Thank you. I started as a mechanic, and started to fabricate and customize because I could not afford to pay someone to do it for me. But the mechanic has always been there.
Excellent video Billy, you make it look so easy. Would that cam work with a stock motor, if so do you think it would be available for a Shovelhead. Again love the videos. Thanks

@BillyLaneChoppers that's the one thing that's always stuck to me about you Billy. Is you're calm, cool, and collected. You never shout, get mad, you're just calm and get the work done man. I remember watching you on the biker build off shows back in the day and now watching you on your youtube channel, You're still calm and just get the work done. I just really appreciate your calmness when working man.
Since I was a teenager, I loved to watch Billy's creations. He has been one of my inspirations to maintain a life of turning wrenches. Circa 2008 I was privileged to remove and work on a Typhoon carb that Jesse James put on the 50th anniversary Monster Garage chop with a 127 CI motor. He had his mentors do the build while he made the gas tank out of copper. The bike was my wallpaper for 66 weeks at MMI. I walked into New Orleans Harley Davidson and there the bike sat. Still blows my mind when I think about it. I had to hide my eyes behind my Ray Bans the day that it sold. Mr. Lane Keep on rocking and please keep sharing!
Thanks for being here, and for the good comments. What was gong on early 2000's drew a lot of people into the H-D service industry. The Typhoon, on a 127, definitely requires a ThunderJet for high rpm tuning. It's really just a glorified SU. Indian Larry told me, "SU is the first two letters of the word, "sucks'", in his Brooklyn accent with a laugh.
@@BillyLaneChoppers I was able to meet and establish communications with Paul regarding a custom seat but unfortunately, I never met Indian Larry. Thank you for the response, I will continue to be here and hopefully get a chance to meet or see you race one day.

The Boyd's swingarms are pure art, designed by Little John Buttera for Boyd. Jesse James ran the CNC milling machine that made them. The S&S air horns are really hard to find. I had one from years ago, and sand cast several for myself. I made the one I took off.
back in the late 60s early 70s the big carb conversion was an SU from a Jag. $5 at the local junkyard lol. Only problem was the top of the pot interfering with the tank
Hi Billy, I really enjoy your videos! Great way to learn more about how to wrench. Having a ‘93 Fatboy myself this is super helpful. Do have recommendations on upgrading the front brake on these bikes? Thx! Marc (from the Netherlands)
The factory disc brake rotors are good. I installed Performance Machine calipers front & rear- makes a huge difference. The Harley-Davidson calipers are kind of binary- off, or on. You can feel the P-M calipers engage, & moderate braking with so much more control
No compression release. I do plan to upgrade the ignition in the future. I have to steal the time to work on my own things, and barely pulled off this theft of time to do the work & make this video.

I’m surprised to see you put the stock breather gear back in . Not questioning you , I changed mine out years ago when crammed mine. What are you doing with the stock heads ? Great video , it’s like going back in time.
I usually leave the plastic in there, unless it’s damaged.
👍👍🍺 really good build series,
Glad you like it, thanks
Keep it comin Billy..probably gonna copy ur homework for my 99 sinister blue Fatty ! 😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice. The HP upgrades make it alot more fun to ride
@@BillyLaneChoppers Im sure it does brother ! Used to ridin my 96" stroker rigid all my younger years but back problems made me buy the fatty n yeah, its slow in stock form with only 8k miles on it ! BUT its pretty ! lol
Great video been looking for a good evo engine build video
I did another a couple of years ago, watch “World’s Baddest BadBoy”, similar job- but done using Screamin Eagle Heads.
@@BillyLaneChoppers thank you sir thanks for reaching out been a fan of yours since I saw your hub less wheel debut I was probably about 16 years old keep up the great work
Awesome video, great job! Thanks for sharing
I appreciate you watching
That's gotta be one of the coolest Fat Boys out there.
Thank you. I’m changing the wheels soon, then it will really look good
Posted this one as I have done with all the others to Harley Fat Boy Owners UK on facebook. Nice one from England.
Thank you. It’s my first FatBoy, always liked them
That bike is Freakin badass!!👍
Wait until I change the wheels. Thank you
@@BillyLaneChoppers I need that Fat Boy exhaust you made for my 97 evo! Could you make me one??
I love these videos
I enjoy making them, thank you
Sounds good. GREAT VIDEO MAN
Thank You
Holy shit Billy! That thing is a monster! Put a 280mm rear tire on that beast!
NOOOO! I have several full customs. What I love about this is that it is a modified stock Harley-Davidson that is affordable to almost anyone.
Dig that vintage Snap On torque-O-Meter!
I’ve had it for 30 years
Damn brother. That thing is hittin hard ! Hell yeah. Hey Mr Billy. Where do I find a air intake cover like your s&s cover that you took off. That Boyd's swing arm is og
@@tschr979 I’ve run a bunch of SU carbs, & love them. The Typhoon is nothing more than a billet SU, it’s designed exactly like the SU
love what you did with the pipes have you done any cryogenic treating of internals ? its amazing how it effects the crank and rods .
I like your videos
I love making them, thank you
🏍️ SALUTE BILLY 🏍️ W / R 🏍️
What kind of breather bolt/catch cans are those? Those look dope af!!!🔥🔥🔥
These are vintage Doherty Machine breathers, scored on eBay.
Thank you Billy!! Your Fatboy is badass!! Stay safe and have a nice day!!🤘😎🤘
Thanks, great ride home tonight
@@BillyLaneChoppers Hell yeah!!

So Cool bro....Hoorah🦁☠
Hoorah!
Thank you for the video, Pard
Glad you enjoyed it
Lovely mr lane
Thank you
Sounds crispy like a buell
It’s definitely strong, those heads, pistons, & cam increase hp by 50%
21:49 Indian Larry brass floorboards 😍
One of a kind, like the man himself
Hi Billy, I really enjoy your videos! Great way to learn more about how to wrench. Having a ‘93 Fatboy myself this is super helpful. Do have recommendations on upgrading the front brake on these bikes? Thx! Marc (from the Netherlands)
The factory disc brake rotors are good. I installed Performance Machine calipers front & rear- makes a huge difference. The Harley-Davidson calipers are kind of binary- off, or on. You can feel the P-M calipers engage, & moderate braking with so much more control
Thanks man!!
You'd benefit a lot from an aftermarket ignition. Do you have compression releases in those heads?
No compression release. I do plan to upgrade the ignition in the future. I have to steal the time to work on my own things, and barely pulled off this theft of time to do the work & make this video.
