I didn't expect OOC to be on this video, let alone be super knowledgeable and engaged with ER/Fromsoft, great surprise to have all 3 of the lads on this. This is my favorite modern game, holy grail OSW episode for me up there with WM 17. Had to be a mammoth edit to have visual references for 4 hours of discussion. Appreciate the effort that went into this!
When V1 was explaining The Claw technique, I had a flashback of playing Metal Gear Solid. Someone showed me how to use a pen to smash the circle button during the Ocelot torture sequences. Great stuff!
On the Age of the Stars Ending, there is another bit of trivia. After finishing the whole quest and being given the Dark Moon Greatsword, there is another small interaction with Ranni. You need to travel to Ranni's Rise and when you sit down at the Grace, you can talk with Ranni again. If you do this, when the ending cinematic happens there is a change in the dialogue, with Ranni referring to you as "my dear consort" instead of "my fair consort", which implies a deeper connection between the two of you.
Can't believe I watched this in one sitting. Fantastic video. Really well done. So much you talked about made me appreciate this game way more. Also loved seeing my boys RKG getting a shootout. They're lovely people and nobody comes close to their playthroughs.
Absolutely loved watching all of this. I look forward to your Deep Dives more than most of the wrestling episodes. Didn't watch in one sitting now but watched the majority of it though in a single sitting.
That "wow, it looks like I can go anywhere"-moment OOC described was what I had when I first played Skyrim 11 years ago after finishing the tutorial in Helgen. Stood on a cliff overlooking the river valley and just marveled at how huge this looked and that I would be able to go to any of those places I could see far far away. It was my first massive open world game (if you don't count GTA or other games where the "open world" is just a big city) and I will never forget that feeling of seemingly total freedom.
I agree but what I preferred in Skyrim is whichever direction you go in you'll find fully voice acted quests providing context, motive and stories. The world and pace of Skyrim felt more grounded and realistic. There's a lot of repetition in Elden Ring I find. It's not as bad as Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom but in Skyrim it feels like you're encountering new things more often with less dilly dally. And this will sound nitpicky, Elden Ring looks great but they went crazy with the art and design of the world. It's too flashy and.. I dunno dreamlike to settle into. It feels over designed. It feels less like an actual world and more like a piece of a world torn and thrown into some dreamlike void. I want to like it, I loved all the other Souls games, Bloodborne is easily one of my favourite games of all time and to be honest I wasn't even all that into Skyrim but I found it more engaging than Elden Ring. I want to like Elden Ring, the gameplay and combat seem fine but not digging the open world.
Love watching you guys for wrestling but this is the video I am most appreciative of. Sinked 30 hours in to this game this week and have 3 friends playing it too now. Feel OOC shaking his head whenever I cast summons😆 unbeleivable video gents.💚

@@mikeprentice68you're missing out. They're super rewarding. Bloodborne is a perfect game imo. 10/10 fun, creepy, beautiful. Once you beat your first boss you'll get it.
@Roflcrabs I did try. I bought the 3 dark souls games when covid hit, thinking "I know they're difficult so this should tide me over for a while". Could only beat my first boss by looking up how to do it, then got stuck at the very next enemy, because there was no way to know it was weak to fire without looking it up. Just didn't enjoy it
I think Groot is the most popular tree in pop culture. Great video boys! I loved this game and was so happy to see this surprise. Im 180 hours in first playthrough still because I want to play the DLC before NG+

Great video lads. Never interested in this genre of game but 40 minutes in, you’ve convinced me to give it a go. Best deep dive since your Last of Us Part 2 one - that was a masterpiece.
I watched in 3 sittings, have never played Elden Ring, have no interest in Elden Ring and despite your glowing review I shall not be playing Elden Ring. But This just goes to show if you have 3 good lads having the craic, they can talk about anything and I'll be there to listen!

