Eddie dedicated "316" to celebrate the arrival of his son Wolfgang into this world and 29 years later Wolf dedicated "Distance" to Eddie as he left this world. If that isn't the purest form of the love and bond between a father and son, I don't know what is.
Wolfgang is such a breath of fresh air - so talented - so humble - and so very gifted. No desire to be his dad knowing full well that could never happen and just wanting to be appreciated for he himself. I'm so happy he still has his fantastic mother. ♥
Love Van Halen, not surprised he has talent, amazed by how out of this world his talent is, he himself has my full attention, have not been able to stop listening to Don't Back Down 🎸🤟😎🔥🤩
Makes it real man. That kid is in SO much pain and has a LONG road to recovery. Doesn’t help he has to grieve in the public eye while he’s trying to release and promote his own music. Fucking assholes have been terrible to him on social media. I think the kid has all the talent in the world and I will be the first to buy his new release when it comes out.
As a long time VH & EVH fan(from their start), I was gutted when Eddie passed away as was the music world in general. Wolf has bestowed a gift upon us with this song. Beautifully written with vocals that none of us I dare say expected. The melody is spot on. But it's the videos of he and his Pop through the years that are tugging at our hearts. From his birth until sadly, as the last image shows with his Dad in an arena eating what appears to be an ice cream, not looking well. To the ending with Edward leaving a VM for his son to call him just to hear his voice. Incredible. As great as a guitar player that Edward Van Halen was, and make no mistake about it, he was THE BEST! He apparently was an even better Father. Rest in Peace EVH
It was all written and recorded before Eddie's death and he listened to it and loved and spoke of it before his death. Eddie said Wolfie was better than he ever was and that he was a little jealous, jokingly, of course.
I've watched this 5 times, and that many times I also cried watching the video on this song. I am very influenced by the way EVH takes care of WVH, so I can feel as a father, towards my child. Great father and melodic son, Godbless U Wolfie, may God take care of you.
Apple did Not fall far from the tree, simply amazing cry every time i see it..He rocks you’re to blame..As a parent the joy ed must of had hearing his son come into his own. Waiting on the tour, ill be there!

