Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.

I save my empty line spools to put used line back on. Pick out a spade bit that fits snug in the center hole and wind it off with the drill just like you did with the dowel.

Love ALL your videos; even though i’m a hardcore saltwater fisherman! I got a quick hack for you to try out...to wash off the fish smell I use 2 types of soap just as a dry rub with no water when I get to the car...but at home in the bathroom get a bit of soap, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash...i use whatever is in squirt bottles - works like a charm! Thank you for making these videos!

  • @Foghorn77

    A little late but ...
    Love your vids.
For a line remover, you can take a plastic soda bottle cap or Gatorade cap and drill a hole in the middle of it. Screw in a 1/4'- 3/8" bolt with the bolt threads pointing out of the top of the cap. tighten on a nut and stick the bolt shaft in your drill. Screw on an old plastic bottle, tie your line to the bottle, and strip the line off of your reel. The larger diameter bottle makes it go fast. When done throw away or recycle the bottle with the line on it and use another bottle next time. Free if you have the bolt, and reusable forever.

My grandfather use to drill a small hole threw old corks like that. Then he put a wooden Skewer threw the middle of it. He could tie his fishing line to the Skewer. I have some of them in his old Tackle box that my grandmother give me after he past away. Back in his day, they used corks for whisky bottles. That's where got his. My grand father was big on fishing and even made his own fly hooks.

VERY informative video, that was great! I like #8. We go to the Dollar Store and buy packs of small glow sticks, about 3 or 4 inches long, then use small zip ties to attach them to the rod tips. They're cheap, easy, and each one lasts for hours. Usually, one a night per rod will do ya.

Comment/question> About the glow in the dark rod tips. Back in the day, you could buy small battery operated flashlight with a mini black light. STREN line used to glow in the black light so if you had your light on at night, you could see the line. I have not night fished for years so I don't know if this is still true or not. Plus the orange poles you had show also glow pretty good under a black light. Used to use little , what we called jingle bells and attach to the pole.

Great as always .I started making bobbers using the cheap ? white ping pong balls that Academy sports sells (50 at $12) and coffee stirrers from Walmart (100 for $2-$3) just use a small drill bit the size if the stirrer drill straight through both sides , try to keep it straight, and slip the stirrer through the pong ball and super glue jell on both sides. You can make 2 bobbers with one stirrer( cut the stirrer in half). Thanks and keep up the good work.

Go ahead brother, that's what we're all here for ,to share and learn. I've also experimented using soda bottle tops of different colors and super gluing them together (open ends) and let dry then drill a hole and put the stirrers through it and finish by super gluing the straws in. Yes I loose a lot of bobbers fishing from the bank, And again thanks for all you do and I'm honored that you'd ask to use my idea, Thanks.

Instead of a wooden dowel we always used pencils. Everybody and they momma has a pencil somewhere.
Cheap glow paint is fingernail polish. It also holds up pretty good if you want to add some touches to baits. After halloween you can pick it up on clearance for like 25 cents a bottle. I suggest dropping 2 BBs down in the bottle, the pigment settles and takes forever to shake up. The BBs act like the marble in a spray can.

You can wash your hands with a piece of stainless steel to get the smell off too. You can actually just rub your soapy hands on the sink if you have a stainless steel sink.
Also, on the peroxide tip, I assume it would also work in your minnow bucket? Or would that be too concentrated?

some of the tips (usually clear) are fiber glass. they help with the strength and tip flexibility. a tiny glow stick from the party section at walmart would also be helpful to illuminate the poles

i been using peroxide with my tooth paste to get whiter teeth or i am hoping at least, i just brush my teeth and instead of spitting and rinsing i take a teaspoon of peroxide and swich it in my mouth along with the toothpaste into a slury and keep it my my mouth like a mouth wash for 15 min before spitting out and i do that before sleeping so it stays in the mouth doing its job longer since i wont be eating or drinking nothing

Well, should have kept watching before my last comment about hydrogen perioxide. However, got you beat on the fishy smell. PLUS this works on skunked dogs! You need hydrogen perioxide, baking soda, soap and water and a mixing bowl. This all must be done quickly or it doesn't work too well so everything needs to be on hand. Get the water unning, add baking soda and a few drops of soap in the mixing bowl. Add the perioxide (I use at least 1/2 bottle) and then wash in the mixture and then rinse off.
