jolyne in prison: this cant be happening i dont belong here jotaro in prison: everywhere i go i end up hurting people so i locked myself up forever to ensure i dont hurt any one else anyway another beer star platinum
Jotaro went from a delinquent who skipped school and was hated by teachers to one of the most respected marine biologists in the world That’s badass enough
@@pompiliuparnaiescu6990 Actually Jotaro just got Star Platinum at the begining of part 3. When he got Star Platinum he decided to stay in prison beside the police saying he acted in self defense. His delinquent persona was before Star Platinum but he still atended school and always got good grades beside not getting along with *one* of his teachers.
Fun fact: Okuyasu is one of the only antagonist who didn't insult Josuke's hair because they have the same hairstyle, It's just that Josuke has more hair then Okuyasu.
One of the best things that Araki did with Jotaro was that he took his "cool tsundere" attitude and actually made it into a flaw that prevented him from properly expressing himself to his wife and daughter. That shit turned Jotaro around for me so much.
Ikr, and I was surprised when I found out Jotaro actually broke off with his family (though it was to keep them safe). Jotaro Kujo, going through a divorce.
Part 6 spoilers And the fact that he saved Jolyne over the gang AND entire universe possibly (he never knew Pucci died after) Even if the events played out differently, i'm 100% sure we would see Jotaro's soft side after

@@antirockin5553 yeah but star platinum threw a building at dio which looked like a church or probably more like Muslim church I dunno what they are called
You know what is cool little detail? In some part he had flashbacks of part 3 and in his memories HE WAS SMILING while on the adventures, where in the originals he had blank expression. It shows how much jotaro lives inside
Fun fact!: Araki states in Jotaro’s bio that he doesn’t show his emotions because Jotaro just straight up thinks he’s extremely readable. He just, thinks people can tell what he’s thinking or feeling, which contributes to why his emotions aren’t obvious. (For part 3) It even says that that causes miscommunications between him and other people which led to this delinquent persona.
@@aidelai4098 well, remember in Oingo Boingo arc, it is implied that Jotaro actually played some wacky tricks with his cigarettes If that's not goofy I don't know what that is Edit: also if you look carefully, in the anime Jotaro almost always smiles everytime he summoned Star Platinum
I feel like Jotaro is very good at reading people emotionally, but not exactly all that good at consoling people in some areas. He’s never really felt inferior until the DIO fight and even then the reason he won is his confidence and constantly outmaneuvering DIO and outsmarting him, he’s more or less a “show don’t tell” or “actions speak louder than words” sorta guy
Someone in the comments of another video was talking about how Jotaro should’ve gotten a cloud ghost telling Jolyne about she can do this. That’s not it works. Again, actions speak louder than words, and when Jotaro chose her over ZA WARUDO, it definitely spoke volumes. Plus, Jotaro’s sacrifice led to Jolyne’s sacrifice which led to Pucci’s death which led to a better version of the Phantom Blood universe (literally the exact same except Pucci never existed, so for sure better), which also led to Emporio’s probable depression and PTSD.

Was there not also an issue with assuming that people know what he thinks and means, causing a lack of communication?
Pokémaniac Guquiz I forgot where that was mentioned by Araki, but that also does imply that Jotaro is on the Autism spectrum (I think, I’m kinda hab -2 iq).
Jotaro part 3 : smart but rude in the outside but he cares inside Jotaro part 4 : matures, unemotional most of the time, veteran Jotaro part 6 : caring, basically a ᗪᗩᗪ
Something that I think most people from the overseas part of the fandom don’t really think about or know about is that Jotaro especially in part 4 feels like the personification of all the good parts of a Japanese father, while part 6 Jotaro shows all the bad parts of one. In part 4 he was always there for his allies, never really gets angry at his party, always knew what buttons to push to make them understand what parts they need to work on. And he never even stops working, he is the unbreakable wall of the group. In part 6 though he’s rarely there, he was never there, he never connected to Jolyne as much as with the Morioh warriors. He never showed his emotions with his OWN family, the fact that he was the unbreakable wall was the problem, an almost absent father that loves his own daughter didn’t even connect with her. But in the end, his last moments shows us that he believes that his own daughter has grown up, and didn’t need him anymore, a bittersweet moment for any parent that loves his child. Man I love Jotaro... I miss him.
Ugh man yeah I hated too when Jotaro disappeared from Part 6 not like Hermes, I don't know *because Whitesnake stole his stand and memory disk leaving him unconscious and most of the part goes about Jolyne trying to get back the disks* for no reason.
