i was standing near marc brownstein for this show and i remember him doing some weird windmill dance during this and slapping some ladies beer out of her hand. twas hilarious
John Fishman has no groove here. I've heard from Phish fans he's deteriorated over the past 10 years. This is 2011...? He's playing the verses lifeless and flat. Very little power and feel that this song requires from the drums to drive it home. Disappointing from that perspective. His drumming sounds disinterested with low energy. Maybe he was tired or just doesn't enjoy playing this song. James Gang Live version of this is absolutely stellar.
That may be your view, and I wont argue with your assessment, but I personally dont see it. I think they are all brilliant musicians. They are definitely past the peak years of the nineties, but still jam.
