Doing my Mkv GTI right now and have the headliner out already- having the rear hatch helps out tremendously as far as getting it out!! Just really nice to see how you actually applied the glue and the headliner and cutting everything out, etc... Really nice job!
I'm planning on doing my b5 audi A4. this video will help me out allot . thanks for the post .
I just pulled my headliner out yesterday. I still gotta figure out how to get the sunroof shade out.

Great job on your headliner. I appreciated the tips for purchasing it, for the glue, to let the glue get sticky for 5 minutes, on how to cut it, etc. Te felicito! Muy buen trabajo. Y gracias! No fue dificil hacer los pilares?
Great info. Thanks for posting. Could you work on your lighting so we can see details during the process? I'm going to tackle my interior fabric next. You make it look so easy.

Thanks bro!!!
That jetta is awesome😍
Thanks for the video
+AMMAAR WADEE thanks man o love that car
Great video, good call on the metal brush to remove the foam, it made light work of the old but I screwed up when my liner first started sagging and sprayed some 3M headliner spray to try and fix it and that turned out to be the toughest part of removing the foam! That stuff is on there good and kinda sticky. Recommendations for getting it off? I'm going to go at it with some sand paper tomorrow and see how that goes.
Awesome video. Made me want to do it this way (the right way) instead of the "just trying to randomly spray the glue between the two and hoping for the best" methid
+J Teal thanks man, is always better to do it the right way 😁
Dude! Your property is so beautiful! I couldnt help but notice, quiet road, many birds so healthy eco there, bright colors, and loads of room! If I may ask, where in the world is this? You have a beautiful home. And nice rides too man! VW for life!
+Alec Fleming thank you so much man, is a close residence in atlanta Georgia

+ricardo dorantes thankk youuu !!! 😀😀
great video man, i have a 98 mark 3 jetta gl with that ugly tan interior. will be using this video to help change the interior to black.
That mk3 is sick👍🏼
Great video man!
really good video man,i recently did this to my mk4 golf, used your method with wire brush and it was going smooth,I was planning to cover the pillars too,but i ended by spray painting them black, along with wisors, handles etc.
+Eimantas Dapkevičius thanks man im really glad this video was helpful 😁
Did spray painting the cloth make it feel really hard or stiff? I'm about to do my headliner and A,B and C?D? Pillars.... but I don't know what to do with the grey trim around the doors. I already ordered the black trim pieces from Ebay off a 20th GTi
*Edit* the trim pieces I ordered from Ebay was all the plastic pieces like lights, seatbelt covers, grab handles and sunvisors
Goodjob Bro, Just Did Mine 2 weeks ago but ima end up redoing it a little Different. Great video thou.
Thankss bro

thank you friend, I have to do it too on my golf 3, out of curiosity, the video is from 2015, does the job still hold or has it shown defects over time?
great job, great video
good job Pedro!
Nice work! Thanks for the video.
+Sean McDonald your very welcome man
Great vid, you just saved me doing my land rover defender headliner. Thanks from the UK 👍
Hey there
Done it before many years ago, but forgot some little things, we are using the same glue and helping me with the timing till it is dry, before applying and also cutting the edges and gluing. I wonder how long my old jobs lasted 10 years ago.
THANKS GOOD VIDEO
you can also take off the headliner thru the trunk, just fold the back seats, and pass it thru there was much easier especially when you try to put it back and you want to fold to much. but great video bro, it help me a lot.
I don't have a trunk, looks like coming out the passenger door would be best bet...
PRINCESSSSAAAAAAAA!!!!!! YA ERES FAMOSA!!!!! LMAOL 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice jettas bro!!
Going to be doing this for my VW CC. Huge help bro.
thanks broo
@Black0wt20 Did you do the headliner job in your CC? How did it turn out?
Amazing vid!
Can we get an update on if it lasted? I'm going to try todo this on my 2008 GLI. Not sure if its worth just buying the new foam as well as the liner or just new liner
Hi perfect work how much time do i have to wait for the glue???
i would just love how to take these off... are they just snap tight just like everything else?
Excellent job brother. Thanks for sharing. All the best!
Nice job, what about the headliner pillars ? Is that material will be tick to do them ? I need to this whole job on my b5.5 passat
I don't like permatex adhesive if you do one more try 3M adhesive is way better don't get me wrong you did a good job
Thank you so much. People say 3m its better but this one really work for me
Very nicely done. I am going to try this. Why only 5 years? Seems like if you used high temp adhesive it should last a lot longer. Thanks for the video, I learned a lot.
About 2 days ago i do the same thing on my gti mk4 and the space or the hole of the sunroof doesnt fit any advice?
good job, looks great. wish mine came out that well..but i see my mistake was not laying down new foam ir waiting till the glue got tacky.
Thanks man I really appreciate your comment, no worries man next time you'll do it better
You have a couple bad ass Boras man!
good job bro and we'll explained
Thanks bro!!! 😃
Do you have a link to where you bought the fabric?

