thanks Neil at Italia Autos.
the front of the 159 always looks brilliant....
Still fantastic ooo---v---ooo
driving an alfa romeo isn't just driving a car - it's a relationship. When I'm driving around in my 159 and another alfa drives by we salute to each other . keep it up - i love your passion for italien cars and your calm way . greetings from germany
Right.
I remember when I went to Greece for work some years ago, I decided to go by driving my Giulia Gtj: it was really incredible how many fellows flashed me along the road & how many people demonstrated passion and asked about the car
i love the nod that we give when passing each other on the road
@@davidcunningham9282 Yes, really.
...out from the herd immunity
Every Alfa Romeo needs to be saved.
Lucas he killed one to fix this one though.
Adam Cruickshank by taking panels off. The car can be sold. Done up by someone else
You can buy my Phase 1 145 Cloverleaf needing welding then!
rezaq1 I would but I already bought an Alfa Romeo and I’m 19. There’s nothing wrong with it and it’s passed it’s recent MOT with no Advisories.
The engine had gone on the donor car tho... the repair looks fantastic I seen it this morning. Love the horseshoe rims 😍
When you shut the bonnet at 16:22, the 159 is a stunning car.
Put the TI badges back on the fenders! Love for all Alfas out there, good work
In my pocket whilst filming the last segment lol. Thanks for watching.
Fenders? You mean 'wings' which is why all English cars can fly like Chitty Bang Bang LOL
You gave back to the car owner his soul.
thats what i love to do.
Very good work - nice to see a mechanic that can rise to the challenge and not start whining because it's more than servicing work.
cheers ill turn my hand to anything.
Good work as always. 159 front has amazing character. The customer really avoided paint related work/costs with the same color parts car.
Absolutely fantastic work. Lucky the owner had a donor car with the same colour ready at hand. I wish the 156 front bumper would just click into place Like the 159. Definitely need the 19” Ti rims as they set the car off nicely 😎.
Saved from the Alfa grave. Well done 👍.
yeah i hate the 156 bumpers. the rear one is even worse. thanks for watching
More cars need repairing with goodused bits int he right colour rather than lots of unnecessary new parts & painting. So much more cost effective and less wasteful.
Found this channel looking for Giuletta vids. Love it. Honest content, experience, no bull...t. Keep it going man 👍👌
Thanks for watching.
Impossible to understand why you dont have more subscribers... Thanks from France for your good wrench video on alfa romeo
HG , Salisbury area Reg letters .
My 159 was a HG06 .
Great work Neil ..
I have found that Fiat / Alfa’s do have easy bumper / wings etc to replace compared to other manufacturers..
Back in 2010 I had to replace my front bumper on my Fiat Panda 100hp after a elderly lady in a automatic car at a roundabout engaged reverse instead of drive and backed into me .
After the bumper was ordered and painted to my cars body Colour it took me a weekend to strip the old one off , strip the bits I needed off the old one to go on the new one and fit it to my car .
All in all including the drivers headlamp bracket repair because that broke in the impact , I was well impressed by the fitting / gaps etc ..
You would never known it was fitted by me .
Very good.
I understand why the owner wanted it, to be repaired. The 159 is a gorgeous car, probably of the most beautiful in its class ever made. It was not perfect for an Alfa Romeo, it was a little to heavy and underpowered, but it had to be fix.
Nice rescue... obviously worthwhile in the end with you being given a donor car.
I just binge watched Davide Cirone’s Alfa 155 rescue / rebuild series, with the best Italian technicians and suppliers working to make something special.
Meanwhile in a unit in the Black Country there’s a little business working away with the same passion at a much more modest and realistic level...
Thanks for watching.
159 my unfulfilled love, all because people and mechanics in my country are scaring the hell out of me about how unworthy, expensive to maintain and unreliable is. I'm still in love with this car.
There not that bad just avoid the Jts engines.
@@ItaliaAutos thanks for the reply. It's obvious that you don't just know the anatomy but also the soul of Alfa-Romeo. Keep up the good work saving them. 😊👍 I enjoyed the work and the result in the video.
