I love how everey now and then the light show highlights the pack of zombies behind the stage waiting for the jam to end before they descend on the crowd.
Phish is a Good Band
They Rock and Funk really hard
i ate acid there
A haiku about lsd and phish.
Awsome Story Terrence tell me another juan
Love it. Poetic and straight to the point.
Love it
Robert Frost could learn much from you my friend
Mike’s Torture Groove. Love ❤️ it. Thanx for posting this.
Am rolling tonight and had to give a shout out of love to Harpua. I've never loved a stranger so intensely, thank you for the countless hours of joy you have brought to my little screen.
My head almost exploded when they transitioned from I Am Hydrogen into Weekapaug. Proud to say I was there!
Most underrated band in the univererse. Light show with music peaks are incredible .L8ke the Dead you gotta experience them at least once,,
Underrated lmao
Not sure I would call them underrated, more like under the radar, and thank God for that. I would be heartbroken if top forty djs killed my favorite band.
some of the tightest jamming I have seen in recent years. love it, from start to finish. also mikes bass intro into weekapaug is the shit.
How could anyone ever watch this and NOT be in awe?! Is it just me...?
I love when I find your comments. So many wonderful memories with you, man I miss you dude. Hope things are good with you. And to reply to your comment, hell yeah this Mike's chalkdust weekapaug is fucking awesome from start to finish, best opening bass to weekapaug I have ever heard. Also the guy who posts these videos, Harpua, has the best quality videos on the internet, hands down. Hope our paths cross again sometime in the near future. I love you brother, and I am not embarrassed to say it, I had so much fun with you over the years. That night we rolled on those green clovers was probably the most fun I ever had rolling, you made me laugh all night long, so much fun. Peace.
No. Not just you!!
Sick Mike's Jam for sure
Ya I was there
4:06 - 5:06
Page just TURNS THE SKELETON KEY. It's really incredible.
Those voicing simply couldn't be more closed or jazzy.
Seriously, what a freaking master of his craft.
And good on Gordo et Ernesto for listening!
I love that transition from Chalkdust Torture to I Am Hydrogen. Trey starts playing and everyone else is like "Okay, I guess this is happening now" and laughing their ass off about it.
Absolutely, but how about Mike's bass line leading into weekapaug, it is my absolute favorite. Also sandwiching a chalk dust in the middle of mikes/hydrogen/weekapaug is about as cool as it gets. It's all my favorites smashed into one amazing song.
Slice spoonful of mountain jam I am hydrogen love it
Dear lord.... Trey absolutely crushing this Mike's.
It's funny how when Phish actually stops worrying about being weird they can really rock!!
Mc Ren see 1997 Phish..That is when the phenom we know of today took off
your eierd is my prog rock heaven - enjoy dude!😉
The fact that you are a phish fan with the screen name mc ren, makes you instantly my best friend and kindred spirit, two of my absolute faves, I have to believe you also love Jerry Garcia, and if so that's three major cool points in my book.
That's strange Tucson Arizona Sonoran desert 🏜️ Jah rastafari Jah jerrymylitis trey mazing Grace
Meant to ask you, is mc ren your favorite nwa member?, he has always been mine, and i feel he is seriously underrated. I do admit, it is hard to stand out in a group with legends like dre, ice cube, and easy muthafuckin e.
Thanks for taking the time to film and upload Harpua great stuff
Man how Trey harnesses the power of tension and release in chalkdust is amazing
Hell yeah. I fell in love with his guitar playing the very first time I saw them in 1994, and my love has continued to grow over the years. The whole band is amazingly talented, but I find myself mesmerized by trey about 85% of the show. He is absolutely masterfull, just the way he strums there is so much chop and power, I love it.
Absolutely!!!!
@@benringenberg2394same here, I agree with all of that. What was the date in 94?
By far best stretch of songs of the whole entire NYE run! Good job boys!
Great recording with great sound. Thanks for posting.
Chalkdust into Hydrogen- one of the best I've ever heard and been am a old long time fan
Sometimes, you just see a possum, and that buddy needs a bit of help
..
I will always help the possum
thanks!
Great Upload! Thank You!
Great performance!!! Bravo!
5:00 - 5:06 is one of the best licks I've ever heard!
Fran Ra he’s talking about treys arrangement of notes going into that resolution. It is fire
Thomas Markowitz this guy gets it. ^
Phucking love this Jam!!! :))))
This is a top 3 performance of this song. This is PHISH. At their best. Thanks for uploading this.⚡
By god this is just divine
Sickest moment was when Mike faced me during his solo in lawn on my bday!
That pretty darn good! DARN good!!!!
Hello I’m from 12 years in the future, the year 2024. This is still darn good. Gosh darn good.
Mikes bass around the 17 min transition is ridiculous.
Best band in the land
This was soooo 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Page gets MVP for the Weekapaug.
This is how its done. Way to go guys!
Heaven on earth
loved the stream when the segue from torture into hydrogen was happening page jon and mike were all luaghing looking at trey
I think this was in the top three jams of the 4 show run.
Meta
Mike needs this bass rig back in rotation asap
I think phish are the bestest band in the whole world i've been able to maintain doing all kinds of shit all night long listening
Still love Phish but these days are looong gone. Damn Trey was good.