Remember that one time in stardust crusaders when jotaro was laughing like hell with kakyoin and polnareff because of how dumb the opponents trick was...
I like to imagine that when Jotaro went underwater to fight the Blue Moon user, there was a moment where he was like: “Woah...that’s a cool fish” “Oh man there’s another cool fish” “Some dolphins too. Huh, those look neat” “OH SHIT IS THAT A STARFISH?!” And this laid the seeds of inspiration for him to take an interest in marine biology
He wrote about starfish because of star platinum star fish star platinum.ever since he got star platinum his life seriously changed ever since he got star platinum
part 3 jotaro: 17 year old edgy teen with a body like a fridge part 4 jotaro: 28 year old tall guy with a regular body and PTSD part 5 jotaro: part 4 jotaro but skinnier part 6 jotaro: *dad*
Watching Jotaro die during the fight with Pucci made me tear up. He had to choose between saving the world right then and there but lose Jolyne, or have faith that she could somehow beat Pucci and give her the best head start he could. And he chose to believe in her, to let go and not have to bear the weight of The World (pun intended) by himself anymore.
My name is Jotaro Kujo, I am 28 years old. I live in Morioh Grand Hotel as of currently. I am married and have a four year old daughter back in America. I came here to do my research on a specific type of starfish found commonly in Morioh, and I get home whenever I want, as I am a responsible adult. I do occasionally smoke and drink. I'm in bed by 12pm, and make sure I get as little sleep as possible, no matter what. After having a glass of coffee and doing 20 minutes of situps before going to bed, I barely ever fall sleep at all, as the screams and cries of my old comrades keep echoing in my head. But like a strong man, I wake up pretending I have no fatigue or stress whatsoever. I was told I have many psychological issues at my last check up, yet I refuse to receive any treatment. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to have a peaceful life. I distract myself by fighting enemy stand users alongside my technical uncle, Josuke, and his friends, like Koichi or Okuyasu. Fighting others can distract me from my issues that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with the world, and I know that is what brings me peace. Although, if I were to fight, I would never, EVER, lose to anyone. Not again...
We wouldn’t have jotaro or joseph because lisa lisa would’ve just had a normal life no hamon no meeting with joestars, but ceaser wouldn’t have died in the same way and the og Zeppeli would’ve lived longer
All of the zeppeli’s fates are to help the joestars and put their lives on the line for them. eg: literally all the zeppelis even gyro if you haven’t read sbr and if your reading it sorry man.
There are pros and cons to this, cons Some jojo's and characters didn't exist also some events didn't happen, pros We didn't have to experience those sad character deaths(still sad about Jotaro,Ceaser,Gyro,Abbacchio and Avdol's death)
Jotaro is really sad for me, imagine growing up without a father, your mother suddenly getting ill, you having to save her life while risking your own with your friends, some of your friends die, and you have yo deal with the fact that you have the same power as the man who murdered 3 of your friends. Everytime he uses Star Platinum The World he has to remember that The World is the same power that caused the death of his friends. I just feel so bad for the guy, and even in Part 4 and 6 I feel he still struggles to express his emotions even though he’s better than he was in Part 3. I hope that Speedwagon money got him some good therapy.
i really dont get why so many comments act like jotaro is this depressed loser that apparently would break down in tears when he uses The World. it simply isn't jotaro. he avenged his friends and cured Holly. He doesn't want to fight so he didn't train his time-stop ability. He repeatedly uses it in Part 4 and Part 6 without even mentioning DIO or his friends, he's not some sort of Vietnam war veteran that has permanent PTSD.
@@ajojofann I mean you can interpret the character that way, I just interpret him differently. A lot of my friends and family are similarly stoic and act like him, which is why I associate his story with a lot of underlying emotions, because the people I know in real life who act that way are one hair off from a mental breakdown, they just don’t show it. The fun part of being a fan of something is how people interpret a character differently, I just think he’s a less interesting character if you take him at face value and don’t think deeply about him. Araki doesn’t delve deep into his characters often, especially the main ones, we never see a deep look into Giorno for example. Which is why often the fans come up with their own ideas, especially fans like me who prefer character based writing in general. But that’s not everyone’s thing and I get it but don’t rain on everyone else’s parade because you don’t believe in death of the author or fans having a little bit of fun with established characters.