Thanks
You were killing me with the leaves…🤣 always replacing them instead of taking them away…🤣🤣😄😉
Last version 159 Tbi 1750 was the best. Base engine of today's Giuliettas QV and 4C, in fact better, Firts 1750cc version has iron block, not aluminum, better for mods and bigger Turbo.
It's a red TI. That's a rare and beautiful car
Thanks for watching
I love my 159 ti Sportwagon. At the start of the video I was saying no way would it be worth fixing. By the end I was saying totally worth it. Really nice job.
Thanks.
Have to say, that turned out really well considering how badly damaged it was. Surprised that it was only panel damage and nothing more structural, suppose that’s a testament to how well built these were !.
Think I’d be getting a wheel alignment done next coz, the way those wheels were on the o/s, I’d be surprised if the suspension or steering hasn’t been knocked out of line.
It’s nice to see another Alfa saved from the scrapyard to live another day.
I have one exactly the same and it’s the best car I’ve owned, by far the best looking estate car ever made, just gorgeous styling.
My 159 Sportwagon is the first Alfa I’ve had and I’ve fallen in love with them so much since, I got the missus into a Mito, which she loves, and just got myself a GT to play with when not in my 159 !!. It’s true what they say about these things, your not a petrol head till you’ve had an Alfa.
Hope he puts some proper 19” Ti alloys back on it, I know they’re expensive, even used ones, but they finish these cars off beautifully.
One day I might even find a decent set for mine !.
Great work, cheers for saving it and keep up the great work and videos to help us Alfaholics out.
thanks for watching.
One of my favourite cars.
Enjoyed this one Neil, nice job and looked great at the end. Got to admire your ability to fit and remove a bonnet like that!!
I really struggled, but that's just what comes from being a short arse!!
Hi, cheers. Years of practice.
It is only slightly damaged. Even airbags did not deployed. Definitely worth saving if it is rust free and engine is mechanically ok.
It does have a few mechanical issues but nothing major.
Well done sir!!!!!!!
I have always and only driven Alfa romeo, ( the first one was an A R 1300 GT junior 1968).... I still dream that beauty!!!!!
That's the difference between stuff and labour costs between West and Eastern Europe. Here like only the front bumper is missing, fender and bonnet damaged, maybe also front suspension, and the mechanic says he'd have scrapped it. In Middle Europe, we don't scrap cars unless the roof is broken. In Russia even a roof wouldn't be a problem. They'd just weld two cars together, one with the front ripped off, and one with the rear ripped off.
I feel sorry for the donor car! Where is the love for that :-)
I can’t save em all.🙃🙃
I would have had a hissy fit when that bolt sheared. You’re obviously the better man. Swear I saw steam coming off you in the last speeded up footage. That’s great work.🌪
Turned out to be far easier than I thought it would Neil - nice one !!
Same here.
Hi Neil.
Having owned, loved and maintained nearly a dozen Alfas since the 80s, I have learned so much over the years using every resource available from Haynes Manuals to the official workshop manuals and in recent years, RUclips.
I have to say with all sincerity that your channel has become my go to source for all things Alfa, from inspection advice to significant repairs. It's clear, concise and logically laid out with a mine of information in every episode. I wish I had this years ago.
I really appreciate the massive effort you put in to produce this channel which seems to be something of a labour of love as you're not going to be competing with Justin Bieber for subscriber numbers, you will likely only attract certified Alfaholics like myself. (There's no cure btw)
Anyway, thanks again and keep it up pal.
Cheers. Damien.
thanks for the comment and keep enjoying the videos. thanks
Another job well done, let's hope the owner gets the original alloys refurbished and back on.
You can't get them refurbished with big chunks missing out of them
So satisfying to repair these with a donor car when its mainly just bolt on and align, did a similar repair in May on my red 159.
But PLEASE have the customer to replace those door stoppers, hate it when they go snap-cracle-pop on an otherwise lovely car.
You made that look straight forward, great job. Shame the best alloys for the car were trashed but getting the second best is no hardship. Subbed. 👍
Thanks for watching.
