Good countdown idea, another suggestion could be the opposite, cards underhyped but ended up performing very well. Example being how when Gladiator Beasts came out, most people didn't give it time of day since DAD ws still around, but then Gladiators performed super will at tournaments, to the point that next year everyone was expecting them to be the next unstoppable thing, but then Tele-DAD was as thing.
Solemn Judgement and aqua dolphin, for sure
Did not Gladiators assault the Set in which Gladiator beasts came out appear before Phantom darkness the Set which hat dad?
Any scycron when halq came out
Excluding cards that saw play due to new game mechanics, especially Link Summoning.
Already have a video in the Chanel "cards no one expectec to be good"
Everyone knows that with Theseus it had been Konami themselves hyping it up.
Most players recognized the Instant Fusion Tuner potential, but we already had E-Tele.
When they touted instead the trio of Dark Ruler No More, Dimension Shifter, and Nibiru, they actually meant business.
If it was a level 4 , I think it would be so much better
And now we have Ready Fusion, which makes it very good.
@N. Colt It's probably in most formats a side deck staple similar to Droll or floodgates due to turning effects off. The limitations of the card are finely tuned. Dark Ruler should be able to help you go further than you otherwise could if used well.
@@runningoncylinders3829 except master duel, which I assume most people here are familiar with and not best of 3 tournament rulesets
@@black7594 True, bo1 will leave out a lot of side staples like that. MD also has its own pool of available cards and limits, making it the MD ladder format.
9:23 - according to MBT, Spell Chronicle hype was a ruse to see if the competitive community could artificially manipulate the card market by staging a mass buy out of a very obvious bad card.
The classic tale of a fool and his money being easily parted...
The reasoning makes sense.
I'm surprised that no one got their ass beat over something like that.
So it basically was just an NFT pump and dump scam. All it needs is a poorly drawn ape
Honestly if it discarded for effect and returned the banish cards if destroyed, it might see some use. Missing the fact that it discards as a cost is something that some tournament players kept messing up back then (none of the top players did and nowadays even the lower tournament players don't, but back then you always had some guys confused every event). The fact that your opponent can MST it means you lose those cards does mean it's pretty useless since you can't just play 6 spells to get 3 of the 5 cards back and I don't see why people realize that makes this really bad and I don't see why people didn't realize that.
The Dark World structure is an interesting case since while it didn't generate many tops at the time, it generally considered to strongest deck of Fire-Water format(January 2014), and only major change to Dark World was that there were good rank 8s to go into, and this was format with Firefist, Mermail, and XYZ Infernity in it.
Dark worlds about to be tier 0 soon
Infinite hand loops incoming
👀
In Duel Links Noble Knights became a tier 1 deck because they used a skill that almost guaranteed giving you a monster, a spell and trap, the monster and the spell themselves being like a +80% chance to open with both. So you had a really high chance to open with merlin or medraut + an equip spell or the quick play that equips in order to guarantee your gemini effects, and sometimes an additional trap or book of moon as a disruption. Only that kind of set up made them a top tier deck, but when the skill got nerfed, the deck dropped instantly to rogue and it's currently a fun deck, probably one of the best funs, but barely does it to rogue
Balance Noble Knights you will not be missed. Definitely did not enjoy losing every time I lost the coin toss.
I like this list mmore than others because it focuses more on groups of cards per slot as opposed to a single card. It is interesting to hear the history behind some of these cards and sets.
The Duellogs will never run out of these lol
Overhype or vids in general?
This. I love his vids
One of his Vids exists literally just to prove that, I'm sure we'll have Content for a long while still xD
Still anticipating "10 Cards I feel like talking about"
@@PaRaNiki_ He already did that with his "The Unknown Side of Yu-Gi-Oh" vid
The best part of the Dark World structure deck was the “BEWARE THE SEMICOLON” article that Konami made in conjunction with the deck.
and after some years noble knights was made meta in DL due to the skill Balance allowing you to open full combo 90% of the times and making a turn 1 that nothing at the time could beat and fallen into obscurity once balance got nerfed
Also worth noting that the structure deck was released at a great time for it. Cuz had Nobles come out any later they would have have been blown out of the water
one of the best memories i have from DL is making NK work before the structure deck came out, right when the first batch of Xyz were released in the game.