i really wish people would stop misinterpreting jotaro as a battle ready meansss emotionless guy. he's more of an emotionally stunted teenager who just doesn't show affection openly. just because he doesn't show it openly doesn't mean it's not there. think about every stand battle and fight and life or death situation he's in during stardust crusaders. think about the dio fight. the very reason WHY he's there is explanatory to his true nature. he's there to save his mom. he did all that SHIT, to save his mom. that's how much he loves her. jotaro is a character that i think is widely misinterpreted due to his outer shell but all it takes is looking a little deeper past that to see his true colors. he's nice to kids, his favorite food is his moms cooking and even though it's subtle, he gets upset when his friends and family are hurt and is actively doing everything he can to save his mother from dying. he's a really good person deep down. just because he's a mean guy doesn't make him without emotion!!! and his true core that people overlook is the main reason i like him in the first place.
Yeah, like the man said he was inspired by Clint Eastwood, someone who had a tough outer persona but didn't show any weakness because enemies could pick up on that. Jotaro captures that persona perfectly.
That is who Jotaro Kujo is. He's not edgy because it's "cool" or "badass". Emotionally distant people are ALWAYS like that because they once cared too much and lost it, creating a feeling of overwhelming loss that stays with them their entire lives. It's a self defense mechanism. The less you care about something, the less grief when you lose it. Something happened to Jotaro in his early years. Maybe a problem with his always absent father, maybe a betrayal of a friend, maybe even a death. That scarred him and he became that way. The events of SC, where he lost 3 important friends, only added to it. And he had to live with that his entire life. He killed Dio in order to save his mother, and that cursed him with a life of dealing with constant threats of revenge for what he did. He was not able to enjoy a life of love with his wife and daughter. Maybe he could have found a better answer and not abandon them completely, but the life he lived and what he learned from it led him to protect them by simply not being around them. But here's the thing. As much as he can try, Jotaro can never change who he really is. He loves his family more than anything. And he will do anything to protect them, just like he embarked on a very difficult crusade to save his mom as a 17 year old boy. When forced to make the choice of saving the entire universe or his daughter, he will ALWAYS choose to save his daughter. Jotaro can't live with sacrificing his daughter for the greater good. She means a lot more than the entire universe to him. So he saved her. Of course he did.

@@dabezt5926 Finally, someone who truly loves and appreciates Jotaro and understands him more than just his external appearance. Can we be Jojo friends??
Jotaro has always had a genuine heart, he cared for those that surround him and he definitely showed that in stone ocean During the 80s he’s a teen and the “cool” guy so that’s the attitude you’re going to get from that part From 4-6 he’s much more calmer acting like a father to josuke in certain situations and a mentor to koichi.
Jotaro doesn’t show feelings to others in case there is an enemy near by, he doesn’t want them to die because it would actually hurt him, so he acts like he doesn’t give a shit so he/she doesn’t die
Like you don’t understand how pissed off I get when Jotaro gets called “the worst father” When he is like buccirati’s dad level of “the best dad in jojo” People harp on Jotaro leaving Jolyne, because they refuse to look at a single page of stone ocean for even a second, and only hears from memes. Jolyne forgave Jotaro because she knew he had to distance himself to protect her. Once again, people miss the point by harping on it. Jolyne is the only person that Jotaro freaks out for when she gets hurt. And people refuse to accept that fact for some reason
I don't get it. Protect her from what? Why is it that he couldn't be there for her? People say that it was because his enemmies were after him, but even so, they knew who his daughter was anyways and did her what we know. It doesn't make any sense for me, he could have actually protected her by being with her, I just don't see how leaving her alone with her mother was better (?)
@@analisamelculo85it was to show his character trait of doing anything to protect those he cares of, despite appearing as menacing. If he were to be hunted after enemy stand users (which he was likely to), then his character traits would lead him to prioritise keeping those he cares of safe from collateral damage or being held hostage. Being that none of the enemy stand users knew of Jolyne, Jotaro figured that if he were to leave her with his wife, anyone after him couldnt use Jolyne as leverage. Dont even get me started on the most important point of stand users, and its that they attract other stand users. Jotaro figured you that such stand users would be Dio’s subordinates. Remember how he knew the contents of Dio’s Diary? At some point , it mentioned Dio making a very good friend he could trust to assist him. He prob figured that person would be after him, and he didnt want them to use Jolyne as leverage for him to give them what they want. So he left Jolyne with her mom, so as to not put her through it. Once again, Jotaro’s character trait of wanting to protect those he cares of.
