Lovely clip. In my mind, if Anselmo had not got that horrible disease and died, I think George would still be with us today. It tortured him to the very end. In his "Red Line" interview he clearly cries when speaking about Anselmo. He was his one true love outside of his family.
I read that he used to go and visit Anselmo's mother after Anselmo died and when she was interviewed after George died, she said he used to treat her like she was his mother in law and that he loved Anselmo so much that she believed that if her son had lived, he and George would have been together still - It made me sob. His visiting her always up until he himself died and how she loved George. Too much pain for such a beautiful sensitive soul.
George michael was such a beautiful, beautiful soul. Such a brilliant artist with immense God-given talent. His voice alone could bring you to tears. I adore this artist and have immense respect and admiration for his talent. He genuinely seemed like a generous and loving human being. The fact that he gave so much money away to causes, charities and strangers tells you how much he really cared.
Yeah and what he did for people on an every day basis was just breath taking. He answered a letter I wrote him back in the early 80's b4 internet. We wrote back & forth for awhile and suddenly my daughter had scoliosis so bad that it would have killed her. So, we were setting up the balance (after ins.) To pay payments and suddenly my husband had 2 men walk up to him in hospital. Said they needed our daughter's info & name & ours & they'd help pay on her bill. We'll, we never heard anything. So, worried about what we needed to pay & this was like in the 60 or 70 thousand rang or more. But, the problem was no body sent us anything. So, I call. To be told "Mam, every thing has been paid. You're fine. Just a note saying all my love & prayers. I know only one person able to do that. He had a huge heart & lots of love for his fellow man. Plus I know about him keeping up churches, helping ppl with anything & everything. He was an angel on earth. And, he always denied that he did anything.
An incredibly difficult time for George all round. It speaks volumes for him as a man that he was able to get up on stage and do such a fantastic performance and tribute to Freddie. Both George's partner and Freddie would have been nothing other than immensely proud of him that day. RIP Freddie Mercury, RIP George Michael.
✨ TIENES RAZÓN, MEGAN, Y ES TRISTÍSIMO PORQUÉ " GEORGE MICHAEL 💜" TENÍA LA SONRISA MÁS BELLÍSIMA DEL MUNDO..!!. " FREDDIE MERCURY 👑 Y GEORGE MICHAEL 💜 SON MIS DOS MOUNSTROS MUSICALES MARAVILLOSOS , NO LOS HAY MÁS GRANDEEEEES..!!. BESOS , MEGAN SIEMPRE. Pily🕊️👑🎸💜🔥🐕🇬🇷 🇬🇧 🇪🇦 Europa Madrid España ✨
I tear up every time I watch it. He does such a wonderful job and I don't think anyone else could have sung it as beautifully or on point as George did. Freddie was surely smiling watching from above.
All credit to yo after you received the news that your loved one was dying from his diagnosis... yet you gave a tribute to the beloved Freddie Mercury. It says everything about how compassionate and what a truly loving person that you are. Much respect to you. ❤
What a humble , kind, sincere man, sharing something so personal and honest amidst his global stardom. So massively talented. I'm sure Freddie would have been deeply touched by George's words.
George would have made a brilliant show even if he didn't do all that rehearsal. He is the greatest anyway, they don't, and no one ever will be able to sing like him ever again
That song is by a country mile the best live performance I have ever seen. When you hear the back story and understand the emotion that went into that performance, it is absolutely mind-blowing, he never left anything on the shelf here he gave everything
George Michael was amazing and beautiful in so many ways. He had the best talent of anyone and his voice just melted your heart. Every time I feel bad I just turned him on and listen to him , just his voice and videos I love him and I always will. I will never love anyone as much as him. he was really fantastic. I am so amazed every time I see him and just when I think I couldn’t love him anymore and be more impressed than I am But I always and more in love and impressed by him
One of the most gorgeous men who ever lived. I was aware of his learning his partner was HIV+ and this was his most fabolous performance imo. I'm still looking for my Somebody to Love. 💕 RIP Freddie and George. 🙏 Hope I get to meet you both when it's my time.
Time - 13 years or more or less - doesn't matter when you have lost someone you loved so, it's not surprising he got emotional talking about this as he did. Just always wanted to give him a hug when he spoke about Anselmo. He was so real and honest about his pain, fears, insecurities and joys - just honest and so lovely as a human being.
Only Georgeeee Michael could have done it!!!.. No one else!!!...It was a divine appointment and thank God he answered the call because he was magnificent!!!! I get teary eyed and chilllsssss every time I watch him perform it🙏😇🥰😍❤🔥🔥🔥
he knew that he should have to do the most impossible thing: perform a Freddie's song. George was a great singer and human being. but Freddie IS an ALIEN. just returned to his planet.
Something he did exclusively for VH1 Classic. He also talks about his feelings on music videos and being on camera in a part broadcast separately from the Queen portion.

