I have an overlander 2014 bought it with 120k have it 5 years and put additional 30k and have spent about 1500$ on maintenance changing suspension arm , AC repair, key, alarm ,tyres, The only issues are the headlamps that i upgraded to led .But still are not whats suficiente. All in all its a great 4x4 and in my opinion after owning & driving many 4x4 mercedes ,audi ,Vws toyota nissan, The overlander is probally as good as you get for value & quality
My Limited has everything this does except the front parking sensors, tow hooks and air bag suspension. I have the panoramic sun roof, the harman Kardon , the 20 inch rims, the bi-xenon head lights with led, the large 8.4 inch screen, front and rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats. So you must be just looking at bare bones limiteds. The only things you can't get on the limited are the painted trim and the air bag suspension, and front tow hooks
To A F- My limited came with painted trim, tow hooks and dual exhaust and everything else you mentioned, it was hard to find those options without getting an overland.
@@donnalopez2126 Then you have an overland without the Badge basically and got lucky. Those are like unicorns ... impossible to find! I mean that's all the overland adds so you have an overland without the overland stitched into the front seat and the badge. Was it cheaper than the overland?
@@AF-xi4ub Window sticker lists it as a limited, but I have never seen one with painted trim, the luxury II package is what gives it all the extra goodies but still without the stitched dash and air suspension. Mine was just over 47,000, the overland I looked at was 49,000 but I didn't want all the chrome. Mine also has no badge on it, sales man said it looks like a mix of models. They do have a limited X now for 2019 that has all painted trim dual exhaust and the SRT hood, which does look like mine but I don't have the SRT hood, like you said it's a unicorn.
Good quick comparison video between the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Limited trim and Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Overland trim. Few noticeable differences on the exterior. Mainly the front end. On the interior there are more noticeable differences between the two trim levels. That panoramic sunroof makes a big difference when you're inside looking outside. The Limited trim also has dual exhaust tips, but it's optional. What's optional on both the Limited trim and the Overland trim is that in reference to the powertrain a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine is available which produces 360 horsepower along with 390 pound feet of torque. I currently have the 3rd generation Jeep Grand Cherokee which is one generation older than the two Jeeps shown in this video. I have intentions on getting the upcoming new generation 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. It'll be released this coming year in 2021 as the 2022 model year. Based on information I got from couple sources, this upcoming 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee will have two rows of seats as the standard. However, for the first time in the Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup 3rd row seating will be available. Third row seating was first rumored for the 3rd generation Jeep Grand Cherokee which I have and the current soon to outgoing 4th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it didn't become to fruition. It'll become to fruition this time for the upcoming 5th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee. This upcoming new generation will also have few more advanced safety features on top of what's already available on the current generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, a rotary dial shifter, HUD (Heads Up Display), a 10.1 inch infotainment screen for some models depending on trim levels and etc. The first year for the upcoming new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is the 2022 model year. As for me I'll wait and get either the 2023 model year or the 2024 model year. When the time comes I'll get mine in the Overland trim nicely equipped with 3rd row seating and the 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. OBTW, the upcoming new generation will have a hybrid power train as well so that they'll be competitive with other vehicle manufacturers.
I just bought a limited but I'm getting all messed up because I have ventilated seats, navigation, parking assist, Harmon Kardon sound system, the offroad app, and the panoramic sunroof.
They are about $10k different as equipped. The limited is in the low $40s and the overland is in the low $50s. I would recommend whichever fits your budget better! They are both fantastic choices, you really can’t go wrong. Grand cherokees are my favorite Jeep.

Very solid and thorough video. Great job. One thing I would have liked to see is the opening and closing of the panoramic sunroof on the overland. I am actually looking into these different models now but not ready to buy just yet so I have not gone to a dealer yet. I was actually going to ask about the body style but I see you responded to someone a new one is coming in 2020. May need to keep my Jeep Wrangler a little longer :)
Currently look at buying a Jeep GC, one thing that I am currently having issues finding out is if the GC normally come in rear wheel drive or 4x4 automatically? I keep getting missed answers, bc some models say 4x4 and some do not. Is that an extra feature that has to be purchased or does it depend on the model of the GC you are purchasing.