Jotaro literally became the face of the JOJO Francise. Though he strongly resembles Kenshiro ( no coincidence), he stands out as another iconic Shonen Jump character with incredible growth and maturity.
@@vovabars1234 in terms of design, all the Jostars resemble Fist of the North Star characters( til Part 4 and up) but this was due to Araki wanting to put a spin on the " Masculine" archetype in manga. @@LowellLucasJr. I wouldnt say they all do-muscle doesn't equal FotNS If in part 1 and 2 it the inspiration was clear, in mid-late part 3 Araki did develop a distinct artstyle with his sharp lines and unique body structure
@@vovabars1234 trust me, part 3 was the most evident of FOTNS. Aside from Jotaro resembling Ken with his hat and school uniform, Dio resembles Shin ( Kenshiros adversary), Silver Chariots face resembled Jagi ( 1 of Kenshiros older brothers) and Polneriff resembles one of the goons Kenshiro battles from several rival gangs. Its pretty cool looking at it from a design perspective. Also, the " Masculine Parody " I referred to was poking fun of the archetype. Jotaro is in every part: 1. In the OP 2. At the very very end 3. Main char. 4. Side char. 5. Briefly shown 6. Side char. 7. Shown in part for storytelling 8. Literally half of the main char.
Also Dio is a vampire and that's why his time stop could increase as much as he wants, but Jotaro is human, a lot of people always seems to forget that
Dio was an immortal vampire while Jotaro was only a 17 year old human. Plus unlike Dio, Jotaro wasn't power hungry. He just wanted to live normally, that's why he returned to school after killing dio and earned a degree. It's sad that his life took a turn and it was his fate as a Joestar.
Ugh I feel so sad for JOTARO I wish the ending of part 8 goes to the previous UNIVERSE and in part 9 the original JoJo bloodline Is revived but I know that can't happen but I just wish original JoJo bloodline comes back 😢
I mean... We might have some hope of a bit of the original universe with Giorno but its unlikely, as the story ended with part 6, they dont seem related at all.
He had a rough childhood. He lost friends and had to pick up a fight that he was never apart of. He’d had no connection to other joestars and didn’t care because life was ok. The fact that he matured, and risked everything for his baby girl? Heartwarming... That is such a beautiful thing becuase you can look at part 6... and then look at part 3 and you can see his life, ups and downs and how much his characters grown and I love it, it’s something that araki is amazing at with Joseph too, that moment in the pool with josuke was so heartwarming “I just wanted too look cool in front of my son” he’s still the same old Joseph joestar that fought along side his best friend and it’s beautiful.. Idk what the point of me writing that was. But yeah .... have a good day guys 😂❤️
Stardust crusader. Diver Down is actually really OP, but like with The Hand, it’s held back by its user since Anasui literally has nothing inside his brain but Jolyne.
@@amirgarcia547 He's actually pretty smart, as a kid he tinkered with random shit all the time and could perfectly deconstruct then perfectly reconstruct a bunch of items. He uses his stand pretty creatively (IE: Using his stand as monkey bars to climb walls, or turning his opponent's legs into springs) and is a good strategist, planning out the entire fight against Pucci that would've beaten him if not for, y'know, JOTARO. I'd consider Anasui the Kakyoin of part 6, great stand, great user, but underutilized.
I like that you did this video, I hate it when people say Jotaro has no personality or that he's boring. He definitely is a bit more subtle than say Joseph and definitely Jonathan, which makes him pretty interesting imo.
Likely because Jotaro is the most featured JoJo and comes after the charming Joseph from part 2 which kinda forming a judgement especially not everyone actually put effort to thinking about how the character written.
Most JoJo fans dont get subtlety, a good amount of them just see jojo as the "epic fights and haha bizarre goofs" show, in the best jojo characters vote vid Kaleb did Jotaro and Giorno didnt get that many votes, meanwhile Josuke got lots, probably because hes not very subtle in terms of personality
Yeah I still think giorno and josuke should of been in part 6. Still hopefully after jojolion they continue to use gappy in other parts if it continues.
Best part about Jotaro, he even rejected Anasui’s proposals to marry Jolyne but not answering but holding Jolyne away from him and giving him the look that pretty much says “No”. Jotaro knew that Anasui was insane and not mentally stable. Besides Jolyne had absolutely no interest in him, yet he single-mindedly pursued her like an obsessive maniac. Well... let’s be honest, he is a homicidal creep. And Jotaro knew by looking at him and by hearing those dumb ass words, what this man was all about and he knew he wasn’t right in the head. Good thing Jolyne never had any interest in him or else this would have been a lot harder for Jotaro.
