  • Our incredible patient, and clinical psychologist, Dr. Christine Yarosh, discusses the vagus nerve and how important it is for people to understand the map of their nervous system to help them better cope with stress. We were delighted and grateful for her insight and wisdom. Psychologists like Dr. Yarosh can play an important role in helping people optimize vagus nerve function and improve their healing response.

Oh my! What an eye opener! I grew up feeling perfectly fine and comfortable (no anxiety at all) and then when I was 19, a boyfriend had become physical with me and in the process he pushed me five times and my head smashed the waterbed headboard and then next morning I woke up a different person and have remained that different person. I have severe anxiety 24/7. I told every doctor I’ve ever seen about “how I woke up with anxiety” and what took place prior, it was all dismissed. I hope there is a way to correct this. My biggest dream is to be free of anxiety. It’s been 23 years now, unfortunately.

OOOOhhhhh, thank you for this video. I have wanted to hear a competent doctor discuss this topic for a long time (it's rare in my area). This is so good, but feel it must go deeper. I'd love to hear more about this in connection to ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, which a lot of people with POTS, MCAS, EDS/hEDS/HSD, etc. seem to have.

Can cervical instability be a cause of chronic fatigue?

I did some reasearch on this cause chatgpt pointed out from my experience i was in a fight or flight response
So basically i was on my bus these 7th graders kept picking on me (i was in 6th grade) they throwed stuff at me and smacked me with paper (it didnt hurt) but what really got me into this repsponse is when they went back to their seats AND PUT ON THE MOST TERRYFIYING CLOWN MASK IVE EVER SEEN, and im terrified of clowns. So my breathing sped up my heart raced and they started throwing things at me, but its like my body took over i was frickin divin from seat to seat while dodging the paper i was so scared that i didnt care about anything my sesnes sharpened ten fold and when one of them came to me i tripped him and when the other came to me i dropped kicked him so hard into the others they fell in the ile and i mean they got sent flying ofc i got in trouble but ill never forget that day.

You can do TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) from Dr. David Berceli. It’s the best for coming down from fight/flight into the normal calm state…

Dr. Hauser... I am contacting you here, as I have been a Patient with severe POTS since 1998, after Major Heart Surgery from a Viral Infection I contracted while a Physicians Assistant in Pulmonary Critical Care.
After that, I had consistent Tachycardia followed by severe vomiting episodes and having to crawl wherever I needed to go, in my home.
I bring this up here, after watching a two year old Videon you put out about the Vasal Vaga compression and POTS.
I wanted to understand a few things concerning undiagnosed, or in reality, ignoring the fact that I experienced severe trauma with the Open Heart Surgery (Pericardiectomy), and subsequent Post Thoracotomy Syndrome, along with other complications.
I also had an Auto Accident which caused a curvature in my Cervical Spine, and am now finding out that I have Stenosis, and other Lumbar Issues.
Due to Imbalance, and Blood Pressure Drop because of POTS, I have had at least three concussions.
I have also recently been diagnosed with Sjogrens, and several other Autoimmune Diseases because of the Dysautonomia, and things are getting worse, as I also now have severe Anemia, and am scheduled to see an Oncologist.
I know this is a lot, but it is truthfully just the tip of the Iceberg.
I have several things I would like to discuss with you, but in this format, I think my main Questions are.
Which came first...the chicken or the egg? Was I predisposed to POTS due to the Trauma, or The Viral Infection triggering the actual Dysautonomia?
Or was it the Viral Infection, which caused the Dysautonomia, and is causing the long list of Autoimmune Diseases to keep piling up...which most Doctor's seem to say?
(BTW)...It took me almost dying in order for Doctor's to acknowledge that I had heart damage, let alone severe Pericarditis ! (Long Story)
I am at my wits end, feeling like it is closer to life's end, and would like to know if any Cervical Treatment would help, or if it us just too late for me.
Please help...even if saying there is none.
Thank you, and GOD Bless you 🌹
    Laurie Kurad

Does anyone know of a doctor in the Seattle Washington area that treats vagus nerve problems? My sister has severe anxiety and confusion along with chronic pain on the right side of her body from her head, face, neck, shoulder arm and into her abdomen. She can no longer calm her fear and anxiety on her own without medication but most medication make her symptoms worse. I'm so afraid that she will end up in a mental institution for an illness that is treatable if I don't get her the right help soon. I would love to take her to Dr. Hauser but we don't have the money. If anyone knows of a doctor in or near Seattle, please let me know. I really appreciate it.
    Thank you.
    Diane

Before trying anything else, try some B complex vitamins, of course if she can take them, if she is not allergic to it or something. It did wonders for me. After 20 years of anxiety, the last 10 being horrible, I finally got the peace I forgot exists. I'm shocked that people can have this kind of peace. I'm not all cured of anxiety but I feel a lot better after only 20 days of taking vitamin B complex supplements. I don't want to overdose because that can be dangerous too so I stopped taking them. It really is worth to try. She can take some blood tests before to know in which one she is deficient. I didn't afford tests so I tried without them.
Also another thing that I found it helps is sage tea. It gives calmness, optimism and joy almost instantly and it lasts the entire day. This one I discovered a year ago, but I use it pretty rare, usually before my period to calm my depression and almost bipolar personality caused by PMS. Sage is not safe to use frequently. And I think it's bad for people with hypoglycemia. Do some thorough research on it before.
I hope she doesn't give up, there are lots of remedies. I am just discovering myself that there is hope. For the past 5 years or so I was so bad, I was sure I will end up in a psychiatric hospital not only because of anxiety, but also OCD and other issues.
      Don't lose hope! Good luck!
Oh and I read that B vitamins help heal damaged nerves, including the vagus nerve.

Thank you so much. She was very low on b12 so her new primary care doctor said to start her on Methylated b12. She said that when you are as low on b12 as my sister, you can start presenting like you have dementia. Unfortunately this hasn't helped as much or at least not noticeably but other doctors keep prescribing her meds that cause her adverse effects so it's hard to know what's going on. I believe my sister has underlying medical issues that are causing her severe fear, anxiety and confusion. I'm just praying that a doctor will find meds for her chronic pain and extreme anxiety that will help and not hurt her while I try to find the underlying cause.
Thank you again so very much. Please keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers. Her name is Victoria.

@@d.w.6476I’m so sorry to hear this about your sister.. I have the same issues..fear and anxiety so bad. I’ve been saying for years that there’s something else physical going on that I have no control over! I swear it’s the instability in my neck. How do you convince doctors of this and what is the cure?! 😢. Prayers for you and your sister. 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

I have cervical kyposis and have had a mental breakdown. My central nervous system is highly sensitive, which I was already a highly sensitive person due to autism. I can feel EVERYTHING my body is going through eg if I move my arm my heart rate drops, I look up and the vibration feeling reduces, I look to the top right and I can feel fluid from behind my eye move. I could be an interesting case study as I have experienced just about all vagus nerve damage symptoms Inc psychosis and auditory hallucinations. I am getting chiropractic manipulation for cervical kyposis. I'm scared this isn't right as my throat swells now which seems to be worse when I have unknown onset anxiety. Dr Hauser, I need your help 😢
