You Da Man Neil ... much respect from alfista here!
Thanks
First class job.On a personal note I just think that this GTV looks so much better than its Spider stable mate ever did.
Thanks. Totally agree with the spider.
To solder the wires, twist them together first. Then apply the solder to the iron while it's touching with wires. The solder will flow better, completely covering the bare copper. No croc clips needed, no crispy fingers and a very strong, neat joint 👍
Now thats the way I've been taught not to solder.
@ItaliaAutos I have several years of experience in soldering and manufacturing devices. For me best way to solder two wires is to twist them together just enought so they will not come apart. If you twist them too tigthly, there is less space for solder to flow into joint but more impornantly you will be able to heat them up faster. Before applying solder, it is better to start preheating the joint and applying solder to that join near the solder tip, but not on tip direcly. That way you will not burn the flux conained in solder core before it will do its job. Also there are heat shrink tubes with glue which will seal the joint perfectly afterwards.
Don't solder, expecially not in the engine bay there's one piece crimps for this around. Together with a resin holding crimp sleeve they are very reliable.
If you really want to solder there's soldering crimp tubes available.
General note to all enthusiasts: S39 flux is for plumbing, too aggressive for electrics.
Absaloutly brilliant video neil ❤👍what a beautiful car well done another one saved brilliant
Thanks.
Having seen your previous work I had no doubt that the completed work would be superb, and it was
Cheers.
Great job. Magical to see it all come together again. Lord knows how you remember where everything goes! 😎
I've done this jigsaw a few times now. Thanks for watching
When GTV headlights are exposed I always think, Oooh that looks wrong! Close the bonnet again, ahhh beautiful! 😄
have to say a great job, I think the crash repair vids are some of the best stuff you do
Cheers.

Looking good !! Getting stuff aligned can be such a difficult job !!
Sure can but this was a breeze for a change
Excellent I would like to see the finished job your very good attention to detail very good.👍🏻
All in good time.
Great job... You definitely have more patience than me!
I'm getting paid so I can manage lol
Great to see this GTV being saved. Wish I hadn't sold my phase 1... Soldering was a bit painful to watch, but you can't be good at everything ;-)
Yeah I'm terrible at soldiering but anything can be hidden lol.
nice job congrats
Cheers
I admire your determination
Thanks.

Thanks 👍
RESPECT!!
Thanks
Nicely done, hope the owner looks after it
You and me both!
Take a bow for doing a great job and for saving another Alfa ! By the way, the expensive part to finish her, would it be a bumper grille ? I had to source one for my GTV (phase 3) from Switzerland and boy, it was not cheap ! ! Looking forward to the next video.
No. Luckily I'd got a grill for it. Thanks
Miss my gtv v6 so much 😩
They are fun cars
Good job
Ta
Quality work as always! With the car that is, not so much with the silly video effects. My opinion is just leave those off in the future, they add zero value and represent everything your channel is not.
Just trying something different to keep people watching as it's a longer video than usual
Oh dear, someone whom doesn't appreciate humour.
Hi Neil, have you ever done an input shaft bearing on one of these? is it a big job? loving the vid's
No I haven't
I know it wasn’t part of the scope, but that expansion tank needed a good cleaning or replacement! 😂
True that!
12:07... ah that stepper motor. It's just started playing up on my '99 146 TS... would you suggest trying a used one first or go for a remanufactured / refurbished one Neil? BTW your job on that GTV is of quite a high level, very impressed personally.
Common fault. Think ive got a used one. Thanks for the comment
@@ItaliaAutos You're very welcome. Trouble is you are in the UK, I am in Greece, I'll go through every used parts dealers and see what I can find. Thank you again Neil.
I kbow lwtchworth classic cqr auctiin ..have a gtv up forxsake ..dec 9 ....somexrecorfed damage ...on it ..
Nice work! How much value does an accident history take off a car on the used market?
Depends on if it's a car N or A but 20-30%
Continuing with my theme from last week in which you pointed out that you don’t have to tell insurance companies about accident repairs.Today you stated that once you finished what you were doing to this car nobody would be able to tell that it had been in an accident. Do you think that is something you should be aiming for ? Anybody buying a second hand car should be told that the car has had a repair like this done even though it has been MOTd and is thus presumably roadworthy. Sorry to go on about this but as you can tell I find the situation rather disturbing .
What do you think happens when cars are fixed by insurance companies that aren't written off. You don't get told about that.
@@ItaliaAutos Caveat emptor rules then.
Epic wires soldering😅
go easy on the special effects please
Lol
For me this car would have to be an absolutely mint low mileage example for me to spend even that amount of money on it surely there’s still some decent twin sparks out there?
Sentimental value with thus one.