Kronos Gaming That was deemed a continuity error cuz Araki did say that he made a lot of mistakes with the later half of the Made In Heaven story arc and said he wasn’t pleased with how it turned out during it’s initial publish. Which is why he made the “Universe Reset” ending at the last minute to “fixed those mistakes”. Which is why you see their alternate universe versions end up together cuz that made more sense as to why they would be together as they had different lives and personalities. But do keep in mind, Irene and Annakiss are different people in terms of personality. I mean it never made sense as to why she would wanna do that cuz all through out the manga she has never showed any interest in him. She was mostly oblivious to his advances and would be creeped out by his behavior. She has even caught him trying to sneak a kiss off of her many times. And she slapped or punched him in the process. And for her to out of no where without any character development or build up to now wanna accept his proposal just out of the blue? Yeah that made no sense. Even for JoJo standards. This didn’t sit well with fans either. In fact fans deemed the Universe Reset as a “cheap” way to get out of his mistakes with the previous chapters. Araki did say he was mentally exhausted when he wrote Part 6. Which was why he wanted to end the JoJo series for good. Fans all agree the ending was the worst. Plus in the story of Eyes Of Heaven, Jolyne was still not interested in Anasui in the games story. And even 1988 Jotaro didn’t like that guy. Plus it seemed unlikely to happen, anyway. Cuz Jotaro didn’t approve and wouldn’t want that maniac around her. But it was unlike Jolyne to just instantly out of the blue now want to. You can see why Part 6 was a failure to a majority of the fan base. It’s many inconsistencies and lack of proper character development. Which is why Araki said he will not make Part 6 into an anime cuz he didn’t want to show his failed series in anime form and rather skip ahead. But Araki did write Eyes Of Heaven’s story. And in the games story, Jolyne never had any interest in Anasui just like in the majority of the manga. And would not even pay attention to what he says or even care. So that remained consistent with her character. And 1987 Jotaro seemed have intimidated him to back off. Plus he inadvertently altered all the timelines in the multiverse after killing DIO Heaven Ascension as Kakyoin, Avdol and Iggy are alive after DIO’s defeat. Plus in the games ending, you see him meet Koichi like in Part 4, but with Jolyne as a little girl with him. Implying he is now raising Jolyne this time after meeting Jolyne from 2012 and promises to be be a better father to her and be there for her. So this changes her life. Whether you accept the game as canon or not is up to you. Cuz many fans now believe it is canon to the multiverse. Araki seemed to have implied that.
@@Shadowrulzalways oh, yeah that makes sense. I was kinda shocked when out of the blue she said this, but i can totally see why this would be a continuity error
Kronos Gaming Yeah plus Jotaro would have never allowed this. He would Ora Ora him. I mean Jotaro would want better for his daughter and Anasui is still mentally unstable.
As a person who dislikes emotional displays or even explaining my "feelings" and thoughts, I deeply relate to this character. When I watched Stardust Crusaders, I knew immediately what his character would be and I really like him. He's the best Jojo for me.
Jotaro gets put in a lot of situations where he always has to do something else. It gives him quite a bit of character development and traits, which I think is why he’s popular
although it seems the westerns don't really get it and call him a "bland character" and a "mary sue" (though admittedly the time stop ability was a bit of a big asspull).
@@passingbycommentor I agree and I actually quite enjoy Jotarp with the character. The problem I have with the time stop ability though is that it didn't really feel like it was foreshadowed well
@@passingbycommentor I also used to believe in that theory, but if that was the case, why didn’t Star Platinum adapt when he was fighting Pucci? Why didn’t Star Platinum adapt when he was fighting the rat? It loses a bit of its credibility if it isn’t consistent. Personally, I think Jotaro had the same ability as DIO because in a way, he’s a parallel to DIO. Another comment on this video noted all the parallels between the two, and I read a really old comment noting that perhaps they both stop time because it reflects their composure and calm under pressure to strategize ways out of their situation. To me, that makes it less asspully and also makes more sense than Star Platinum just being able to learn new skills on the fly just to survive, which imo is still kinda asspully.
@@passingbycommentor Thanks for elaborating! Loved the Pokemon analogy too, it really helped clarify things. The theory definitely makes more sense now since it remains consistent. Personally, I’d have called it specialization or evolution, because adaptation usually has an “always changing without loss” connotation to it, but it’s semantics at this point.
