Actually glad to see this video, W take, feel like everyone expected the LegGo to be as good as the Ally and Steam Deck from day 1, but it's taken the Ally 7 months to get where it's at and the steam deck has been out for almost 2 years. And with constant feedback from Lenovo and a good road map with consistent updates I feel this could be one of the best handhelds! Getting mine next week!
I know this comes up a lot but I have never had stick drift on any controller or handheld device ever and I am going way back to Spectrum and C64 days for gaming, so have used a hella lot of controllers/joysticks. That's a long time and maybe I am doing something right, but stick drift is never something that concerns me.
The great thing about the GO is that it is plug and play with an eGpu enclosure like my old Razer Core X Chroma, you only need to install Gpu drivers and that is it. An external display is good for work and hardcore gaming. Becomes a full fledged battle station. I have seen only about 15 percent reduction in performance when I have compared the hardware to a similar old school desktop setup. I have tested a lot of hardware myself during the years and I find this to be my best setup. The combination replaced my desktop and laptop and I sold them both. It was nice to able to put cash into savings. The GO is perfect for me considering the size, 8.8 inches of good quality screen. Taking entertainment wehere I want to.
My legion go is getting delivered tomorrow. I mostly play on Series X but got a steam deck for work (i work nightshift security and need to pass time). I was wary of ditching the Steam deck for this but it does look like a beast, plus it has game pass and my "play anywhere" games.

There is 100% certainty about this, because the display installed on the GO has the hole for the camera (on the right) and it has all four round corners, exactly as the Y700 display.
You’re right but they didn’t cheap out by investing on new screen print for the glass on top. I doubt the hole cutout was left just because of tha . Masking isn’t very expensive at all . The legion go power consumption is crazy. I have 2 portable batteries that are 25000mah each and between them I can barely get 6 hours. But it is by far my favorite device to use. I've been on it more than my gaming desk top
It uses the exact same APU as is in the ROG Ally. The screen will use slightly more battery because it's not a VRR display but I can assure you the 50Whr battery vastly more than compensates for the refresh rate staying at 144hz instead of dropping it to 60hz. The power consumption is fine you just need to know how to configure it to what is appropriate. Don't go cranking it to a custom TDP which will use anywhere between 32-37W of power or running at 240fps with an uncapped frame-rate. If you're not getting good battery life it's because have configured something incorrectly.
My LGo came in a few days ago. Unfortunately it is being returned. I LOVE the screen. But the coil whine on the fan is the most uncomfortably annoying sound. The out of the box experience of the Legion Go is terrible. They have made improvements since, but it's still rubbish. Once you get used to it, however, and learn how it works, it's a pretty good device. I'm not sure I'd describe it as a handheld though. It's ok on a desk, with the controllers detached but that's about it. That said, I'm happy with mine.

