I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say-Hymn Sing

Verse 1:
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto Me and rest.
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down
Thy head upon My breast!"
I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary, and worn, and sad;
I found in Him a resting place
And He has made me glad.
Verse 2:
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
Stoop down, and drink, and live!"
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that lifegiving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in Him.
Verse 3:
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"I am this dark world's Light.
Look unto Me; thy morn shall rise,
And all thy day be bright!"
I looked to Jesus and I found
In Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that light of life I'll walk

In my piano teacher's Lutheran church, she plays a setting of this hymn with the first 2 lines of each verse in the minor key and the last 2 major. When you look at the words of the hymn it kinda fits in, sorrowful condemnation and how we have disappointed God in the minor key....but hope for us in JESUS CHRIST in the major. @@ICanPlayPiano It's interesting to me that the tune I played is not one of the ones she played. Which I guess makes sense, given the fairly common meter of the words. Thanks for sharing your teacher's video with me. She's delightful!
