny with 125 health that deals 25 damage per hit, a beefy huge zombie with 150 hp that is easily killed), every new mechanic is unintuitive and with many place holder items, weapon sights are terrible and dont even line up with where the gun shoots from a few i tested.
the only good thing about this mod is the enemy models being kinda cool.
Well, a lot of people don't mind the very nutty and extreme monster variation, and of course you are correct, there are certainly players that don't like it. In the context of the story, it makes sense, however, the dev just wanting variety is also a good reason :)
Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I don't mind them. Was quite a change and kept me guessing when I first played.

There is a health skill under the Oblivion Skill tree. You get a lot of health by adding points to it. There is also a Stamina option.
I like the mod, but i really hate most of the additional sounds. They sound like recorded with a mic from the 80s .... And sorry, wtf is the sound effect when drinking boiled water?! A voice that says something like "electrolyte"? No idea ... jumpscare. Every time i drink.
Yes, I think it is the most hated effect. However, the dev has commented on it and says he wants people to not use it and the sound effect is to try get players to not use and move on asap. But yeah, it is the only one I never really got used to at the start.

this is not a bad mod, but it's got too much stuff in it, i know the modder is going all out, but i would love just a farming mod, this one just feels bloated to me, hence why i dont use it anymore, while it's great, i can use some mods with it, while others i cant, so there is a -/+ to this mod, but dont let my views influence your views of this mod, just my 2 bits worth, thats all.
Yes, it is pretty top heavy with items, sound effects and monsters, but you are correct, it is probably a matter of preference where some enjoy that over the top crazy stuff. I know others do find it the same as you, just too much.
Still, I certainly enjoy the mod and find it quite fun.

Are you asking me to create a server, or asking me if one can create a server that is running 24/7?
Yes, a dedicated server would do that. However, it must be running all the time, so using your own pc maybe a problem. Many will rent a server from certain hosting companies and it will have the desired mod loaded. Not all mods are hosted by all companies.