Good job bro

Thanks, I go make a MK4 now jeje
Do u have video with sunroof shade removal ?
i love that blue on your car
What fabric did you use
Your video encourages me to do the same thing. Have you tried to do side pillars? What kind of materials is used for sides ? Should it be airbag compatible?
+Dmitriy no bro is the the same fabric
Fantastic job.....hows it holding up?
I wonder if you could use a palm sander to remove some of the old foam/adhesive....
Thank you! I'm hoping to do this and save lots of $. Thanks for being so polite too!
+iDefiantMiah thank youuu!!!!!! 😁😁😁
Good work, that Mk3 looks great!
Thanks man
great video my friend
+Mubarak Khan thank you so much!!
I may have missed it in the video, but does the type of fabric make a difference (other than the obvious characteristics like kevlar vs cotton) Is this fabric specifically for headliner? Found your channel through recommended for your antilag and boom, theres a video of you doing healiner and I just so happen to need that. Thanks man
i know this might be a little late but i have done several mazda 6 headliners and 4 of them I have used a different type of material. I have used the foam material which you can order online or go to joann fabrics and they will either have it or they can usually order it for you, this is made for headliner but is also a pain in the rear to work with. also i have used a couple different types of fleece which i really liked but need to be careful not to let the glue bleed through. It is easy to work with, and the most forgiving. I still haven't found a excellent glue to use when doing this. i have tried a few different spray glues/adhesives along with rubber cement which said it was made for headliners, and so did the spray glues/adhesives.
Headliner fabric normally consists of a foam layer and then a fabric layer. The foam layer adds some cushion to the headliner and also hides irregularities in the headliner backing. If you search up "headliner replacement fabric" it will normally show up. Joann craft stores normally carry it in a few colors.
i love that blue
I used some very high quality headliner fabric and two cans of 3M General Trim Adhesive 051135-08088 on my Volvo 740 way back in 2006 and it still looks new. It is just now, after about thirteen years, starting to sag in two places. This adhesive is currently about $22 a can on Amazon. The headliner material is about $45. So with the nicer stuff you have to spend about a hundred with shipping. However, thirteen years is pretty damned impressive. However, no matter how much you spend, if you do not do the needed prep work it will fall within a year or two. Maybe less. You did a great job. I hope your materials hold out like mine did. Even five years is very good adhesion. The issue is not with the adhesive bond with the fabric, but that the fabric ends up coming loose from the foam, so the quality of the fabric is really important. Unfortunately there is no place online that I can find that will tell you which brands to avoid, and price alone is not an indication of anything these days. Nice work. Keep putting out good videos, man. Up-thumbed!
hello how can I just remove the panel to put the new fabric in it could you explain it to me or make me a video how to do it thanks
could u do a video on how u added the big turbo/intercooler piping?
thanks
+Alex Rogowski i have one in my channel
Thank you gr8 video.
Was $160 the price quoted including cost of materials and removal from car and reinstallation into the car or was that the price quoted just to remove the old material from your headliner put new material onto it, leaving you to take it out of the car and put it back into the car?
How’s it holding up ?
was the sunroof headliner easy to remove after the main headliner removal?... I have to replace only the sunroof headliner please help!... great video btw thanks alot!
+hector lugo no bro thats really esay i did not remove mine because the fabric was good remove the whole headliner and the just pull back the sunroof its not hard youll see
Gracias amigo. Una pregunta. Como puedo reparar el mío. Está quebrado en dos!! Gracias.
Love how he guns his little engine in high speed to strip the old foam off...
Do you have a video on how to get it out to begin with?
muy bueno
What about the sunroof panel that slides. Did you repair that too? And your A and B pillars.
+Lazaro Carreiro i did man i did not put it with the video because it was going to be like 35 minutes long
But the real question here is, Is Bobby OK? I am worried about Bobby!!!
Primo esta Brutal estoy haciendo el mio de cuero
After watching many Video on this subject this was was the most helpful çÔ¿Ôp
I'm very glad this video helped you 😁
What size of fabric did you get
it's is probably 60" which this is what i normally use when doing a headliner, you will have a little left over the sides but this is what you want. when you go in the dips ur gonna need that extra, and what i do with the little extra that is overhang, i fold it to the backside and glue it, this gives it a little extra support. just be careful doing this because you do not want to pull to hard or it might come apart, also if the fabric is thick then you might want to just cut it or it will not fit correctly when going back in, but the thinner material shouldn't be a problem
Make AND model adesive, Thanks!!!!!
