Cruzan26 It all depends on what part of your chest you are trying to target, your experience level and the actual programme you are doing 💪🏾 I’ve made some of my greatest gains without doing dips for a year. -Ed
artandtech7211 Actually, contrary to popular belief they are quite useless at engaging the lower chest. What they are very good at engaging is the mid chest especially the outermost portion (where the chest inserts into the shoulder). Straight bar dips however can engage the lower chest better. Top tip; it’s easiest to train the lower chest on a pull-up bar. -Ed
I like dips and i’m pretty good at them but sometimes I notice that I have been slacking on them. In my oppinion dips are the best way to grow strong triceps in calisthenics. And a great video Austin!

Use with incline or not tell me what you think

I can do twenty dips but I can't do a single elbow extension pushup? You sure that's easier man? If their tricep is weak, I'm pretty sure that individual won't be able to carry their whole bodyweight with just the tricep.. just saying. (also I always lockout with my dips)
I found doing dips after chest toward the end of a workout is of course harder and I'm not able to do nearly as many as I know I can do. How does doing them towards the end of a workout knowing I can't do as many hurt or help my chance of gains? I usually do several variations of pushups (weighted, wide, incline diamond, archer), pull ups (wide grip and weighted ) before I hit dips. By the time I hit dips my chest and tri' s are shot!
I have been doing calisthenics for 3 months my diet is good,my sleeping schedule is good,and I do it everyday but only my chest got a little bigger but I haven't been seeing results anymore.
doing it everyday will not help you...find a good workout routine and do it 3 or 4 times a week and don't be strict with your diet,just try to eat as healthy as you can...hope i helped you:)
People don't realise, it's not only what you have to do in an excersice , it's also what you don't have to do to increase the quality of your reps on whatever you are doing.

Ya tricep extentions are good for strengthening triceps but you need better forearm and shoulders to perform it correct or you will not get a tough tricep

Mahatma_Gönndir Np, thats what shifts the focus from your chest to tricep, (if your elbows straight). Leaning foward targets more chest leaning straight focuses more on triceps.

Well I can do 40 full range dips but have tiny triceps so I don't know

JLethic obviously you have better genetics I seem to get strong at bodyweight moves and not grow how many dips can you do?

I do 200 reps of parallel dips every morning. It's my favorite workout period.

What about each different workout sessions in a week working on your full body. So like Monday arms and upper body, Tuesday legs. Etc.