@@chrisb7348 I have one, and I mean, it could, but I would recommend it as a laptop for studying/working. If you really want to use it for non gaming stuff you should think of it as a tablet replacement instead. It has a nice touch screen, can watch movies, can play games and so on. I think it needs vrr. I am happy with the rog ally. But I wanted the go because of the controllers for one, and I thought It would be more powerful.
It’s the same chip
@@theo5675 nah . It runs games worse because vrr is a game changer. Starfield is okay on the ally on the go it's not okay it's bad
Dude vrr doesn’t do sht. I have both ally and go. I dont play with Ally anymore. Its all in your mind, vrr dont do anything
@@loitersquadX give it time it will outperform the Rog ally faste ram man better performance
@@loitersquadXTried starfield today, and it runs exactly like it did on my legion 5 pro rtx 3070, before I sold it in favor of the go. The only difference is I play on medium instead of high, but on such a small screen you doesn't notice anyway.
Bro plays Call of Duty better on the Lenovo Legion GO than I do on my laptop
Can you play with an Xbox controller ?
Yup!
Watching this video while playing on go 😎
Nice 😂
Love my Legion Go!
Have you been shadowed banned in MWIII? I wanna play it on the go and I'm interested in buying a Lenovo Go but I dont wanna buy it just to get shadowed banned.
Also Have you tested Geforce Now?
That only happens on the ALLY
@@joetaylor6117 Not true. one of most popular reddit posts of the legion go is about how people were getting banned when playing CoD
Dude, have you tried Battlefield 2042 on this thing? It is mind blowing!
Great video! Subscribed 🙏
Thanks
Been a sub since you started the channel with the galaxy Note You have always been💯 videos. I appreciate that much bro good video as always.💪🏾 and glad to see your growth
I appreciate the long time support it means a lot
@@CJKnowsTECHabsolutely bro 🙏🏾
Next video "I was right" all these creators making multiple videos just to cash in on the views lol.
I feel like a lot more videos are gonna come out like this
Agreed.
The legion go is too awesome true story
debating on pick one up in 4 hours...
Great review! Subscribed
FPS mode is nice with World of Warships
you're not Markus Brownlee....
♥♥♥♥♥ love your vids CJ :)
Thank you
Fire 🔥 video
Gonna get me one
Typical RUclipsr video after 30 days….. “why I was wrong” “why I’m return it” “why I reordered” ufff
👏🏻 it's called fickle lol
So we aren't allowed to change our opinion? That said, an obvious clickbait title. That said, researching these I want to know if people change devices and why.
@@JamieR So predictable ha ha
Typical hater😂😂😂😂
@@Gunsmok3-b1p Typical obtrusive
i see you got the packet burst issue to cj and i know you ent got no shitty internet cod need to address this man but turning on on demand texture streaming makes it less laggy
Tbr everyone is they trashed it in the beginning with clickbait titles and either sent it back or grew to love it. Mind you everyone no device is perfect in the beginning thats why people usually wait a yr to cop electronics
I saw a lot of "returning" videos but when I grabbed it I already knew Lenovo had plans to address certain things in future updates so my intentions are to be patient and see where they take it...
Do you think this will be a Best purchase
Use the thunderbolt 4 Lenovo dock it works perfect.
Who is the best at playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3?
Great review!
But why does everything you say sound like a question LOL
There is a difference of 250 usd between them, which is better
Hey man. Do you think it can replace a laptop, with the right accesories ?
I dont have one yet, but you can get it connected to a monitor and connect a keyboard and mouse. So it could probably even replace a pc.
@RealNotGoldArc that's what I'm asking. If I want it let's say not only for gaming but for everyday use for the uni let's say, do u think it would be a nice fit ?
@@chrisb7348
I have one, and I mean, it could, but I would recommend it as a laptop for studying/working. It is primarily a gaming device, and can easily replace a gaming laptop (I sold my gaming laptop in favor of the go), but I wouldn't recommend it as an everyday laptop. If you really want to use it for non gaming stuff you should think of it as a tablet replacement instead. It has a nice touch screen, can watch movies, can play games and so on. But just like a tablet, it is not a replacement for a studying/working laptop even with a keyboard attached
@@chrisb7348But you could get a cheap laptop for the uni to go with it
I mean it can play basically every current AAA game out right now so it should be able to do anything you'd need it to do as a pc as well.
Got this for call of duty and I’m happy
Nice glad you’re happy with it
@@CJKnowsTECH btw nice review. Gonna follow
Close ur eyes..now imagine lil wayne rating electronics
Legion space is awful compared to rog ally, can't even record gameplay or see battery percentage in numbers in the battery icon....
Now that people started buying and seeing this device blows everything else out of the water, these youtubers are starting with the tipical "I WAS WRONG ABOUT THE LENOVO LEGION GO".
Relax! 😂 I been doing major research and knew everything before even starting this content journey…
Lmao ain’t nothing wrong with being wrong and admitting to it honestly. Also the legion go blowing everything else out the water is being dramatic, hence the reason why many people/youtubers weren’t enjoying it as much at first, Lenovo just wasn’t providing critical updates, but now they are and people can tell 💯
20:50 and that’s why I have a Pixel 8 Pro. I couldn’t tell if those were iPhones 13, 14, or 15 Pros. They all look the same 😮🤔 is that racist? 🤭
Me getting this beast to play binding of Isaac 😂
Deadzone update just dropped
woah your camera is nice damn

right after getting dropship links ready you easily changes your mind fr 😂
Wish it came in white
I know Dbrand skins can change it. Might grab one to showcase 🤔

Just set deadzone with steam

I don't care about VRR on a handheld.