It was a OTK deck (potenially FTK if going second) exploiting Zubaba General and Joey's power that granted 200 attack to all warriors you own.
As long as you drew Medraut or Lundsallyn, if i remember correctly, you could go into Zubaba, equip a 1800+ monster from the hand and go face through an open board cleared by Drystan and Arfeudutyr for game.
It worked pretty consistently and had a good amount of tools to survive and keep up with value if it didn't otk.
Started to drop off when Blue Eyes became the meta staple but i still love that little deck
4:51 - Mystic Mine defender line
In fairness, Mystic Mine makes it work because your average Mine deck is fifteen cards to search or trigger Mine, fifteen cards to protect Mine, three copies of Mine, and a win condition. That's just not something that Lair could do.
A big reason Dark World never did as well as it should have it because a lot of people decided to cut some of the most powerfull cards like cards destruction and dark world dealings because they were just an instant loss to blindly use in the mirror match resulting in much weaker versions of the deck and the deck not being able to compete
This. I used to play yugioh when i was a kid for fun so i had a bunch of old cards. Then later on I decided to go back and play during the dragon ruler meta. I only played local level so there were only a couple of duelist that actually used dragon ruler. There were a couple of dark world players including my friend. I asked him why no one used dark deal and he said he's never heard of that card. I told him that was weird since it sounded like a very broken card. I had anout 6 copies of it from my pile of old cards and gave some of them to him. He proceeded to win a couple of local tournaments because of it and people were seeing it for the first time even the dragon ruler players couldnt believe the effect of the card. It was really funny every time he pulled it out.
Correct me if i'm wrong but card destruction wouldn't trigger them because the discard is a cost.
@@nathanchristman6660 They actually would trigger. It's very awkward for the wording, but card destruction has it so it just happens. It's not a requirement for you to discard to activate it. You just won't get anything from it if you don't have anything else in your hand.
@@ab14967 Apparently it's because it happens all at once.
@@dokuganryu1565 I don't know why it would cause a problem in normal circumstances, since the discard effects of Dark World are if, not when.

I wonder if a, "Top 10 'Anti-Meta' Cards In A Given Format" could work as an idea.

Top 10 Synchro Tuners
Top 10 Best/Worst Cards That Can Miss Timing
Top 10 Worst Spellcasters
Top 10 Best/Worst Cards That Require A Specific Named Monster To Activate
Top 10 Worst Monster Effects That Trigger When A Monster's Destroyed By Battle
Top 10 Cards With Unlisted Rulings
The pendulum extra deck monsters sounds like a cool idea for a vid. Especially since I never play pends or see anyone use like those cards. They always look cool
The first 2 would be great
L V
As a Lair of Darkness enjoyer, I can't really refute your points. It has a lot of issues, but if you can get established it works really well. The problem being that the entire deck really falls apart when the field spell dies and it has no inherent protection whatsoever.
I use lair of darkness as a tech option in my ogdoadic deck. The deck itself is pretty slow and bricks sometimes, but I feel like adding lair adds a fair bit of consistency to it. As long as you can get Keurse in the grave, you can always have a play live by tributing your opponent's monster to bring itself back out. And if I don't draw it or it gets destroyed, it's fine since the deck still has control strategies without it, it's just a nice bonus when it's there and draws the opponent's focus away from disrupting my other plays. As powerful as the card is, I think a whole deck dedicated around just that is indeed too prone to disruption
Yeah, and even if you do get out beat cop that only protects against destruction
As a Lair of Darkness player I've actually not had many problems with it, especially when combined with kaijus, sphere mode, and viruses. Now To be fair, the field spell absolutely needs protection but usually duels don't last long enough for it to really matter in my personal experience. The deck can absolutely brick and I 100% believe that Lair needs protection but if you time your strategy you can win in a single turn before your opponent has the chance to get rid of it.