His performance of 'Somebody to Love' was OUTSTANDING!
Era l'unico che poteva avvicinarsi a Freddie Mercury e lo ha dimostrato nel tribute. Altra voce stupenda che ci ha lasciato. 🖤🖤🖤

Beautifully said. George was an angel. A gift to us all. It warms my heart every time I think of him. Makes me believe.

He loved Anselmo so much....
This loss is still so painful…as is Freddie’s

Whatta beautiful man. Yep, he "stole the show" that day alright 👍
Rest in Peace, George... Our loss is the heavenly choir's gain... 🙏🏼

🍃🌹🍃🕊THE GEORGE MICHAEL 💘
🍃🌎🌟🍃🌏🌟🍃🌍🌟
He sang Somebody To Love magnificently.
There was nothing not worth loving about this man
I was at the concert and GM was by far the best there. I’m not his biggest fan but credit where it’s due.
What a voice,to do credit to Freddie's Somebody to love and Elton's Don't let the sun in one lifetime is amazing
Great singers & friends❤🎉
Watched George in Vienna 2007. So great.
Generoso, brillante, con portentoza voz en resumen un gran ser humano ❤🎉
I think he would have done a spectacular job even if he only had an hour of rehearsal. That man had a fantastic voice.
George perfomance was the best, he didn't imitate Freddie but the power in his voice was still the same
Tão triste ver, claramente, o quanto isso o machucou para sempre 😢
Muy buena persona, supo valorar a los oteis talentos musicales...
I just know George reunited with Anselmo in the afterlife, where they finally get to love each other for all eternity 💕
he knew that he should have to do the most impossible thing: perform a Freddie's song. George was a great singer and human being. but Freddie IS an ALIEN. just returned to his planet.
💔
George Michael, un gran hombre, un gran ser humano que pese a toda su fama y éxito, nunca dejo de ser sensible y empático con los demás. 🙏😇🥰
I read that Freddie Mercury is the most recognized name in the world.
Queen's song, Don't Stop Me Now was voted the most favorite song on Earth.
They named a planet, an element & even a god after him.

thought you might want to know that your description is incorrect - the Freddie tribute was in 1992, not 1993.
Thank you very much! Just corrected it.
Where can I watch the full interview?
Which interview was this? I'd like to find the full interview.
Info of this interview?
Something he did exclusively for VH1 Classic. He also talks about his feelings on music videos and being on camera in a part broadcast separately from the Queen portion.
Both gone too soon
More like gets emotional while talking about Freddy. His partner found out they had hiv the day before Fred died.
we need anther live aid no?!......
He was a narcissist.
That was his problem.
Who George or Freddy?
One of the most gorgeous men who ever lived. I was aware of his learning his partner was HIV+ and this was his most fabolous performance imo. I'm still looking for my Somebody to Love. 💕
RIP Freddie and George. 🙏 Hope I get to meet you both when it's my time.