I love Jotaro, I don't understand the hate towards him. If you don't like Jotaro please tell me why. I'm genuinely interested. (Edit: Look at my latest reply about my take on Jotaro's character)
Just talking about Stone Ocean makes me wanna ball my eyes out. Stone Ocean will forever be the most saddest part in all of JoJo. All of the character development about Jotaro that Kaleb said in this video is exactly why he's one of my favorite JoJos. Jotaro is a rock on the outside but a sweetheart on the inside.
@Cyclic Jellie I remember sobbing over Jonathan's death and people that are in future parts are like "what the fuck is wrong with you". Bruh, respect for Phantom Blood.
One of my favorite Jotaro moments is in one his brief, brief cameos in Pt 5. Giorno steals Koichi's luggage and passport and when Koichi calls Jotaro and tells him what happened, Jotaro doesn't get angry or complain at all. He just apologizes to Koichi that he had to go through that and says he'll send some replacement stuff over for him. It's a small, possibly insignificant thing, but I dunno I liked it. I always felt that Jotaro's stoic and badass personality fit the mentor character more than the actual main character, which is why I didn't care for him much in Pt 3. But Pts 4 and especially 6, Jotaro was one of my favorite characters there.
@@malon6048 I love tsunderes so Jotaro is the best JoJo character for me. When he smiles, it's because this really means something, and when he is sad too. I am glad Araki made him this way. Also it's easy to spot his feelings if you don't have a attention spam of a golden fish
@@malon6048 Correction: he is boring *to you* i like him very much, most protagonists in anime have carbon copy "happy dumb boy" personality, Jotaro give to me a very different feeling.
Solgy but I bet Jonathan is great for you? A guy who had almost no development and stayed basically the same throughout his part. What about josukè, selfless but just his mom and dad mixed in one. Or what about Giorno which is just dio and Jonathan mixed
I'm crying dude, I love Jotaro's character so much. This is why he is so great in my opinion, if you only read the surface you get a really shallow version of him, you have to dig a little depper to really understand him
Had the situation been less urgent, I think that Jotaro would have stopped Pucci right then and there. But Jotaro was in the middle of what was probably the most important fight he had ever been in, and right there in the moment when those knives were pointed at Jolyne, all the lives of his fallen comrades went through his head, and the fear of losing someone else made him choose to save his daughter, with the reassurance that maybe there would be another way to stop Pucci.
7:35 I liked this statement, "It's hard to make those decisions because it's either the world or your daughter." Since, many people don't seem to get at all why Jotaro just couldn't be there for his family but they don't understand the big and especially hard decisions he had to make/or sacrifice, not sure if it was the right choice, but that's the choice he ended up with mostly because having a family of his own was hard for him in the first place. It wasn't easy for him. Yeah?
It's mentioned ALL THE TIME how stand users attract other stand users, and people still don't get it, if jotaro really wanted to fuck off and go beat up stand users, why was his stand weaker in diu? Obviously because he was trying to settle down and be with his family, but that didn't work out.

The people that we see at the end of Stone Ocean are still the same individuals that we've been following throughout the rest of the story, they just don't remember any of the events that occurred because the time acceleration was stopped by Emporio at just around before the beginning of part 6. My theory for why the names have been changed is that because Pucci no longer exists in the new universe, a sort of butterfly effect causes names to be slightly different. This is also why none of them are in prison, because Pucci was never there to frame Jolyne / Irene in the first place, causing the others through the butterfly effect to also not be convicted of any crimes for one reason or another. The reason nobody remembers Emporio is because the universe was returned to normal speed before anyone had met him in the last universe, so nobody knew him in the new one. At any rate, Araki has personally confirmed that the souls of the people at the end of Stone Ocean are the same as those at the beginning. We know that souls cannonically exist in JoJo, as seen from the soul-swap in Golden Wind, so we know this isn't just Araki saying things. Everyone, including people like Giorno, Josuke, and Joseph, remain completely intact. None of the characters that were killed after the very beginning of Stone Ocean remain dead, except for Foo Fighters as it was a stand who's memories / free will started after Stone Ocean began. Besides that, It's really a "happily ever after" for JoJo and a perfect way to wrap up the timeline in time for Steel Ball Run. TL:DR, None of the main characters (including Jotaro) remain dead at the end of Stone Ocean because their souls are pulled through into the new universe, so it's really the same exact people. The reason their names are changed is because of the butterfly effect caused from Pucci's death in the new universe. They don't remember Emporio because the universe stopped acceleration before the events of Part 6 occurred, when nobody at the time had met him.