I cried to. I love seeing Eddie Van Halen as a gentle and loving father to his son. Eddie loved Wolfgang to pieces. If you notice in the last video frame of this video Eddie is very sick eating a candy bar or something? You can tell this was near the end. So sad but yet so beautiful. Love this song and video!
Great review. I’ve listened to this song no less than 20 times and each time I feel the raw emotion of it. Still brings tears to my eyes. It’s an amazing accomplishment.
This song has been nominated for a Grammy along with Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Waiting on a War, Weezer, Kings of Leon. I think Wolf's only competition in this category for best rock song are the Foo Fighters, Waiting on a War. It's simple but epic. Both songs come from a real place that people can or have felt 8n their lives. It could go either way, Wolf or Dave Grohl? What an honor to be nominated right out of the gate! Go Wolfie 💕💕
It has reached number 1 on the itunes charts. Eddies love for the guitar is not as great as the love that he had for his son. That was very emotional, especially at the end. I hope has a very successful solo career
The second song " You're To Blame" is pretty good it was released yesterday! It has a metal & Rock mix however, I was waiting for a lead guitar moment it tend to drag as if Wolfgang deliberately wanted to stay clear from the lead guitar moment it finally came near end and I loved it! As we all love a good moment of guitar, drums a bridge period in all music take a listen to it " you're To Blame " before I head off I want to say that Howard Stern is a class act truly for getting Wolgang on his show and pushing both songs out to this world of raven fans for music period let alone that Wolfgang couldn't have that moment with his dad upon releasing his material Godfather Howard Stern took off his Stern persona and gave the floor to little Wolfie and I tell ya that's how it should be people looking out for others kids ! Hats off to Howard and Robin & crew .. okay I'm off ! Blessings Keep on doing your great views love em...
Every time I hear or watch this video it gets me teared up every time. I can relate to this as I lost my brother to cancer. I’m really liking the album too. Great video guys
I hope he does well! I love the music and he sounds fantastic. Even if he goes another way, this song is really perfect and he doesn’t even need to prove anything to anyone.
Wolfgang has been out of the public's view so much we really don't know who he is . His dad wanted him to do his music and it sure seems he has music to make. Even EVH had to come to grips with his ability as it faded due to age and illness. The best among us are still human. Even when Eddie said I'm just a punk kid that plays guitar we all knew who he was. There are very few that can be on his level in any specialty. I hope Wolfgang is accepted for who he is and what he offers. Not many can rise to the level his dad did.
Eddie wanted to have Wolf do his own thing. When Wolf was doing songs with his father in practice not Van Halen songs but other artist. Eddie was Eddie going off on his style. I play guitar and my son is a musician. We have totally to different styles and I support my son with his style, as Eddie did for Wolf. Wolf if you read this I can’t wait for the album to come out. You have my support.
Yeah. Every time. Tear Jerker.. Great song Beautiful video. I've heard other songs ..oh man. Its going to be a great album. You're to blame. Is a song he played on the Stern show. Its really rocking. The guitar solo is 🔥.
Wow. This is just so touching. God bless you Wolf and your whole family, those with us and temporarily removed. 2020 mostly is regrettable. Here’s a rare exception.
It's tough to lose your Dad to cancer. Four years ago I was my Dad's caregiver when he was battling bone cancer; I will forever have a special space in my heart for him.😊 In the meantime, Wolfgang Van Halen is very talented in his own right; for such a young man he sounds like he has been in the music industry for years. I look forward to following his musical career welll into the future., May Eddie rest in peace 🎸🎹🎵🎶😎
DEFINITELY a 90s vibe! Musically love it. And what an amazing tribute to his Dad. Every person I know who has watched the video has cried. Juuuuuuuusssstttt a heart ripper.

There's gonna be a lot of different sounding stuff on that record according to Wolfe. I can't watch the video anymore as I have customers to deal with but, I can listen to it without tearing up . Wolfe's career is off to a great start.

A commendable song. It is a very lonely feeling losing a father but what hits you possibly even more is when you lose both parents and the moment you realize you are parentless.
I didnt really know my dad and didnt cry when he died. I cry every time I think about Eddie. He was my best friend when I was growing up. His music made my life better.
He did premiere a sneak peek of a second song on stern... again all him playing and singing, he doesn't play like Ed but he has Ed's sensibilities about witing.... "you're to blame" there's a tiny bit of talking from the interview as this will be released with the album next year ruclips.net/video/HmjugNKEpeY/видео.html

His musical ability is impressive and promises great results, as long as the internet doesn't harass him for the thing he has no control over.

Great take and so insightful, thanks a alot for a very fair, emotional and nice review guys! But man, rarely have I seen a more powerful f u to his haters and critics than with this track from WVH, EVH knew what he was doing in spite what some people thought... This track is killer and on repeat for me now

Check out the two albums from Tremonti, Cauterize and Dust where he plays bass. Rocking, he’ll have his own style and go far. He also played bass for Sevendust on a tour to replace their bass player for a while.