If you spec intelligence for the blasphemous blade and upgrade it to 10 you can add the albunarics at the bird farm. The red ones don't go down in one hit (yet but I'm scaling Faith) but you will be able to throw Takers Flame at them again before they can recover from the stagger of the first one. My advice would be drop a gold pickled fowl foot. Do 5 runs at the bird, then take out all the Albunarics as fast as you can, rush back to grace and then hit the albunarics again . The gpf will have wear out around halfway through them, drop another one before you finish. then hit the bird rest at grace restart the cy I jumped from 97 to 223 very quickly
2 things when they are talking about online. You can get to Mohg's area via a teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield. Secondly, you can only be invaded if you have someone helping you or I think you can use an item in inventory to draw in invaders. If you're online and just playing the game normally then you wont get invaded.
You will get invaded by some computer controlled characters while playing offline/without invasions active. There is no way to avoid these invasions. The Tarnished Eater with the huge cleaver they showed is one example.
30:04 Although not as popular as MGS, I think Thief (1998) is the real standard bearer for the stealth genre. It influenced Assassin’s Creed, Hitman, Splinter Cell, Tenchu and others. Even the guy that wrote and designed Half-Life has said he wished he had a chance to work on Thief. Fair play to you guys for all playing and enjoying Elden Ring at the same time, a rare feat. Although not sure what exactly is enjoyable about the game myself!
Great video lads. I was like you Jay elden ring was my first souls game I played it co-op with my mates and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Masterpiece of a game
This was a great video man, i learned a ton off stuff. That tip about holding sprint when jumping is super usefull for platforming, and have never heard of it before. Also loved how much stuff you guys covered overall.
It should also be noted that for a long time I joked that I had to survive open heart surgery in order to play Elden ring. And I did, and it was worth it.
Love your videos, Mr.Hunter, Mr.1, and Mr.OOC, whether they be about wrestling or video games. You gentlemen always do great work and bring plenty of joy. It’s always hard for me to get truly into SoulsRingBourne games, not because I think they’re bad, far from it, but I guess there’s only so much punishing difficulty I can take. Like, I fought and killed Godrick the Grafted after dying like 20 times, and even though I felt so elated, I couldn’t really play it anymore. I haven’t gone back to it in two years. And I feel guilty about it but I’m not sure I want to try and pick it up again. Side note, I would love if you gentlemen did a Deep Dive into the Sly Cooper games, since they recently re-released the first game as one of the June PS Plus Monthly Classics, and fans have been rightfully reminded about how great the series is.
Been playing FromSoft stuff since 3 came out, always really fun to see people (like Jay!) find out how needlessly obtuse the games can be. Cheers for the 4 hour long, incredibly well-edited compendium.
Hey, I have always wanted to play this game, but I was too afraid I'd buy it, give up on the first boss, and feel like I wasted my money. Your video gave me the motivation to try. I am proud to say I am writing this post seconds after beating Malenia. Every time that I felt like a boss was insurmountable, I would would think of Jay's encouragement to never give up. When you die, you return. When they die, they are done. It was an absolutely amazing experience. Thank you for giving me the courage to brave the lands between. A winner is you!
Excellent video lads, it’s easily top 5, if not my favourite game of all time. I really struggle with difficulty in games, and usually bounce off experiences like this, But to be honest, I used every cheese, cheat, hint, summon, and farm to blunt force my way through the game, and loved every minute of it, Advice for anyone, is play it in a way thats fun and rewarding for you, this game can be played at any level of skill, Also, uchigatana with blood hound step attached as ash of war, was really helpful early game, for someone who couldn’t time rolls well initially, blood hound step acts as a dash slide, often passing through hits, or AOE,