When it's snowing Do you have to select 4wd lock along with the snow mode on the dial or it does it automatically when you select snow mode with the dial?
I have a JGC 3.0L diesel Overland 2013 model. I was trying the car to see if it drives well and all that is promised by Jeep. Well I have no complaints... great car indeed. However, it is a nightmare to get parts for the car here in South Africa and they are bloody expensive. I am considering upgrading to the 2019 model of the same trim level.
Yes, just look for one with the Luxury Option II package. Pretty much like an Overland without the air suspension. Includes upgraded sounds, panoramic sunroof, heated seats and steering wheel, etc.
My 2013 & 2015 Grand Cherokees were Overlands with HEMI's and pretty much the full option package. For 2019 I went with a Limited with HEMI, but lost a few cool options, but I wanted the HP. All my GC's have been good to me, even the 2015 that needed a transmission replaced. They never stranded me and they can take a hit.
@@MichaelBradley1967 ya I’m downsizing from a yukon. With high gas prices here to stay i think the V6 version would be fine. Im done w V8’s. The V6 still has respectable towing numbers too.
My 2018 limited has a lot different features than the red one you showed, it came standard with gps and sunroof and a few other features I noticed. I wonder why that is ?
If you go to the website build and price you can get the safety features on a limited; you can get a V8 Hemi ON A LIMITED; I am sure you can get the LED lights if you ask them which I am going to; I am going to ask for the full chrome grill too;
Did they stop doing the laguna leather seats saddle color for the overland trim for 2014 and up I was looking for a 2014 overland v6 with the laguna leather seat package
my 2018 Limited has the Offroad Adventure II package and the tow package too so it is everything that a Trailhawk is without the obvious cosmetics(emblems, seats, red stitching, etc) which dont matter. This also holds true with the Overland which is basically the TrailHawk with different cosmetics. All the lane change, parking stuff, and stereo stuff is optional on all Limiteds so what this really should have been would be a basic comparison to non-optioned Limiteds vs Overlands.
I have 2014 laredo 4x4 without nav or heated seat option much mor can you help how to get them don’t be mad if this is common stuff because i just bought it:(
I am getting all of that on my limited; because I am ordering it through the factory; and that is going to save me $10,000. My loaded limited with be only around $44,000. I am not getting the off road adventure 2; or vent seats or the wood but that is fine; I will still get the autoparking and the lane departure and I get nav and rear crosspass warning; that is a great deal
There is a app on your pink crystal encrusted phone that you order from. They bring it to you the next week. And don't worry, you wont have to talk in person to anybody, they put the keys in an email...
We can build them for you at the dealership, just talk to a salesperson at your local Jeep dealer. It takes a few months to get a build but it’s pretty cool to pick all the options you want.
A 2019 will come with crosspath and lane detect standard along with the larger screen. So those items wont cost extra now anyway. As for factory build, yes you can order and save some money it just takes linger to wait fur it but wont save you anywhere near 10k.
I test drove a fully loaded 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland it looked just like the one in this video it had all the options including adaptive cruise control the Harmen Karden sound system and the Hemi. It only had 8,600 miles on it and they only wanted $25,999 for it I really wanted to buy the Jeep but my credit isn't quite good enough yet. 🤦
If that's all they were asking for it, I'd be willing to wager the carfax either shows an accident, or the Program Control Module (PCM) being repaired numerous times (meaning they're never going to get it right). You're better off paying more, or paying less and going with a Limited that doesn't have those issues.
Great comparison video. Thanks! I'm helping my brother in law purchase a Grand Cherokee. He is choosing between these two models. He has a disability which makes it difficult for him to get in a vehicle that is too high off the ground. I know the Overland has air suspension but at it's lowest adjustment, how does it compare to height of the Limited? The lower the better for him. Thanks!!
