I like the theory that Sam started the war by killing a White Walker in their “territory”. This theory states that a cease fire was struck thousands of years ago between the humans and the Others, and the wall was built to divide their lands. The walkers killing the rangers in the prologue being justified since the Night’s Watch was encroaching into their land. Then Sam comes along and kills a WW in their territory, unknowingly triggering the Others to march south. Don’t know how much this theory holds up but is possibly my number one favorite theory. Like Sam fired the “shot heard round the world”
that’s a good theory but the walkers were already active and marching south before that. The whole reason the Wildlings are even so desperate to form an entire army to get over the wall is because the white walkers for a while had already began to move again and was heading south. They had already killed many wildlings by the start of the first book and if the wildlings didn’t get over the wall in time they would be crushed against the wall and the army of the dead. The ranger Ned kills at the beginning had also already seen them coming, all this long before Sam even arrives at the wall
Wrong theory. Seems like you don't understand the objective of Night King: To wipe out living population.
Probably after the dragons died
That would be so epic if we get a glimpse of the white walkers in season 2!
Why?
It really wouldn't. If anything it would be stupid
Shoehorn something that doesn't matter into the story where we already know how they end?
That would be dumb af stfu
Nope that'll be stupid. Why would HOTD hype up a story which ends with a girl putting a knife in their Night King
I think it was the sorcerer who cut off Varys man parts who woke them up
😂😂😂😂😂
But knowing how GOT ended, I don't care anymore. Them White Walkers and the Night King are bt¢hhs. 😂
It's still so stupid how "the biggest threat" that was being shoved down our throats for years was literally dealt with in 1 episode and barely even spoken of afterwards
The night king would b*tch you
@@dzjpTrue. Most people still don't believe in White Walkers in the Westros.
I prefer to think that they awakened after the burning of Lord Rickard Stark ot after the death of all the Dragons
Why would burning Rickard cause that?
@@MrKingYujithere's must always be a stark in winterfell...That line meant something bcz it's believed the night King was a stark
Benjin Stark was at winterfell when Rickard Stark was burned@@bullymaguire7843
Oh, shit. I mean.....add that to the fact it's literally called "Winterfell."
Winter/fell= where the walkers were defeated, and driven back to the Lands of Always Winter, which is when the wall began construction
@@MrKingYujistarks have magic blood that allows them to warg and all the like. But what if they “signed” or made a pact with the WW to keep them out and now burning a stark is like saying “we no longer fear the wrath of the gods” or something like that
I believe it was probably the birth of John and danny but I think what kicked them into high gear was the red comet that flew overhead it seemed to kick the magic in the world in the high gear and wake it up from being dormant, not just the white walkers, but all magic because I know the sacrifices of the three lives in Drogos funeral pier was a big part of the dragons hatching, but the comment was also a big part of that and it also boosted Melisandre magic and other red priests magic
The night king got slayed by Arya. His story is over. Even in the prequel lol
I doubt HotD claims GoT s6-s8 as canon
I'd like to believe these are all hints to future plans to remake seasons 7 and 8.
Another piece of evidence to support this is in the first episode of Season 2 of HOTD, where Cregan Stark stated that Jaehaerys' and his daughter's dragons refused to cross The Wall, whereas season 7 had Dany's dragons easily swooping over The Wall.
Maybe it's not happening, and I'm just coping, but you have to admit some things are adding up.
King Stannis I Baratheon is Azor Ahai btw
Stannis the Mannis, The Prince That Was Promised, Wielder of Lightbringer, Resurrector of Dragons
It doesnt matter, we all know how it ends, they cant fix that season 8
Season 8 is a fanfic.
The books are the real canon
George already said the two final books will have nothing to do with the final season story wise
Couldn’t agree more . Season 8 utterly ruined that plot line . D and D wanted out to do 3 StarWars movies and their quick fix for getting out backfired terribly .
mark my words .... we WILL see them on HotD
@@disnut5557 And if we're lucky the last two books will most likely be 2-parters or even 3-parters depending on how long they are. So we may yet see 4-6 new books (I chose to remain foolishly optimistic :P)
I'd say at the end of the war, after the last dragon dies in the war, the nightking will awaken or get off his thrown
All this to get killed by a 12 year stark girl 😂 where did the prophecy of Ice and Fire go or the purpose of Three eyed Raven 😂 yeah. Maybe budget cuts
But, but. They were subverting expectations.
May see them in a vision or something
The “long night” was ended in ONE episode then NEVER spoken of again. I think I speak for the majority audience when I say KEEP YOUR WHITE WALKERS!!!
This is the dance of dragons so show us the characters involved in that, for fuck sakes they didn’t include daeron because they didn’t have time but they have time to invent plot lines for people who aren’t a deciding factor until the latter half of the dance and also white walkers (prominent leakers have confirmed this) , but they aren’t bringing daeron to screen till season 3 and he’ll die come season 4.
Also also they are allegedly merging the rhaena/nettles story line and like………..😐
I’m as excited for season 2 as much as anyone else but the show is slowly following the trends of GOT season 5 especially with HOTD S1 ep9 coronation scene, 7 HELLS THAT SCENE WAS HORRIBLE!!!!
Completely agree
Agreed.
Annnnnd yet not one dang person’s said a thing about the red *volcryn* that showed up in the sky 👀 ??? Like, I’m PRETTY HECKIN SURE that was significant!!
GoT season finale kills the whole stock value of the white walkers 😂 If they at least gave us the Jon Snow vs Night King showdown, the finale would not have been so bad. But it's still bad no matter, there's no saving it 😂
I think when dragons dies.
Keep your white walkers!!!
After watching episode 8 of season 2, you answer the question easily... The white walkers appear in House of the Dragon
Could be that they were just waiting, not awakened. Could have been building their army for thousands of years. Immortal patience and all.
White Walkers only emerge again in the prologue of "A Game of Thrones" tho, no? Or have they always been out there?
I'm convinced Game of Thrones ending ruined so many spinoffs/stories. I would never be able to look at the White Walkers in the same way after how they killed the Night King
In HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Season 2 Trailer (2024) Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Matt Smith vermithor face and almost whole body appears
I hope not
Short answer: Hell No
ugh the knight king being killed by a barely teenager with less then a few yrs training is soo disappointing. when watching i kept expecting him to resurrect or something
Ooo I say Valeria and the majority of dragons dying.. I mean it took but 3 to defeat them!
They returned because of the new three eyed raven
Ummmmm why would we?
Burning of rickard stark? I never heard that theory
YES lets have the white walkers in HotD to get wrecked and completely wipe history so that GoT later seasons never happened and Danny just invades Kings Landing and nukes it with all three of her dragons with dumb a#$ Jon Snow stuck at the wall and then Danny roasts the last of the Lannisters and boom we get a happy ending and somehow Danny's knight simp guy gets her pregnant and more Targaryans are born, more dragons and then they roast the entire north too so no more annoying af Starks and we get Highgarden and Dorne as the surviving factions with the Darthrais taking parts of Westeros but realize theyre better off making castles, the end.
Completely unrelated topic....
With all the magic goin on here and bullshiterry, I feel like burning a stark, doesn’t have good consequences on the human side of things and magic.
No ....boring