@@skepticskeleton1064 Yeah. I too run it with viruses (and Fang of Critias because it's cool and I really wanted to run Doom Virus Dragon) with some degree of success, but I'm also playing in Platinum/Diamond Master Duel instead of a "real" format.
Exactly my experience, I was pretty much building it assuming I couldn't use Lair
Great countdown!
For another one,, How about something like "Useful cards with a lower rarity than you'd expect", since OP or Staple cards such as Magical Scientist and Pankratops were released as commons.
Noble knights was actually my first deck in duel links back when i was playing. It carried me to platinum. It is a good deck if you have all the cards you need in your hand to start your combo. But when the Harpie Ladies became a tier 1 meta deck, I've had a hard time countering it with noble knights. So i had to change my deck. I settled down with burning abyss and it did me good too.
I remember when noble knights became good in duel links, it caused a resurgence in sacred Phoenix decks, as they hard countered it (they hadn’t received the ritual support to my knowledge at the time, and had lost its place in the meta for a few seasons)
i'm so happy to see that these videos are sponsored, I love this channel and deserves everything
Lair of Darkness is still a fun card to play around; I made a Lair of Mahad where the goal was to have Mahad's double ATK power always live because everything was Dark. Though I love using Lair of Darkness to summon Sphere Mode on my opponent then tribute it with Advance Draw to clear the field and get two cards.
I think a top 10 cards that basically ignore rulings could be interesting, those cases of cards where you look up the rules and konami just says it works like this because we want it to
Splendid vid, the next one should be top cards that are underrated by the community but perform very well in dealing with the meta 👍
So basically the polar opposite of this vid? Gee how original.
@@Aloyus_Knight There's actually roughly speaking 2 routes with this:
One's fairly well documented, and while useful, not particularly interesting... cards that aged well.
That's like Aqua Dolphin and a lot of early GY stuff before it became a resource.
The other is cards that were overlooked on prerelease but saw play in the same format soon after.
I can't disagree with you about Noble Knights, but I love them just the same. I played them a lot in Duel Links and they were the only time I spent real money to try and build an optimal Noble Knight deck. I had a ton of fun with them... until Harpies became Tier 1 Meta and every other player was summoning Cyber Slash Harpie Lady... I still play the Noble Knights on occasion.
Thought it was weird when I saw Senet Switch again in a new pack. Now I'm working on a Vaylantz deck so I can play a board game while my opponent plays Yugioh.
I LOVE Dark World! Still my main deck choice to this day. Would love a video/segment about them in depth one day.
Same here! I use my Dark World deck in tournaments.
brother
The newest honorable mention I would like to give is Kurikara Divincarnate looking on paper to be a one sided Nibiru/Kaiju with extra value generation or surprise OTK potential.
Theseus is the poster boy of "Overhyped Cards" SINCE KONAMI THEMSELVES SAID IT WOULD BE BROKEN
The sheer temerity of them to say that it would be the most impactful monster of 2017 when Ass Blassum & No Joy was literally printed one set later.
If you havent done this already, I think a video about top 10 cards with ruling nighmares would be fun.
I got the box set of the noble knights and the main reason for that is because I was a big fan of the King Arthur and Merlin story. The deck didn't hold very well but it was kind of interesting.
This video looking at some entire historical archetypes is awesome!
Ironic that this list includes the Dark World archetype given that the new support for it looks like it could potentially boost this deck to Tier 1 status
Glad you're getting that sponsor money! You work hard and I've gotten tons of hours of engagement from your videos!
Master Duel has made me believe that if Maxx "C" was legal in TCG, Crossout Designator would see a LOT of play. Without it however it's just kinda there though
That is straight up a massive reason for it. Crossout is an awkward one-for-one trade in most instances without Maxx "C" being legal in the TCG.
@@ab14967 crossout is a straight up minus 1. Its only played in ocg style formats because hitting maxxc is THAT important
Pretty much you lose 2 for a 1. Essentially a -1 and you lose that card itself. Pretty much a very clutch card but very akward against others.
For Despia, Crossouf is a “why not” because they don’t like Ash Blossom at all.