Amazing
Phish bringing me through this road trip. Mikes>Hydrogen>Weekapaug all day long

20:10-25:00 straight up fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Ah, fuck it...that was fucking DAMN GOOD!
Truth.
fuckin eh i cant wait to see the phish agian
MY FIRST SHOW - 1994 UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE - DOPE!!! THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN BACK SINCE THOUGH :(
Outgrew that venue about 20 years ago
I'm pretty sure Harris and Scott were at this show for Analyze Phish
i would imagine under ordinary circumstances, sitting behind the stage at a show is probably a drag. but at a phish show, maybe not so much.
agreed, the next night Piper was a monster as well
I like how during Mike's Song Trey gives our heads permission to expand to an unacceptable and intolerable level, then throws us into a frenzy square dance with Chalk Dust.
I was there!
Trey blasting champers with those guitar licks.
+Stephen Leous Chompers**
sizzling Mikes!!!
YESSSSSSSSS
Lol I was here for something else.
I thought a Nintendo band was performing and actually got to perform Mike's Song from WarioWare live. Nice light show tho
Hi
Same XD
that is making me laugh hysterically. how much did you watch?
About the first 20-30 seconds and then scrolled around and was like “huh” XD
Fucking incredible. Never seen Phish, I'm in the wrong country.
TRUTH BE TOLD.
The true abject reality of is, that they allow you to pull them into your space, wherever that may be.
Not creating yours. Positive proof of an alternative universe!
That sounds like something Alan Watts would say.
Jesus fucking Christ I think my head just exploded.
Wow, nice! It does seem there is some sync issue between audio and video though
Wow. They blew up that building on that one.
Hell fuckin yeah. This whole night just rocks the house. They were certainly feeling it and the setlist was lovely as well
Just wait till those lil eichmanns hear this chrunchy (weekapaug) groove
By chance, are you the dude who runs around festivals wearing a cap'n crunch hat? Some dude ran up to me after a moe. set at Scamp and goes "that set was exxxxxtra crunchy" and ran away. Fuckin hilarious.
Ha hell na but that is funny as shit, na they said that on the southpark episode where hippies take over classic
You sir are hilarious. Awesome south park. They played that on screen at festival 8, lot of fun
MIKE SLAPPA DA BASS
Harris and Scott are in that crowd somewhere.
dirty as fuck i love this band so much
Jamming celestial -- why the lyrics at all?????
what kind of camera do you use man? Awesome work.
And the panties go flying (literally) at 17:20
This shit takes me back, fuck yeah!! :{}
Damnnn. On Mike's Song and Chalk Dust, Trey looks like he is just straight vomiting music. The notes are tumbling out with crazy force... Were it not for I Am Hydrogen, he might have collapsed.
Cool vid, but needs less zoom on band and more full stage lights. Just saying
Anyone getting the audio/video not syncing up right?
Unh! That's what's up.
into it
trey is a jedi
35 don't like??? Ummm How?
@FluffityAntelope haha that was awesome!! i know exactly what youre talking about
@billfrank9393 I have to disagree. I assume you're talking about Mikes into CDT. Wasn't so much of a segue, but rather a startup that had a very tiny break. Definately different, and yes out of the box, but i don't feel it was forced there. Compared to the trans into Hydro, it isn't as smooth, but still not forced. I was standing behind the soundboard that nite, and it was top shelf shit throughout the show.
Yeah what happened to all his Phish Videos? Why did he take them down :(
Wish I could hear page a little better
people who listen to phish = people on acid, people that want to do acid, people who came off acid and people who make acid.
🍄💦👣💙🐦🌍🍄🐟🐟🐟🐟💙🍄
first 2 nights were better than last 2 nights.
i wish Trey could pull off smooth transitions like that Chalkdust>Hydrogen all the time, these days his transitions are too forced and rushed most of the time.
Joy phish hershey
yo
Yo
Many people are under the misconception that "Mike's Song" is simply referring to Phish's bassist, Mike Gordon. In reality, it's a reference to ex Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee because, as you know, the members of Phish are hardcore conservative republicans. I'll be back with another fun fact after these messages!
Mike wrote dat..
I know. I was being silly. I was probably high. Don't even quite remember writing that.
Hahaa its all good, before it was mikes song it actually referred to as "Mike Wrote That" Or "Mike Wrote Dat" Or "Mike ro dot" true story.
I've also seen "Micro Dot"
Are Phish conservative republicans? That would make my day!
Sorry but this is the tightest ive ever heard them play, cash me ouside
There once was a band named Phish,
They granted my most every wish.
I went to a show, no one was doing blow
So I took a few bong hits and said "Fuck it"... Oh wait, wrong limerick. I am so stoned right now.
16:54 gives me a semi
luv some red lights, thats when there r getting it and putting it down son!!!
ripping
People who dont enjoy Phish are cool but they just close themselves off to traveling on waves of sound and the idea that instantaneous creation and story telling is a weakness. Its the difference for me in loving what you do and having to work. Just trying to create something different and unpredictable with a massive crowd of people all influencing the directions the sounds play out. Sure all musicians do this to an extent but its pretty much a social experiment in a democratic fashion but still lacks the true integrity of a democracy. But that is why choice is protected.