Nice job mate! I hope your client is as healthy as his car is now. All the best for 2020 and beyond, keep saving those Alfas :)
cheers.
Great rebuilt and you always give me more insight on how to strip and repair my Alfa
Great. Thanks for watching.
Top work as always, great to see another Alfa saved :)
thanks for watching.
Well done sir. Good that the guy wanted to keep it. The wheels look nice too.
Happy new year I hope it's a really good one for you.
thank you.
Peter Shilton would have been happy with that save. Well played
Haha thanks.
lovin' your work, great content and workmanship! All Best for 2020
cheers
I think the key to save this car was to find a donor car with the same paint code, non resprayed and with perfect pannels. I'm glad you saved it. I don't want to put you on the spot here, but I'm curious to know how much did that repair cost in the UK.
Quote was with other repair work to not just a body repair.
Great Job! Nice that you saved another TI. They are getting rare.
You don’t scrap Alfa’s unless they’re no longer safe
Nice Fiat Coupe in the background, I’ve had my Yellow 20vt for 15 years now 😁👌🏻
Great work. Another one saved!!
thanks
Totally agree.
Awesome channel, just stumbled on you and subbed immediately. The editing and filming is just spot on. You need more subs!
Subs are welcome. That comes from time, content and people sharing my videos. Thsnks for watching
That is EPIC ! All done by one man ! Perfect ! You are gifted my friend 👍
Great work Niel. The replacement rims look fantastic 👍
Thanks
Amazing work as always, Neil
Great great work and what a lovely looking Alfa!
Enjoyed the video. My 159ti SW was written off the same year I sold it. It was in amazing condition and was only 3 year old. Written off through flood damage. Near broke my heart 💔 it was red too 😭
Thanks for sharing!
Good to see you back Neil.......amazing job!
thank you.
Funny to see how you put the front bumper on, we did it with three people to insure we didn't make a scratch. But in the end it's a nice job and the car looks good again!
Great result I would of rebuilt it as well lovely cars
Thanks a lot for all of what you are sharing to us!
Thanks for watching.
Very interesting. There are so few video’s on Alfa 159’s, don’t understand why. It’s a fantastic car ,
Here's a good one..ruclips.net/video/bFFJxg-ckCA/видео.html
👍🏽👍🏻👍👍🏿
@Mark L sixtyseven Why do great video's always have such bad music? With that video, I would like to hear "Last night a DJ saved my life"
😂😂😂
@@Rupertdepoepert Music is better on this one...ruclips.net/video/gbnT9sbA5rM/видео.html
Owner is lucky. You had everything and exactly the same color. Nice one all praps mate. Greetings from Croatia Zagreb
hi did have to wait for the right car with the same colour code. thanks for watching.
@@ItaliaAutos just keep the good content 👍
Good job man you make it look soooo easy when its not !
@Italia Autos You've done a perfect job! I would agree with you that the car was too damaged to save but the result is more than good!
The car isnt in the best condicion at the exterior but the inside is lovely. When are you going to upload an update at the gtv project?
going to be a while. going to be a while. currently working on the GTA so that should be next week. will prob be the summer before the gtv comes back.
Why is my favourite part of this video when he puts the front bumper back on in 2x speed
You possess admiration for your obvious craftmanship and for me your decision to take on a marque
that is known to be let's say fragile at times as a general rule. These interesting films would be a lot
shorter if you were a VW lover save yourself a packet on screen time.... just sayin'. This is good stuff
though hands down.
thanks
Well done Neil 👌 What you see is what you get.
Great job, you make it look simple but I know it isn't !
I want those roof rails on mine! Things of beauty
I would have liked to have seen you check that all the upper rails were fully square... as you had a reference point on the passenger rail. If this guy had a medical condition causing him to pass out do you want him driving again ?
hi they where fine. i didnt film it. i think other guy is ok.
At 19.14 I thought you was on fire lol looked like steam off your back 😂 nice job mate 👍🏻🤛🏻
it was almost freezing in the unit so its prob my breath.