Part 6 i feel despite being one of the most disliked? or i guess subjective parts only makes Jotaro better in my eyes. His strength of character and the way Araki decided to finish his story is genius yet bittersweet. He's not perfect. Never has been. never would be, but Jotaro despite misconceptions is a man of heart. His biggest strength is his love for his friends and family to distance himself to maybe even deny himself happiness or a normal life simply to save others, but at the same time it's his greatest weakness in part 6 which inevitably leads to his death. Yet it's oh so Jotaro, Putting himself on the line to protect someone else. The fact he saves her over the defeat of Pucci and the saving of the universe proves this so. For a man seemingly made of stone. He truly had the biggest heart.
I mean the reason why Universe reseted because Araki had too much problems with the original universe, He made like a confusing universe and had no idea what to do. And thats why Part 7 and 8 have no problems within it, its all fixed upon now.
The craziest thing about Jotaro to me is how Part 6 makes you change your entire perception of Parts 3 and 4. Like... throughout Part 3, you *can* think of Jotaro as being emotional inside but just not showing it, and throughout Part 4 you *can* kind of appreciate how he's grown... but you wouldn't. Not to the degree you should for Jotaro. But Stone Ocean changes that. What we see of Jotaro during Stone Ocean, even if it's only for a short time, manages to put a spin on literally everything we've experienced about Jotaro so far. His unawareness of how to care for others and how to show his own emotions, in the light of Part 6, puts his perceived edginess in Part 3 in a whole other meaning. What we see of how the burden of fighting the remnants of Dio's army destroyed his life makes us watch his journey with the Stardust Crusaders in a much more negative way: He's not the valiant hero anymore for whom everything will be ok. Rewatching Stardust Crusaders after Stone Ocean, Jotaro is a doomed soul. And you get to watch in horror as the death warrant on his personal life is signed. Part 3 makes you believe that Jotaro is an edgelord. Part 4 does little to change that. And Part 6... Part 6 shatters all these notions in the most spectacular way possible. Part 6 destroys your previous perception of Jotaro and replaces it with something that makes you look back on the ENTIRE character that is Jotaro... and see a different person. He was never "The Protagonist"... he was just a guy. He was never an edgelord... he was just unaware of showing emotion. And he was never cold and distant... he was just afraid. Afraid that his presence would doom others.
I think the best part that illustrates Jotaro’s mentor role and how much he’s grown in DiU is in the Sheer Heart Attack arc, which’s one of the (many) reasons its my favorite arc in part 4. Koichi is of course thinking with his emotions rather than his brain and suggests they go after Kira instead, while Jotaro, having his fair share of experience with stands, realizes what he’s dealing with and takes a calmer and more levelheaded approach. The only reason he ends up getting blasted later on is in order to save Koichi from Sheer Heart Attack once it targets him after dropping his guard.
The fact that Araki keeps one character strongest through out the series instead of just throwing away the character after the season is what makes JoJo such a good series, Jotaro was and is the strongest and the series had 5 parts after the part where jotaro was the MC, this makes the series so great
I always wanted you to talk about Jotaro this dept. Jotaro is without a doubt the most iconic character but at the same time the most misunderstood and misinterpreted character in the franchise. Love this video

When Jotaros stand got stolen and he "died" I legit got sad.
When jotaro pulled up at the end by stopping time and saving jolyne it literally sent chills down my spine. The use of jotaro in part 6 was amazing

Part 5 Jotaro : Thin
I miss him.

That’s cuz Jolyne IS his world 😳
i really wish people would stop misinterpreting jotaro as a battle ready meansss emotionless guy. he's more of an emotionally stunted teenager who just doesn't show affection openly. just because he doesn't show it openly doesn't mean it's not there. think about every stand battle and fight and life or death situation he's in during stardust crusaders. think about the dio fight. the very reason WHY he's there is explanatory to his true nature. he's there to save his mom. he did all that SHIT, to save his mom. that's how much he loves her. jotaro is a character that i think is widely misinterpreted due to his outer shell but all it takes is looking a little deeper past that to see his true colors. he's nice to kids, his favorite food is his moms cooking and even though it's subtle, he gets upset when his friends and family are hurt and is actively doing everything he can to save his mother from dying. he's a really good person deep down. just because he's a mean guy doesn't make him without emotion!!! and his true core that people overlook is the main reason i like him in the first place.