Called by the Grave is also semi limited in the OCG.
These anti hand trap cards only targets is Maxx C or Ash in the OCG
This brings back memory though to be fair it wasn't so much the "community" that overhyped Sea Monster of Theseus but rather Jerome McHale through that glorious Yu-Gi-Oh! Blogspot post. Poor Jerome must not have known that this card would be released in the same set as Zodiacs, That Grass Looks Greener, Fairy Tail - Snow and all of the good paleozoics.
DuelLogs in a couple of years: Top *10 cards that have the letter Y in their name*
This was a very fun idea for a list, if you want another one, how about top ten arcatypes with the most members
Good video as always is increíble the tops Made with Yugioh themes. Sugestion for new tops. Top cards never reprinted after thier original set (for examples: EH aire neos, Maiden of aqua, vicius claw)
To be fair, Sea Monster of Theseus is a really good Super Poly target against quite a few decks, like Anamancepators.
And spright, hit their diva normal summon
I recall the noble knights being really good in duel links.
Muskets are not overhyped. “Huffs copeuim “ We just need one more piece of support “huffs more copeuim”
They have some real potential. I got this deck to Diamond II in Master Duel. They can stand their ground against the meta with the right piloting.
@@MartinX2021 Not really, sometimes your bullets are separated from your musketeers and all you can do is pray your pots give you what you need.
@@MartinX2021 sir how much copeuim have you been huffing because you need to save the rest for earth machines
@@MartinX2021 in bo1 format any deck can be used to climb ladder since there is no side deck and you never know what you play againts, just look at numeron, its so good in bo1 but cant do shit in bo3
10:57 I remember discussions about Senet Switch in a Yugioh Discord server I frequented. One group thought Senet Switch would allow you to move cards from the Extra Monster Zone, while the other said it would probably be limited to the Main Monster Zones. There was another split on whether Links would slow the game down. If so, Senet Switch could still be useful for positioning in your Main Monster Zone to free up Link arrows. I was half right. I was in the latter category for Senet Switch, but thought the game would slow down with Links. Then we got Firewall Dragon and Trickstars.
Loved the video.
The audio kinda goes to shyt at 15:00 if that's something you care about
Magical Musketeers are one of top 5 favorite archetypes just because there’s so much potential. But they really a very slow control like deck that it can be a real challenge to fight off the meta.
I'm terrified whenever Magical Muskets drop the Ties of the Brethren.
You need to play them similarly to a Sky Striker deck. Going second and lots of hand traps. Once you get Caspar and Doc on the field, this deck becomes a powerhouse.
Now do the opposite, cards that seemed innocuous and worthless when first shown, and ended up performing better than expected. And when I mean that, I mean cards that, upon release, get played a lot.
He’s already done a few videos like that lol
@@siftheadsdude I see. I'm not talking about Grinder Golem. But cards that were laughed at prerelease and very played upon being released.
10:46: And to think, Yubel tried to annihilate all of reality with that card as a staple of her combos.
I can’t 💀😭
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 And yet she got pretty close.
Playing with the Noble Knights deck in DuelLinks actually got me back into Yugioh during the Pandemic after almost a decade of not touching a single card. I still run Noble Knights on Master Duel, and while I lose 4/5 of the time with them the archetype is the right balance of versatile and confusing for me to have a great time
I recently picked up Vaylantz because it looked more fun to play out of the archetypes in the booster set with all the movement shenanigans. I've been learning some of the more basic combos but it's definitely one of the harder archetypes to learn IMO. Since Senet Switch is a soft once per turn, it's great if you have the Vaylantz monster, Hojo, on the field as he can return a face-up card in the Spell&Trap zone back to the hand and then you can use Senet Switch a second time that turn.
I feel like what change Naturia Pineapple needs to work would be for it's revival ability to change to "If you discard a Naturia monster from your hand or have a Naturia monster on your side of the field, summon a Naturia Pineapple from your graveyard. This effect can only be used once per turn."
Wait…Who overhyped the cards now? Because Theseus was definitely overhyped by Konami, but the title specifies the playerbase.
