Hey Peter I'm not sure if you'll see this or not but I just won my Club Championship for the second year in a row thanks to your mental video you posted a week ago. Every shot I hit I asked a question instead of telling myself what it should be. I finished at -1 through the two days and that's my best score to date! I had shot a 92 in the State championship a few weeks before so it just shows the power of positive thinking and keeping your head on! Thanks again!
I've been working on my early hip extension for quite some time now, and I realized just about a fortnight ago that I need to forget working on anything else until I get this down. This is currently my key point. I think this video will help to explain many golfers that you really need to pull you right hip back from where it started and not push the left hip forward. There is a massive difference in those two things. Also to then keep the right hip back and then pull the left hip back as well, creating the room to rotate through.
After watching this video it all makes sense to me now why i at 5 foot 8 inches tall with shoes can hit it over 300 carry distance. Ive always hit it far for mu dize with every club but my driver is stupid long and it is because i just naturally do what you taught in your video Pete thanks bro Cheers!
Thanks for that review. I hope that you’ve helped me work through why I’m snap hooking my drives. I’ll use your recommendations. Keep up the great work Pete!
Loving these videos Pete, great information. I got fitted for a shaft ( played 5 rounds ) all I know is my club head speed is 105mph spin rate 2500, I had a regular sim driver max with standard shaft but been fitted with a stiff shaft and it’s stopped my slice. My carry is 260, the tips I got was ball slightly inside my front foot lean my weight into back foot and hit up and through. My background is in sports science so all the biomechanics is right up my street and Ross my instructor also done his applied sports science too so we can relate!
Very good instructions Mr. Finch! It makes me want to go around the corner and smack a few at Bayhill....haven't figured out how to sneak onto one of the holes yet though! Thx for sharing with us, it's always interesting!
Thanks for those tips. I can actually say the one where on the follow through when you open the front hip, that will help you get up, I wasn't doing that, I was more almost pushing to hard with the legs. So I will have to slow down a little and get my hips through, so thanks Pete.
Ground Force was a good programme and dreaded humping goat movement kills any Swing, but what you said about Ground Force and it's all in the hips makes sense, Pete another great video.
I only started golfing a few years ago, but no matter what I tried I could only hit my driver about 150 yards. Recently I followed this advise and now I can consistently hit my driver 200+ yards.
Pete, great analysis and drill video. I’ve also heard that widening the stance and opening the front foot a bit can help too. Supposedly it lessons tension and stress on the left knee, too. Your thoughts?
Hi Peter, another great video. I was just curious about your comment regarding Training. I am guilty of early extension and have tried hard to fix it with limited success. Which training exercises would help? Is it improved core strength?
I watch both Peter’s videos and Rick‘s videos as well but have come to a conclusion. Rick is probably the better golfer, but when it comes to actual content on how to improve ur game as a golfer, Peter wins that one pretty easily in my eyes.
Quick question Pete. Would developing the ability to eliminate early extension also eliminate and over the top movement? I guess the swing thought I’m trying to use is to make the arms wait in the downswing.
A good video for good players but in reality 90% of golfers (mostly middle aged) just don’t have the flexibility or athletic ability or core strength to carry out an athletic wind up on the backswing . As a coach im more than happy just to see in my pupils a little better width on the backswing and a little more awareness of the foot, ankle, knee and hip work on the way down! enjoyed the video👍
Pete, you ask what driver should you be using? If a regular slicer of the driver was to use a Draw driver, would the counter act the slice? Asking for a friend 🙄
I really need more work on clubface position at impact. I am screwing up alot of tee shots costing me alot of chances at birdie putts and pars. I am missing it both sides of the fairway blocking it high to the right and low hooks. :( I am really shooting myself in the foot off the tee box. Few times I hit it square and it goes 260-270. I need to learn how to square the club face.
Hi Pete, Congrats on the new channel and direction. I would really love to see a lesson on grip, grips and counterweighting. I use kangaroo leather grips from Gripmaster and since I started with them I've been able to give my gloves away. They outlast everything on the market, gain grip when wet and come in a variety of sizes, colors and applications. Why aren't they more prevalent? Price point? You save money on gloves re-grip frequency. I know of no one else using them. Great product. Check them out.
I you look solely at club head speed simple physics tell us that this is a function of 3 things: how fast you are rotating your shoulders, how long the pendulum is from shoulders to club head and finally when and how fast you release the wrist set (that being the crack in the whip). Peter explains the first of those issues really well. The second is simply a function of having a straight lead arm. It is the third issue that I find difficult. When is the best time to release the wrist set for the final piece of acceleration: too late and I do not square the club face, too early and I am losing power. I have at least hit my first 300+ yard drive on Friday - yes it was downhill (slightly), with the wind behind me and rock hard fairways but that is not the point!
Pete, I have a question I have not ever been answered. I can smack a driver 109-110 mph if I jump out of my shoes, hit repeated shots, well warmed up, focus on creating just speed by technique etc. That's my ultimate max club head speed. What would then be a good range of gaming club head speed for driver? Same irons. I can whacksmack a 7 iron like 88-89 mph. What should be a gaming speed range?
As a big long armed 6'2" guy I dont have a problem getting power...i just have a problem getting square! I definitely haven't been engaging my hips because I figured it'd be yet another variable for me to screw up. Guess now I have something to work on!
Hi peter. Me and my team of golfers are going to complete the 72 hole challenge late next month to raise month for Macmillan. My son has been battling a brain tumour since December and I was just wondering if you would be up for spreading the word? Thank you
Note to self, no more doing coffees whilst watching Peter Finch videos. The driver tips were awesome thankyou, the spraying coffee out of my nose at the goat reference was not so good.
Do you still have any of the swing thoughts carrying over from the quest for 350? God, that was a while ago! Times flies when you play golf so goes the saying 😊
Many people will know that I have had a very adventurous life and lead a rather interesting lifestyle and I promise you I have never Humped a Goat lol such a good video Peter.
can you do a video on how to hit pure irons Peter? I am the worst iron player ever but drive it 265-290. Can't even get an 8 iron to go 150 yards with clean contact
Can you talk about why/how some "hover" and others set the club on the ground. You hover and someone like Bryson hover. When I have tried that, I can't get a consistent return b/c I seem to start at different points. Why don't you just set the club on the ground?
Imagine your butt is touching a wall when you get into posture before swinging. Maintain that feeling of your butt against a wall throughout the swing. Works wonders for many ailments in golf, especially your ailment.
You can't 'PUSH' into the ground because unless you somehow believe your back is PUSHING against the atmosphere PUSHING into the ground is impossible. You can quickly drop your mass by bending your legs, and then use this dropping / accelerating mass to push against, which can create a vertical force in excess of your mass, which you can then use to accelerate the club head away from this vertical acceleration. Another source of power is the stretching of the upper body lead side muscles by letting your lead side heel (left for right handed golfers) come off the ground (like Nicklaus) and then quickly stamping this foot down into the ground which stretches the torso's muscles which turns into an accelerating force that acts on the club. Basically look at Nicklaus' swing from his 20s and do everything he does.
Guys remember, don’t hump the goat 🐐🙅🏻♂️
I had to back up to make sure I heard you right. I did. That being said... it's an apt term for it 🤣
It's that sort of quality visualisation that we are all here for.....
"like a dog humping a beachball" is the quote my coach uses.
Lets goooo!!! I won my golf clubs Monthly Championship and I'm only 15!!! I Shot a 71...
Well, I'll try not to!
Worth watching for the snugness of those trousers alone, but also loaded with great advice. Thanks, Pete!
A famous golf coach once said, "It's all in the hips!" Happy :)
It’s quotable