This was a stellar video, and you know something: it's lovely to hear all of you so bloody enthusiastic about this game. It feels sometimes like some of you have found the latest TNA arc a bit of a slog, but I hope this was a breath of fresh air. Or EIRE.
For everyone new to fromsoft with elden ring and getting this DLC day one, you are in for a treat. Playing these games in the opening days is like nothing else. It is the time when you definitely want those community messages on, before any guides and videos, all you have to go off of are vague messages, half of which are trolls.
It took me 15 hours to realise I could hold circle to run. I can't explain how simultaneously relieved/annoyed I was at that exact moment. I had beaten 2 shardbearers all while mincing at the sort of speed you run at when someone is holding a door for you 20 yards away.
Hey I'd love that too! It's my favourite franchise. But OOC doesn't play Zelda and I thiiink v1 gave up on ToTK. It wouldn't really work if it's just me by myself ya know?
@@OSW Go solo if you need to Jay. But ideally get V1 to finish TOTK so he can join you. I'm surprised you haven't covered it. I think even OOC would appreciate BOTW after playing ER. It's basically its 'light side' brother. This was great Jay 👏👏👏
That space octopus you mention at 2:11:00 is Godwyn the Golden's body. Since the rune of death killed his soul. His body did not die a true death so it became an abomination that deathroot started to sprout from.
@@OSW Deeproot Depths' giant mermaid-clam monster is the original body, they weird way he died killed is soul but not his body (the opposite of Ranni) and his body is infecting the whole land and where it gets particularly strong hid clam-face shows up (fun fact the deathroot infested crabs in Leyndell's moat are directly above his corpse in deeproot and they have his face growing on their back)
This was a fantastic recap of Elden Ring. I played it when it came out and put 200+ hours into one playthrough, did everything there was to do (except for all the endings) and haven't touched it since. To be honest, Elden Ring kinda burned me out on FromSoft games in general and I was on the fence about playing the DLC. After watching this though I'm hyped to jump back into it again. Cheers lads! :)
cool fact about the Gideon boss fight. the spells he uses are dependent on certain optional bosses you've killed. if you kill Radahn, he will have access to gravity magic. Mohg allows him to use blood magic, Melania gives him the scarlet blossom spell. i think there's a couple more but i thought that was one of the coolest facts about this game. He tells you about all these bosses and gives you information so that you can find and beat them for him and he can study their abilities in peace. theoretically, if you only beat the necessary bosses, he gets much easier cus then he doesn't have such a wide array of spells.
2:13:08 My pet theory about the two roundtable holds is the one in the capital is a real, long abandoned location, and the one you do all your business in is a construct or replica, possibly contained within the Erdtree itself (since the place starts to burn down once you set the Erdtree alight). In the same way Bloodborne has two hunter's workshops, the original being a real place you can visit in the Cathedral Ward and the Hunter's Dream being a sort of pocket dimension created to give hunters refuge from the dangers of the real world.
Lads, if i may, take a peek at Monster Hunter : World. While you may lose the Soulsborne world building, you pretty much get a game full of increasingly difficult boss fights. Genuinely a great game, that can be completed both solo and/or with friends joining in, with the iceborne DLC being a great extension wit hone of the most diffcult fight i've ever completed. Great vid btw. Or if you want a big hit of japanese zelda, Okami is by far my favourite game of all time, a perfect 10.
The space octopus at the bottom of Stormveil is some of the soulless remains of Godrick the Golden. You learn that via Rogier's quest line and see him getting injured by the death root thorns in that room.
Awesome video. In regards to Soulslike recommendations (3:39:30 ), I've played a bit of Lies of P and enjoyed it. It seems to be the best Non-From Software Soulslike game in a lot of people's minds right now.