Brilliant piece of work, well done.
thanks
I love the 159, great job! shame about those rims though, maybe he can score another set.
That would be cool!
I see these occasionally when driving along, (from the driver's seat of our 156 GTA Sportwagon....) and if you see a nice one of these, that is clearly an enthusiast's car - I think they can look really, really special. If we ever lost the GTA for any reason, then would certainly consider one as a replacement. You hear the odd bad thing about them - being difficult to work on and so on, but that didn't look noticeable more difficult than a 156. I am so pleased this one got saved. I do watch your channel (for obvious reasons) and was mildly surprised that you said early on that you thought it was passed saving. Did you say early on in the video what the mileage was - did I miss it...? Great work by the way....
It needing the injectectors and glow plugs aswell
And the dodgy rear repair.
I'm surprised anyone would spend the money but fair enough!👍🏼
GOOD FIX NEIL. "LOVE YOUR WORK"
Thanks
Thought that was a goner nice job Neil
Great save for this Sportswagon
If that was all it took it wasn't to badly damaged. Was there really nothing else bent?
I'm a lot more worried about my precious 156 SW, got rear ended a few weeks ago. Drives just fine but the rear bumper and rear door are in a real mess. Doesn't look as bad from the outside as this 159 did but I'm afraid the entire rear is compressed. Waiting to hear from the insurance company about it and they're taking their time.
Oh dear.
Good job. Been nicer with the same design wheels though.
I agree but it would add £400+500 to his repair budget that he doesn’t have at the moment ,
Probably would have been simpler and cheaper for the owner to just buy himself another diesel sportwagon. Well done for fixing it anyway.
In the market for a tidy 2.4 facelift Brera, give me a shout if you hear or see of any in your trade!
Will do
About 156 more vids pls
Nice work Neil having done the repair do you still feel you wouldn’t have done the repair for yourself? Mileage shouldn’t be a problem mine has 20100 going strong with love and care
Wow beautifull job. You are the best...😀💪👍👏👏👏
Nice job. Liked before watched
thanks
I have a brera and the rear lights are fogging up, please do a video on how to repair them.
Great content as always....
Real alfa romeo rims 😲😔 R.I.P.🙏
Owner lucked out by finding a pedantic professional but won't get that quarter panel fixed right now, huge mistake. Front pieces can always be unbolted and replaced, but rear is critical to have perfect and without rust forming under bondo because you can't.
Very nice build, good job sir!
Love your work and passion for the brand. You could consider getting an apprentice to give you some leverage and time to repair more cars.
That’s what my forklift is. One of my most valuable tools in the work shop.
I remember when my dad bought the 156 9 years ago and people would stare at us like crazy at how good this car looks. And here i am , at 15 years old owning this car and i can’t thank alfa enough
looks perfect
I realise there's a solid chassis underneath but those parts look pretty flimsy. By design of course. Lucky the owner found that donor.
Yeah designed to fall apart on impact. Newer cars are even worse.
Happy New jear too! .. she is a happy 2.0 my 147😊😉💪👍
thanks
Looks brilliant good work .
Thanks
Great work.. All the arms ok after whar has had to be quite a knock?. Thank you for sharing..
Great work! love your channel!
cheers. thanks for watching.
BRAVO!! It was worth it!!!
thanks for watching.
🇮🇹 Italian job viva alfa Romeo simply the best!! (fixed)!!
What a nail! 😂 why do people neglect a car for so long and then want to repair it once they've totally ruined it? The mind boggles
Thanks for watching
@@ItaliaAutos you did a good job making it look good again and I completely understand you not wanting to fix it up if it was your car personally
Great job but needs proper ti alloys back on
It does these where just off the donor car as others where knackered
well done!
didn't the donnor car only deserve another engine? it looked great ..before giving its front to the sw..
Naa it was a JTS. horrible engine. lol
The crash bar wasnt bent by the crash? If so do you need to have it checked by MOT, in case you bent it back.
Can you make a video for bonnet and doors alignment? :) Thank you
Should have went with the engine rebuild on the JTS... the other one looks trashed
Both where trash if I'm honest.
