Genuine question, does “horse power” really matter as much as the car manufacturers wants us to believe? Personally, I feel like the car world has gone mad, in seemingly pointless horse power war.. What is the actual point of a 400ps EX30 (Volvo’s attempt at building an electric version of the Nissan Micra), it is not an E39 M5 and they are not equal. The EX30 is probably faster than the E39 M5 (0-100 kph), but the M5 is probably more fun and I’m of the opinion that my S60 with messily 250ps is more enjoyable to drive than a EX30. Maybe I’m getting old, but I have almost stopped caring about 0 to 100 times and just looking at horse power figures means nothing, as weight and torque also play a huge part in the driving dynamics, something car makers seems to have completely forgotten along with how to make something that provides a proper driving experience.
