    I’m to old to ride anymore, I leave it to my son, and to be honest, I never cared for the look of the fat boy, but I can honestly say that fat boy is something I’d be proud to ride. It reminds me of a muscle car restomod. Stock looking , but improved. 👍

      @@andysteinert5364 My son has a pretty highly modified Lowrider, and I still have my last muscle car, a 1972 W-30 Olds 442, that I ordered brand new, just finished a 5 year frame off restoration on it. I’m 75, so this year it will be going up for sale, to old for that as well.

    Good stuff Billy.
    I like how you do "Rider builds" like this one, instead of just "full custom" and "show bike" builds.
    Those front forks came apart with the same components as my 2000 FXDWG. I made a bushing install tool out of PVC tube.
    I'd like to just hang out in the shop and watch you work someday. I'll go pickup lunch and do the afternoon beer run. 😆

      PVC is actually a great idea. I’m a springer guy, & seldom mess with hydraulic forks. I haven’t used that tool in 20 years, probably. I’m going to move my shop later this year, I’ll probably have some open shop days once I re-settle

    I grew up in a custom shop, I'm proud to have watched Billy back then. Went to MMI and still wrench. It is my lifestyle. It is so damn cool to see him doing his thing. I'm still after those bad ass whiskey bars, for a future build. Keep kicking ass, I'm still watching.

    Man, very cool! Well presented. Showing what can be done to make an old bike look great again. Great use of leather to keep the bars from getting scratched. I'd change out those turn indicators. Those older Harley lights look like they belong on a trailer.

    Beautiful work as always, Billy. Excited for part 2.
    Also, when I bought my ‘94 Fatboy I didn’t realize the carb did not have a support and was just hanging onto the manifold. I found this out when my prosthetic leg kicked the air cleaner and carb right off the bike several hours from home. Thank God for swing arm tool bags haha.

    I love the way the running lights illuminate the motorcycle at night - it is the exact reason I keep them on my '01 fxst - every time I see that I think to myself "that willy G, he knew we would like this...". This is masterfull work as you display in every work video of your - I enjoy and I learn a LOT!

    You inspired me to build my first chopper from parts in 2004. I stopped by your shop in 2009 on my 79 Lowrider. You were not there for obvious reasons. Hope to meet you someday.

    Billy Ive said it before about your videos. This 40:50 minute video is a MASTERCLASS in your process as to how to customize an older motorcycle. Most if us weekend warriors would have struggled through each one if these processes (i know i have) but you have made this look easy through your knowledge and experience.     I love watching you build bikes. I built allot of them too when I was younger. I miss it. I do find it hard to believe though that with all your bikes, parts, scrap metal, ect. that you couldn't come up with a carb support bracket.😊 Keep up the great work.

    I really enjoy watching you work on these old EVO bikes, I just worked on my 1986 FXST that I have owned for over 30 years now. I would get a FXR to go with it but I am like you the softails are just bad ass looking especially with that seat it just flows with the frame, I have the exact seat without the basket weave just smooth finish.

      The swing arm is pure art, designed by John Buttera for Boyd. Buttera, Chip Foose, & Jesse James all worked for Boyd at that time

    I love ur style man, always have. While I'm now pretty crippled up with arthritis and can't wrench much I still like watching your stuff. It's sooooo cool seeing you share some "tricks" I figured out the hard way along my journey thru life as well as doing some machine work my Dad taught me back in the 70's and 80's. #rockon passing on the lost art of common sense and adaptation to the next generation! 👍👍

    Looks and sounds good. The original turn lights and wheels make it look like a production model. The only thing that stops the flow is that u turn on the exhaust. Thanks for showing us, Billy .
