Come, Ye Thankful People, Come-Hymn Sing
Four verses: Three in Eb; one in F
Verse 1:
Come, ye thankful people, come,
Raise the song of harvest home.
All is safely gathered in
Ere the winter storms begin.
God, our Maker, doth provide
For our wants to be supplied.
Come to God's own temple, come;
Raise the song of harvest home.
Verse 2:
All the world is God's own field,
Fruit unto His praise to yield;
Wheat and tares together sown,
Unto joy or sorrow grown.
First the blade, and then the ear,
Then the full corn shall appear.
Lord of harvest, grant that we
Wholesome grain and pure may be.
Verse 3:
For the Lord our God shall come,
And shall take His harvest home;
From His field shall in that day
All offenses purge awa...

It Is Well With My Soul

It Is Well With My Soul This was my cousin, Irene's, favorite hymn. This arrangement is played in loving memory of her life and legacy. My craft is very different from all of those she mastered in her lifetime, including loving dearly those around her. I hope this blesses listeners in some way. It is well with my soul . . . for He is my Savior! Words: Horatio G. Spafford, 1873; Music: Philip P....

There's Something About That Name Such a loved chorus! I felt I had to start this one off with an arrangement (I'll do a hymn sing version tomorrow or Saturday). I'm thankful for the name of Jesus, and how calling on Him brings healing, peace, joy, communion, and so much more. May we revere and call on His name always! Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! There's just something about that name! Master, Savior,...

The Steadfast Love of the Lord/Great Is Thy Faithfulness

The Steadfast Love of the Lord/Great Is Thy Faithfulness This week an old Maranatha chorus (turns out it's part of another song that I honestly can't remember) has been circling my mind, and I had a little time this afternoon to get it out before what I thought was a cold brought me to a place where I couldn't do it. I'm pretty sure that when we put scripture to music that's singable, it remain...

Morning - Monday - meditating, hearing the words as you play and the noggin goes to 'O the height and depths of mercy . . . the fullness of His love'. AND we can fully know those depths no other way but by the blood of His Son. This is all our 'hope and peace' (and more!) I need the pardon, 'ev'ry hour'. I thank Him for His Gift and for the gift He's given you and other musicians who faithfully and humbly lift Him up.
I’m in need of His pardon each and every day. Thanks for listening and responding, Steve. We are truly blessed!

Good morning! Where do you get your sheet music? I love the arrangements. Thank you for using your gift.
Patricia, I’m largely working from memory-hymns I learned long ago-then adding some improvised parts to keep the rhythm going. I guess you’d say it’s my “arrangement,” but it’s not written out. Thanks for listening!

Me, too, Brenda! Thanks for listening!
can I have a copy of a piano piece of the song?
Rollie, I was doing it from memory, with a little bit of improvisation. So I don’t have the music. But you might look at the Hymnary site to see where you can get the music. Thanks so much for listening!
This song has such a beauty and restfulness to it--in both the music and the words. I was blessed.❤
It’s a great hymn! Thanks for listening!
Thank you. Though forgotten, not lost - (like the invitation of the 3rd vs.)
I get it, Steve. It’s been on my mind for a few weeks, so it’s fresh.
Hello Geri! I have never heard this song before??
It’s probably not in a lot of hymnals. Our church’s publishing company adopted it, so it was probably written by someone from our denomination.
Amen! Sing and shout the victory!!
Yes, Delphine! Shout for His glory!
Thank you Geri.
You’re welcome, Delphine! Thanks for listening!