Thats the best explaination of smashing a driver on You tube yet. For once I totally understood what a golf coach was talking about.
I'm not a very coordinated person so combining all those movements are tough, but I continue to work at it. Great video Pete!
I love all of your helping videos because I just stared golf
Hi Pete, back to what you do best. Giving me hope. I wish you the best of luck with your new channel
Thanks, Pete! I tagged you in an insta video asking for tips on my driver swing a day ago and then this vid come out. Perfect timing!

I’ve just been fitted with the sim. Unreal club. Keep up the good work
Hit the like button.
Broke my tablet.
These tips really work
Always love these coaching vids Pete. Keep em coming!
Thanks!!!!! Peter...well done on the Driver theory... learn something today....
Another fantastic video! Sim max Driver has been ordered, can’t wait to get some lessons and get hitting!
After watching this video it all makes sense to me now why i at 5 foot 8 inches tall with shoes can hit it over 300 carry distance. This is the stuff subbed for.
Super video. Absolutely loved all the information and I am going to try to apply as much as I can to my golf swing.
Great video Pete. Congratulations on the 300k subscribers
I learned 5 things watching this video. Now it's time to go practice them. Thanks, Pete. You're an awesome coach!
Awesome breakdown Pete. Super helpful around all the different dynamics when using the big stock.
Thanks for that review. I hope that you’ve helped me work through why I’m snap hooking my drives. I’ll use your recommendations. Keep up the great work Pete!

Best RUclips coach

Pedro has superpower, nice video finchie
Love the Rick shiels podcast intro music 🎶
Thanks for another great lesson
Pete you've done it again 💪great video mate💯💯💯
My new swing thought is turn the right hip back. My swing finally got longer and the ball went straighter. Great tips , thanks Pete.
Thanks Pete, gives me plenty to work on 👍
fasty mc hand face speed! Pete....best line ive heard all year!
Nice collection of clubs
Great video! Keep them coming! You're hilarious!
Have I been waiting for this one...
I only started golfing a few years ago, but no matter what I tried I could only hit my driver about 150 yards. Recently I followed this advise and now I can consistently hit my driver 200+ yards.
Petuhhh finchhh is an absolute legend folks
Yeah, great vid pal! 👍

can't wait to try these tips, anyone know what model is Petes shoes? Adidas i guess and non-golf, but they look sweet!