im about to attempt watching this in one sitting
How kind of Jay to make us watch it all in one sitting!
This was a great video man, i learned a ton off stuff.
That tip about holding sprint when jumping is super usefull for platforming, and have never heard of it before.
Also loved how much stuff you guys covered overall.
Ah thanks brahs! You know how long I’ve been waiting for this one. ❤
Listened to the entirety on the first half of my shift at work. Easy peasy.
Nice to see the boys TOGETHAAA again
I just got to the Daytona bit, and I am laughing. Laughing hard enough that I have to close my office door at work. Thanks for that.
It should also be noted that for a long time I joked that I had to survive open heart surgery in order to play Elden ring. And I did, and it was worth it.
Hulk-A-Melenia wasn’t an image I was expecting today…

I'm absolutely watching this in one sitting
I'm watching this in one sitting and that warning won't stop me.
These lads have never sounded so nerdy and excited..... and they do a wrestling podcast 10 ON 10 lads
I could watch OSW for alot longer than 4 hours in one sitting
As a video games are arts knob, OOC best game rankings are absolutely stunning *chef kiss*
Excellent video lads, it’s easily top 5, if not my favourite game of all time. I really struggle with difficulty in games, and usually bounce off experiences like this,
But to be honest, I used every cheese, cheat, hint, summon, and farm to blunt force my way through the game, and loved every minute of it,
Advice for anyone, is play it in a way thats fun and rewarding for you, this game can be played at any level of skill,
Also, uchigatana with blood hound step attached as ash of war, was really helpful early game, for someone who couldn’t time rolls well initially, blood hound step acts as a dash slide, often passing through hits, or AOE,
Great video makes me reminisce on my own playthrough of this game.
Great vid! Love hearing you guys talk about stuff you're into other than wrastlin
"don't watch all 4 hours at once" proceeds to watch all 4 hours in one go. you can't tell me what to do Mr. Jay Hunter.
This was a stellar video, and you know something: it's lovely to hear all of you so bloody enthusiastic about this game. It feels sometimes like some of you have found the latest TNA arc a bit of a slog, but I hope this was a breath of fresh air. Or EIRE.
Heck yea a great way to spend the day. Also love the intro.
Also appreciate Jay shneaking "Shadowrun" into V1s list of influential games.
For everyone new to fromsoft with elden ring and getting this DLC day one, you are in for a treat. Playing these games in the opening days is like nothing else. It is the time when you definitely want those community messages on, before any guides and videos, all you have to go off of are vague messages, half of which are trolls.
"Try finger but hole" - A FromSoft release day classic.
It took me 15 hours to realise I could hold circle to run. I can't explain how simultaneously relieved/annoyed I was at that exact moment. I had beaten 2 shardbearers all while mincing at the sort of speed you run at when someone is holding a door for you 20 yards away.
That sounds revolting, but I have a lot of respect for you for doing it
Epic!
Would love to see a similar long form review of both BOTW & TOTK.
My body is ready Jay.
OHHH ME MAWW! Ive been waiting for this since it was announced. Cheers to the lads!
That space octopus you mention at 2:11:00 is Godwyn the Golden's body. Since the rune of death killed his soul. His body did not die a true death so it became an abomination that deathroot started to sprout from.
That is fascinating! Is that him in the deeproot depths as well? It's not even close to human I wonder what he did to become Jabba the Shellfish
@@OSW Deeproot Depths' giant mermaid-clam monster is the original body, they weird way he died killed is soul but not his body (the opposite of Ranni) and his body is infecting the whole land and where it gets particularly strong hid clam-face shows up (fun fact the deathroot infested crabs in Leyndell's moat are directly above his corpse in deeproot and they have his face growing on their back)
i have a weird relationship with these types of games. I will not waste my time playing them, but I will watch people play the game for hours.
Seems more of a waste of time not to experience it yourself
@@stehmer3naw, I would be doing something else while watching.

Watching OSW reveiw Elden Ring whilst playing Lies of P was a joy. *_One Sitting Achievement, Aquired!_*
Lies of P needs to be OOCs next Soulslike. Was stunned it wasn't in his list.
Lies of P was fantastic
This was a fantastic recap of Elden Ring. I played it when it came out and put 200+ hours into one playthrough, did everything there was to do (except for all the endings) and haven't touched it since. To be honest, Elden Ring kinda burned me out on FromSoft games in general and I was on the fence about playing the DLC. After watching this though I'm hyped to jump back into it again. Cheers lads! :)
Me playing Elden Ring: "I'm gonna play this offline to avoid invasion."
Elden Ring: "That doesn't work for me, brother."

Yes lads! I knew this reference had to be coming 😁
4 hours of OSW heaven YEASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
cool fact about the Gideon boss fight. the spells he uses are dependent on certain optional bosses you've killed. if you kill Radahn, he will have access to gravity magic.

My pet theory about the two roundtable holds is the one in the capital is a real, long abandoned location, and the one you do all your business in is a construct or replica, possibly contained within the Erdtree itself (since the place starts to burn down once you set the Erdtree alight).
Legendary Mr. OOC performance here.
Awesome video. In regards to Soulslike recommendations (3:39:30 ), I've played a bit of Lies of P and enjoyed it. It seems to be the best Non-From Software Soulslike game in a lot of people's minds right now.
A deep dive that exceeded already high expectations. No group does it better than OSW.
Aw that's made my day. A winner is you!
On one of Jay's suggested improvements, the patch that everyone gets when the DLC drops will include a ln inventory section for newly picked up items
You can use Radahns swords and the ashes of war to farm the Albanurics at the Mohgwyn Palace farm spot, plus the crow, a decent spot mid to late game
