Depends on the needs, I use Lego as a fully functional PC tablet (light office work and reading) and PS3 emulation which cannot be done by Steamdeck. If simply for modern gaming, better portability, long battery life Steam Deck oled may be a better option.
As one reviewer put it, the steam deck is a console first, a computer second, while the Legion Go is computer first and console second. The steam deck had better battery life, is more ergonomic, and has a more console like experience. And it's way cheaper. LeGo is way more powerful, has a beautiful big display, and runs games that aren't compatible with the steam deck. As a long time PC gamer, the windows jank doesn't bother me, in fact, the huge touch screen goes a long way, but if you want a more console like experience, you can anyways make it load steam big picture mode on boot, make the windows shell open steam big picture mode, or add a steamos-like dual boot, such as Bazzite or Chimera.
How about fan noise?