Thank you!
Yare yare, I am just gunna agree with this.
I honestly agree since i believe we see a much younger and happy jotaro that doesn't look as hardened as he is now at that point.
Yeah, like the man said he was inspired by Clint Eastwood, someone who had a tough outer persona but didn't show any weakness because enemies could pick up on that. Jotaro captures that persona perfectly.
Boi I think we all know that especially once we reach part 4 he was such a badass the way he analyze every situation perfectly was so awesome

Jolyne forgave Jotaro because she knew he had to distance himself to protect her. Once again, people miss the point by harping on it. Jolyne is the only person that Jotaro freaks out for when she gets hurt. And people refuse to accept that fact for some reason
Sad :

@@vovabars1234 in terms of design, all the Jostars resemble Fist of the North Star characters( til Part 4 and up) but this was due to Araki wanting to put a spin on the " Masculine" archetype in manga. Its pretty cool looking at it from a design perspective. Also, the " Masculine Parody " I referred to was poking fun of the archetype.
CDNG416 Yeah that’s definitely the best way to describe him. Though, I’d say a homicidal simp. Keep in mind, the man is not stable.
But didn't jolyne herself ask anasui in the final moments to ask for her hand?

The problem I have with the time stop ability though is that it didn't really feel like it was foreshadowed well
@@Hydrogen92 Pretty sure the timestop ability is hinted in N'Doul fight.

@@Fitness_Trends SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF PART 6
I feel like people misunderstand the ending of Part 6. It's mentioned that every living thing that survives the time reset is safely transferred over into the next world.

Imagine having a stand but not being able to stand?

I feel like you should make this into a series called “The Many Shades of” a character
Wtf is that pfp... If that's a Dio in Roblox I should report you. Lmao
AdoH even if it is why do you care?
AdoH
It’s dio in Gmod and even if it was dio in roblox why would you need to report him/her
Holy shit I dont know if you guys are stupid or what ? I put "lmao" at the end to show that its a joke...
@@raisinx and he changed his pfp, he really had a Roblox Dio pfp I was just laughing and I wrote that
The fact that Araki keeps one character strongest through out the series instead of just throwing away the character after the season is what makes JoJo such a good series, Jotaro was and is the strongest and the series had 5 parts after the part where jotaro was the MC, this makes the series so great
Well, besides super stands, shit like Made in Heaven and GER.
We'll I'll say he was the strongest JoJo until Giorno got GER.
@@Mothwater jotaro can beat mih,now about ger i dont know but he can atleast put a good fight
@@Mothwater none of them are a stand without ANY power boost
Let's see how well would Jotaro do against Tusk Act 4 which ignores time stop.
Jotaro: *disrespects all women*
Jotaro to Jolyne: “I’ve always cherished you”
you missed the chance to say “he put ZA WARDO and his daughter on the scale”
except it wasnt just the world but the universe
I never thought of anime Jotaro as being "emotionless"; he clearly cared for his mom, granddad, and friends a lot, he just didn't show them as openly.
Jotaro: *saves jolyne instead of the universe*
Jolyne: *still dies*
Jotaro: 👁️👄👁️
i thougth jolyene lives
@@ricardohanna3108 good job you spoiled him for part 6😂
@@donnel_maphosa i didn't watch part 6 i only watch stardust
Giorno Giovanna: *Playing Pianos peacefully*
Wait... WHAT
That's really an emotional part where jotaro picks his daughter instead of the whole universe 😢❤
I always wanted you to talk about Jotaro this dept. Jotaro is without a doubt the most iconic character but at the same time the most misunderstood and misinterpreted character in the franchise.
Love this video
Spoilers for the ending of part 6
Jotaro: Litteraly dooms an entire universe to save his daughter

Jotaro is one of the most smartest complex character in anime ngl
Jotaro is not the most complex in all anime but he is in my top 10, for sure
Can someone tell me what is “ngo”
@@bruh-uq2zx ngl is not gonna lie
Thank u
@@lain5858 I think the guy named Gamer meant inside JoJo, and not "all" anime?
"consolidating someone is important"
Kaleb, I think you mean consoling
I've been looking for the comment calling it out. It bugs me so much because I was trying to understand what he meant. Consolidating is such a drastically different word lol
I think it'd be cool if Holly was a side character in part 6 (having a simmilar roll to part 4 Joseph), it could really develop both herself and Jotaro