5:21 " that dreaded hunping-the-goat movement" 😂😂

Strangely down here in the welsh valleys we see less of the "humping of the goat". Maybe it's the steepness of the courses??
Helpfull vid Pete. Thanks
Always end up giggling watching your extremely informative stuff mate, you should think of taking up comedy haha.
keep it up pete, great stuff!

New logo Pete, great improvement👍
I noticed the same. Looks like Pete is stepping up his game! 💪🔥
When are you going for your driver fitting mate?

Come for the golf lesson, stay for Mr. Tight Pants🤣. Great video Pete!
Hump the goat 😂😂 brilliant video as always 👍🏻👍🏻
As a big long armed 6'2" guy I dont have a problem getting power...i just have a problem getting square! I definitely haven't been engaging my hips because I figured it'd be yet another variable for me to screw up. Guess now I have something to work on!
What’s better than a Saturday morning golf lesson? Starting that lesson with a killer flute solo
Almost got away with slipping that one in Peter: ' ... that dreaded humping of the goat movement!'
Hi peter. Me and my team of golfers are going to complete the 72 hole challenge late next month to raise month for Macmillan. My son has been battling a brain tumour since December and I was just wondering if you would be up for spreading the word? Thank you
Can send you link to the donations page if you are up for it
Hi Pete, how do you manage to get downwards energy into your swing without lowering your head?
I'm gaming a titleist 915 D3 with a 75g xflex shaft. Should I get a newer driver like a TS3
Thanks Pete will be swinging in the garden now I’ve watched this ..no goat humping though 🤨🏌🏼♀️
Are these moves used for irons as well? If so,does the amount of movement reduce as we go up the clubs eg more for a 4 iron less for a PW?
0:27 Thanks Pete, you broke my mouse!
I just broke my phone hitting the like button. Never listening to my online coach ever again!!
Longer Drives is the Future of Golf ⛳
I smashed my phone smashing the like button as far as a 400yrd drive
Many people will know that I have had a very adventurous life and lead a rather interesting lifestyle and I promise you I have never Humped a Goat lol such a good video Peter.
wow that's amazing now i hit the ball straight and long EVERY SINGLE time!!! Good video but ain't nothing every time in golf!
I just cracked my phone smashing the like button harder than I would hit a 400 yard drive
can you do a video on how to hit pure irons Peter? I am the worst iron player ever but drive it 265-290. Can't even get an 8 iron to go 150 yards with clean contact
That's it , 350 yards coming right up 🤘🏻👍🙃

Momentum. Moving a still club takes a bigger force than a club that isn't at rest on the ground
It's more technical than that. But that's the general idea
Do you have any drills for learning to clear the hips at impact, with a nice right spine bend? I always stand up during impact!
Imagine your butt is touching a wall when you get into posture before swinging. Maintain that feeling of your butt against a wall throughout the swing. Works wonders for many ailments in golf, especially your ailment.
do you use the TP5x pix or the TP5 pix ball
Did what you said and hit the like button hard as i could... Can I get a new phone screen?
What can you work on to stop early extension?
Golf is hard 😆⛳️🏌️♂️
I think this really depends on what type of swing you have, for me, I have to close the club face more on my downswing
Pete's got his long drive tights on today, fellas!
It’s what you came for
I just get to the range and hit 200 hundred balls at a time. Your sore and knackered but its well worth it.
Great advice - thank you. FYI - those tight grey pants are a bit much :-o.
Great video, Pete... but Mr. Berkshire would like to speak with you, re: masterclass.
He does all of these things...really well
Can't believe Rick stole the tune at the start of this video for his podcast 😂 think you are owed a few quid Mr Finch 🤑
It's amazing how easily he threw in that "Humping the Goat" comment.. hahahaha!😂😂😂
5:20
@@NativeBeanpole hahahahah, thanks! I never tagged it.
“Hit that like button harder than what you would a 400yrd drive 😂”
That make me lol
I always find when I try to maintain posture and not early extend with my longer clubs especially, I sky the ball or fat it ☹️
Broke my mouse trying to subscribe.
Omg the intro music is the same as the intro music for Worst Games Ever on Vidiots😂
You can't 'PUSH' into the ground because unless you somehow believe your back is PUSHING against the atmosphere PUSHING into the ground is impossible. hola!!! la verdad muy bueno video me gusto necesito el nuevo éxito me despido les dejo besis agradecido
Callaway all the way
Is that Rick shiel’s podcast jingle?
Bryson is about to watch this video