Every new artist has that one song that places them on the map, this is that song for him and it's awesome. I heard he didn't intend to turn this out as a lead track and think once he has a catalog out there (I heard he has a lot recorded) that this will his most important, but not most played on tour. It touched a lot of feelings that many can relate to. This is his "Your body is a wonderland" & look where it took Mayer. Wolf has another release called "You're to Blame" on You Tube; check it out, its great and I'm a fan!
I cried the 1st time I heard this song and I cried when I hear it now. I've loss my biological dad and the man who raised me and when I listen to it and think of them
I know that I will follow Wolfgang Van Halen. The sad news is that Eddie Van Halen's official cause of death was announced yesterday and it was not cancer, it was a stroke.
The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation is the charity. Can be found on Google, and I donated in Wolfie and Ed's honor the day the song dropped. Best to Wolfie and his family, friends, and fans.
Pretty hard to live in the shadow of one of if not thee greatest guitarist of all time and amazing composer and try to make a living playing guitar/music. Having said that I've heard a clip of Wolfie playing eruption no problem. This is the first I've heard he plays all the instruments and sings. I'm impressed the kid is immensely talented and has a great career ahead of him. I'd like to hear more off the album.
As my mom is currently waging her own battle with cancer this song hits home really hard. A beautiful tribute to his dad. I look forward to hearing more from him.
Thanks for uploading! If you have a minute, we uploaded an Eddie Van Halen tribute video. As fellow music lovers, we'd love if you'd take a listen. It's on our channel. Don't be too tough on us :)
I stopped listening to VH since their new album with locomotive on cover... It was not my coup of tea, but prior, it was my favorite band because of Eddies creativity and energy... Then i heard Eddie praising Tool, which was my new favorite band (mainly because of drumms) and i regained every bit of respect for the "man" i had. Just for hardcore fans, have you heard Eddies live solo from Japan i think, from 1976 ? It is crappy quality, but in my opinion one of the craziest pre eruption explosions ever played and he was 21 !!! wait, i found the video :D ruclips.net/video/xr7nXIzwqJg/видео.html
This is the song I never ever wanted to hear. I love it because of what it IS, but I also dislike it because of what it IS. It hurts every single time.
The songs WOEFUL - expected more from a "member" of van halen - and the one note solo?! Sounds like a bee trapped in a jar!! Would have thought if Eddie Van Halen's son was recording a tribute to his father who spent the last 20 years making a point of mentioning how "outta sight" and "killer" his sons guitar playing was and how happy he was to show him how to play whenever interviewed, who gave him access to the greatest studio, equipment, guitars etc.... in THE WORLD that he might have thought "huh, you know, I think my dad was a bit of a guitar guy, maybe the guitar solo in this TRIBUTE song I'm writing would be the right time to bust out the 'ol geetar chops.... " "Maybe, seeing as I know my audience can really only be made up of fans that know my dad from "Van Halen" and fans the know me from "Van Halen", fans that will be genuinely grieving at the loss of an idol, a legend in his own time and since it's unavoidable that if I release a tribute SINGLE for my father at this moment in time and advertise it as such, CONSTANTLY, in my first ever national "interview tour", I can only be, like it or not, exploiting this fact, that i should include some of what he taught me in the (TRIBUTE TO EDDIE VAN HALEN!!!!) songs guitar solo?" Right, that's me😜 cheers for "listening", I want to watch some ACTUAL Eddie tributes with, oh, I don't know, some half decent guitar playing so I'm gonna go watch/listen to ANY OTHER VAN HALEN TRIBUTE SONG/VIDEO ON THE F**KING PLANET!!!!
Why you so mad bro? I suggest you watch the video again and probably follow WVH on Twitter as he explicitly explains he's not trying to be his dad. You may even want to do a little more homework (perhaps follow Andrew Bennett on social media) and realize that if it weren't for WVH we never would have had a Roth reunion in the later years as well as a potential "kitchen sink" reunion in 2019 if it weren't for EVH's declining health. You clearly don't respect and don't understand. Life's too short to be unkind. Be glad that we have the EVH legacy and his son that will definitely honor what he did for all of us. Be better.
The fact you had to dry your eyes means you really heard the song, so that's a testimony to you two. Great video

I would love to hear his Mothers thoughts iam sure she is proud of him
Hundo percent
Wolfgang VH played all bass and part background vocals on VH's last studio album, 'A Different Kind Of Truth' (2012). David Lee Roth was on vocals.
Well, wolfgang had better vocal though...
During crazy times, its nice to see people keeping it real. I respect the genuine, heartfelt reaction. Keep it up guys!
Thanks Arthur. We hope you subscribe and comment in the future.

