You have to detach the sunroof window. 6 torx bolts and make sure you outline the mounting point for those bolts as they affect how good or bad the weather seal is afterwards. The sun shade will slide right out the top with no glass installed.

What did you do with the metal trim around the space for the Sunroof mechanism/light switch combo and the other four accessory lights?