Does the air suspension in the overland give it a smoother ride? I like a nice quiet, smooth ride. I would have bought an overland I test drove, but it had been repaired for PCM reprogramming twice on the carfax so that gave me the willies. Basically, will both have the same power, handling and smoothness?
Did they fix the issue on the Overland when attaching a large bike rack on the back where the collision and lane sensors keep firing because of the bikes?
I recently purchased a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Best car purchase to date. I love my new JGC.

The older ones had overland summit stitched into the seats. It was either an overland or an overland summit at that time.
Andrew's Car Reviews Thank you. I thought I was loosing my mind for a min. Lol
ventilated seats? what it means?
If you go to the website build and price you can get the safety features on a limited; you can get a V8 Hemi ON A LIMITED; I am sure you can get the LED lights if you ask them which I am going to; I am going to ask for the full chrome grill too;
Thanks for the information! I heard that the 2020 will have a different body style. Have you heard/read anything on this?
I have heard that a redesign is coming in 2020 as well
@@AndrewsCarReviews I cant wait to see it! I've seen the concepts but I want to see the final deal!! 😁
it wont be a Jeep anymore than the Renegade is now. It will be a Fiat/Alfa based model.
@@KingMrBigE oh no! That's a bummer. 😕
Overland has a bigger uconnect screen inside.
Yes it has the 8.4 inch, I mentioned that in the video
Did they stop doing the laguna leather seats saddle color for the overland trim for 2014 and up I was looking for a 2014 overland v6 with the laguna leather seat package
Not really sure, I never see saddle brown laguna leather on any vehicle to be honest
my 2018 Limited has the Offroad Adventure II package and the tow package too so it is everything that a Trailhawk is without the obvious cosmetics(emblems, seats, red stitching, etc) which dont matter. This also holds true with the Overland which is basically the TrailHawk with different cosmetics. All the lane change, parking stuff, and stereo stuff is optional on all Limiteds so what this really should have been would be a basic comparison to non-optioned Limiteds vs Overlands.
Does the limited come standard with power folding mirrors like the trailhawk? haven't seen those on any US spec limited
Its part of a package, so yes when equipped... I believe its the Luxury package which also includes the LED headlights and foglights, etc.
How do you order from factory? Like, through jeep.com??
Yes , how do you order directly from the factory ? I am looking at a Overland .
As for factory build, yes you can order and save some money it just takes linger to wait fur it but wont save you anywhere near 10k.
just bought that exact car, the limited, velvet red, but mine has a sun roof, and the 8.4 uconnect, with nav.
its also nice to some one local doing vids
So as far as I can see, the Overland has LED headlights? They don't seem xenon. What about the Limited? Is it xenon or LED?
Bro.you didn't give a look to see how is all the lights On.?thankyou.
I own the overland love it
Damn, I should of got an Overland. Air suspension is pretty cool.
Thanks!!
on the limited you can get all of that but you have to order it through the factory
Does the air suspension in the overland give it a smoother ride? I like a nice quiet, smooth ride. I would have bought an overland I test drove, but it had been repaired for PCM reprogramming twice on the carfax so that gave me the willies. Basically, will both have the same power, handling and smoothness?
The Overland ride quality is a little better but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a limited either. Both ride pretty smooth.
The air suspension makes a big difference
If you can, I would truly appreciate if you could possibly review a 2016 or higher Land Rover Range Rover Evoque HSE Dynamic! Thanks!
Did they fix the issue on the Overland when attaching a large bike rack on the back where the collision and lane sensors keep firing because of the bikes?
The best part is the power it hauls. 🤣🤣🤣
Is it big enough for a person to be able to lay completely flat? Im thinking about buying one for car camping.
Probably need a Durango
Can I put a double exhaust on a grand cherokee limited 2018
you didn't cover fuel consumption ?