@@arthurnunez970 You da man
I cried the 1st time I heard this song and I cried when I hear it now. I've loss my biological dad and the man who raised me and when I listen to it and think of them
Excellent
Man, the voice mail from Eddie at the end....
Thanks Matt. You look like a super handsome man. Thanks for following us.
If Eddie heard this song from any other artist, he would like it, it’s not Van Halen, it’s very honest and it’s more emotional than any VH song
We agree with this.
Damn guys I've been using that comparison between Dale Earnhardt and his son ever since the song came out really cool y'all picked up on that ✌♥️🤘
Thanks. It's the most apt comparison we could think of.
He did a great damn job too damn it Your dad was so damn proud of you You were his masterpiece
I know that I will follow Wolfgang Van Halen. The sad news is that Eddie Van Halen's official cause of death was announced yesterday and it was not cancer, it was a stroke.
thanks for the reply. Please follow us and comment again soon.
LIVE Show. Thursday, February 4th, 7:00 pm Central Time. Log in and get Far Out.
Definitely sounds like Daughtry
Right?
Great song - great review
Thank you so much Dan. Glad you subscribed and hope you comment more in the future.
Great reaction. I read somewhere that all the proceeds from this song are going to Eddie’s charity. ❤️ New sub
The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation is the charity. Can be found on Google, and I donated in Wolfie and Ed's honor the day the song dropped. Best to Wolfie and his family, friends, and fans.
Great song but- what doesnt quite flow in my head is when he says Im so happy - Found aplace.
He's saying that he's happy that Eddie (or anyone) in pain has a found a better place.
Baba boooooeeeyyy
So the reaction you guys showed sort of says it all doesn't it. Clearly the apple doesn't fall from the tree for Wolfgang. Thanks for posting.
Our pleasure.
Auctually his dad was a better guiatarist but all around I the I’ll give it to Wolfgang he is just showing his stuff and it’s a hit.
Thanks for the comments Jerry. We hope you subscribe and comment on future vids.
@@BlayneSukut Thanks, we agree. Please follow us and comment in the future.
As my mom is currently waging her own battle with cancer this song hits home really hard. A beautiful tribute to his dad. I look forward to hearing more from him.
All the best with your mom and your family.
Sounds like Shinedown just a tad! But i love it
We talk Shinedown in one of our Spotify Spotlight segments. GIve it a view.

It is crappy quality, but in my opinion one of the craziest pre eruption explosions ever played and he was 21 !!!
wait, i found the video :D

we will check it out. thanks for the heads up.
This is the song I never ever wanted to hear.
I love it because of what it IS, but I also dislike it because of what it IS.
It hurts every single time.
well put. We agree
My dad had brain cancer and survived thank god but now he has cirrhosis of the liver like his dad who died because of it.
Thanks for sharing your story. All the best to your family.
Can you please react to Monster by Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber live at the amas
Taking notes on AMA now and are doing special reaction show to the AMAs very soon. Subscribe and stay tuned.

" "Maybe, seeing as I know my audience can really only be made up of fans that know my dad from "Van Halen" and fans the know me from "Van Halen", fans that will be genuinely grieving at the loss of an idol, a legend in his own time and since it's unavoidable that if I release a tribute SINGLE for my father at this moment in time and advertise it as such, CONSTANTLY, in my first ever national "interview tour", I can only be, like it or not, exploiting this fact, that i should include some of what he taught me in the (TRIBUTE TO EDDIE VAN HALEN!!!!) songs guitar solo?"
Right, that's me😜 cheers for "listening", I want to watch some ACTUAL Eddie tributes with, oh, I don't know, some half decent guitar playing so I'm gonna go watch/listen to ANY OTHER VAN HALEN TRIBUTE SONG/VIDEO ON THE F**KING PLANET!!!!
damn bro. appreciate the comments, but we suggest you deal with those anger issues.
Wow man...heart of stone.
Be better.
Jealous much, stay unsigned
