    To all American viewers - Red Nose Day is part of a charity called Comic Relief, where people wear red nose badges to support the event. The last event in 2015 raised around £78 Million ($96 Million) on the night. And since it was founded in 1985, the charity in the UK has raised in total £1,047,083,706 (around $1.3 Billion) for disadvantaged people in the United Kingdom and Africa. So it is something we brits are proud of actually. The next event will be held in March this year 2017.

    • @johnking5174
      @johnking5174 7 лет назад +42

      Yes, but the British version was the first. And for a small island, the money raised each Red Nose Day is just amazing.

    • @NDMeow93
      @NDMeow93 7 лет назад +14

      Yes, you do, but Comic Relief is a British charity. In America they raised the equivalent of £18 million, which is nothing compared with the £78 million raised by the U.K., especially when you take into consideration population and wealth. Does the US have a different version, as in a day where TV is devoted to a particular charity and everyone fundraises for it? All the kids celebrate it and do what they can to contribute? It would be cool if you did...

    • @Luckbeats
      @Luckbeats 7 лет назад +17

      And 90% of it goes straight back into the governments funds each year while the children continue to be abused and starve. You really think if we were raising 77 million pounds a year there wouldn't be a dramatic decrease disadvantaged children in the U.K. And Africa. Same goes for cancer research. We are only funding the government but U.K. Are blind to it

    My father was a roadie for George Michael some years ago, and I will always be grateful to him for giving me the chance to meet George in person. I was 12 years old at the time, and I saw George backstage. He immediatly turned his attention to me as my father introduced. Despite the fact that there were tons of people present in the room, and many journalists wanted his attention, he spend almost 20 minutes talking to me! And though I was nervous, he just smiled and kept asking me about my musical preferences and stuff. I got to tell him that "Bad Boys" was my favorite song of his, and he was happy to hear that. He thought it was refreshing, since most people always said "Faith" or "Wake Me Up". 🙌
    I will always remember him, and will never forget how he reserved time for an annoying little kid he didn't know at all. But it also makes his death that much harder to cope with. R.I.P Legend 😢

      Word Unheard Thanks for the kind words. I've always respected my father immensely for having brought me into his work. I mean, the koncert-business is a very darkened world most of the time, and most roadies keep it separated from family and so on. But he said that he didn't wanna miss out on my childhood, so he always brought me along when there was time. He said he wanted me to know every side of the music-business, and that he wanted to make sure I got a great musical "education" .I'd like to think I succeeded there ;)

    George was never a joke to anyone who loved him. Whether you loved him for his music, and never met him, you knew he wasn't some egotistical pop star.
    George felt deeply and cared about people. All the generous giving he did to strangers was done on the down low. He gave his time and wealth to people he wanted to help and thank.
    I love George for his gentle soul. You can tell when he was hurt, and it was so sad to see him so hurt.
    It feels like it's been so much more than 4 years since he's past.
    I wish there had been a tribute in his honor, by artists. It's wrong that there wasn't a tribute by musicians around the world to celebrate his life. I hope one day there will be.

    This couldn't have resonated more with me. I feel exactly what Corden felt, listening to George's songs. Songs like One More Try, Where Did Your Heart Go, etc. - you just feel a connection with George himself that makes you feel like you weren't alone anymore and knew what to say to get you believing again. Being gay myself, An Easier Affair struck an even deeper chord. He's the reason why I sing the way that I do - I use his breathing patterns and in public karaoke I even do his accent when I sing his songs lol. I still miss him today. Here I am, it's nearly midnight, searching for RUclips videos about him and watching this. Thanks for saying what you said, James. Sharing this George Michael connection with you is ever lasting. George is the love of my life. He was there for me through everything. My father’s death hit me hard and Jesus To A Child was like therapy for me in those dark days. When I was a teenager Wham! songs were my energy release. And when I loved someone he expressed my feelings in his songs. I grew up with him and his art. That’s what he means to many of my generation. His voice was sublime live or in a studio. Song writing and production talents were one of the best ever. His honesty and open heart made us get everything he did and feel it. RIP GM.

    What I find even more wonderful about George Michael, was how charitable he was! He would give $1000s to people he didn't even know, out of the blue, just because he saw them on tv or heard about them somehow, needing money for something important, like surgery or some treatment! And he did most of it without anyone knowing about it! Like working at a soup kitchen, and telling those who ran it, not to tell anyone! So you know he did this stuff out of the kindness of his heart, not for attention, like many famous people do!

      @celt67 7 лет назад +16

    The Soundtrack to my life. George's music spoke to me at so many different periods of my life. Loved Wham and The Dance/Pop of Faith. But, Listening Without Prejudice, Older, and Patience just crushed me. Incredible songwriting and emotion. Always loved this man, despite all the demons he was facing through the years. I thought, eventually he would be happy and start making music again. A week before his death, I was actually talking to my wife about him. How I was excited to know he would be making a comeback in 2017 and hopefully touring in support. When I heard the news on Christmas, I was not shocked, but I was feeling deep sadness. George Michael's talent was rare. The voice of an angel, words that affect your mind and heart, and from what I've heard a humble, giving soul. He will be truly missed.

      He has no peace. He has no suffering.Death is the ultimate END. I know people mean well when they say:'I hope he/she has found the happiness they couldn't find in life '. I call bullshit on that. In death, you experience nothing: you don't exist. Peace is something to be attained and experienced in life. So instead of praying for the salvation of those who already have fallen by the wayside and have died; focus on those who are living and headed in the same direction and struggling. George's final days were in isolation, struggling. And then he gave up. Nobody checked on him. People should have been praying for his inner peace in life rather than praying for his peace in death. There is none to be had; Death is just death.

    I have not laughed like this in awhile! What a skit! I never saw it before. Now I find out George Michael was the first performer to do Carpool Karaoke! How awesome of him to share himself like that! What a great guy! I absolutely loved him! Now my heart aches knowing he is gone forever. I had a secret crush on him when I first saw his Careless Whisper video. I knew then he was gay. I just knew it in my gut. When he confirmed it years later, I was not surprised or upset at all. He was a gorgeous man who I always wanted to know what cologne he wore, so I could buy it for my boyfriend to wear. He was a terrific performer with an incredible voice that gave of himself and filled my life with memories listening to his songs! I now can add laughing to my memories!

    This was so heartfelt by James it brought tears to my eyes, his pain was real. This is my all time favourite carpool, the original and the best for me. George was such a beautiful man with a big heart and a smile that lit up the room. Heaven has gained a very special angel 😇 and we have lost a really great man. 🙏🏻
