Incredible - and so easy to forget he's 23 or 24 years old in this clip. Few people at 40 or 50 older have anything close to the confidence and charisma and gravitas that he had in his mid-twenties.
For me, George was one of the most important and brilliant artists of the 20th century. He managed almost effortlessly to touch people with his voice and his lyrics so that tears ran down them. So deep, so intense, so brilliant. I will forever miss this brilliant artist. His interpretation of "The Grave" made me understand for the first time what a mother must feel when her child goes to war. And so there is a close connection to almost every one of his songs. Thank you for this gift George.
Whenever I watch George in rehearsals I'm just ah-struck. George is just amazing! His voice is always so on point, and his musicality is phenomenal & working with his band, he works with them, not above them. Know wonder his musical family stayed with him for so long, & for so many years! Even being that music was his baby, putting everything he had into his music, he never was condescending or unkind, yet I've also seen fun & joking about. What a group of wonderful people! I guess that when you are around a truly talented & wonderful man, who wouldn't want to work & just be around him? George touched so many wonderful people, It's truly a shame that anyone would want to crush him down. This makes my heart ache even more. When i thought i was okay and past this, i watch this and the tears come back. He is such a beautiful soul, beautiful both inside and outside. I said this before (many times) and i will say it again, the wrong soul left us on that Christmas day.

@TheEnzyme94 My point still stands? This was shown on the SouthBank Special in September 1990. The C2C started in January 1991. Just because the footage is old doesn’t mean it couldn’t have been shown in the documentary. Artists don’t typically start rehearsing for a tour that’s 5 months away