What about Witch’s Strike? That card sounds so busted and got so much hype only for everyone to realize how specific and easy to negate it was since nobody noticed it was a normal trap, not a counter trap.
Noble Knights were meta in Duel Links. Those Lair of Darkness decks were always annoying to play against at locals even when Sky Striker was at full power at the time. They would tribute my Striker links for cost and Raye wouldn't come back. Also they had that virus card that gets rid of spells from field and hand.
DL meta cannot really be compared with TCG meta tho.
5:00 I was one of the guys who played diabolos in striker, it was really good back in the day.
Would love to see a "Top 10 Mystical Refpanel Targets" list.
If you don't mind, I have a couple ideas.
Top 10 worst mill cards
Best Story cards part 2
Top 10 cards that show actual cards
Top 10 cards that aren't in Master Duel
Top 10 stall cards.
Top 10 generic pendulum cards.
Top 10 special conditions in the games.
More Rescue Rabbit, please.
This man really just made a list of rogue decks to try. Thank you, TheDuelLogs.

The “Noble” archetype’s main woe to me seems like the inherent weaknesses of Equip Spell Cards, so perhaps some general equip spell support tied to the them could help….
_Armory Of The Noble._
Continuous Spell Card
_When you summon a “Noble” monster, or destroy a card by battle or effect using a “Noble” monster, you can add 1 equip spell card to your hand from your deck or GY. Once per turn, you can treat any number of monsters equipped with equip spell cards as tuners until the beginning of your next turn. When you XYz summon a monster, you can attach any equip spell cards attached to its materials to it as materials. During the battle phase, you can target 1 equip spell card in your hand and one on the field, banish the card in your hand; the targeted equip spell on the field gains the banished cards name and effects while face up on the field until the end of your turn._
Sure but i think the deck need a good boss monster too
For example
Noble knight of the darkness
Fusion/effect/tuner( mabe some uses i dont know)
2 warrior monster
You can fusion summon this card by banishing 3 noble knight monsters from your hand or gy
When this card is fusion summoned add noble knight card to your hand
Once per turn during either players turn send a equip card to the gy(can be your opponent equip card) to destroy one card on the field
Once per turn you can banish 2 equip card to add all of you banished noble knight cards to your hand. This card cannot be activated during the turn its summoned. You can only activate each effect of this card once per turn.
When you summon a noble monster, or when you destroy a card, instead go for benkei otk, gotcha, might wanna limit what can be searched somehow
Also , Jesus in that lack of OPT effects, how many cards are you wanting me to add to hand? You can just keep going.
Actually yeah, that during the battle phase non OPT, let's just, y'know, banish a card, give attack boost or something, then swap to allow double attack, then boost attack again/search again, not to mention it doesn't need to target an equip equipped to a noble monster, especially with all the free equip cards I just searched, this is literally just an equip otk turbo card
Or y'know, also just get halq out
This was NOT thought out
@@terry4751
Of course. My logic was with the above card, being able to treat monsters equipped with Equip Spells as tuners AND allowing XYZ monsters to use said equip spell cards as additional materials would go hand in hand with the archetypes already existing extra deck monsters, while being general enough to see use with other kinds of decks.
It would be better as a field spell. Being a continuous card gets in the way and limits the amount of equip spells you can have on the field.
Maybe they can just rework equips? Like, they can't be targetted by effects on the turn they are equipped or something.
"Noble Knight equip spells are good against Shaddoll Construct" is one of the funniest bits of troll-logic ever put out by Konami
I love your videos, they calm my overall existence anxiety. Anyway i take a look at your other channels, and you should be a staple card in a deck Titans of Work.
A gladiator beasts video would be great. They were such a great deck in the era of dad and x sabres
As for number 1, if the equip spells behaved more like MtG's equipments or even auras, the Noble Knights would be butt-crushingly busted and maybe even be hyper-banned.
EDIT: Okay, maybe that was an overreaction. But Yu-Gi-Oh! Equip spells aren't balanced around how MtG does its equipment cards. When all that's needed is to reattach to another monster as it stays on the field, that might break some Equip spell cards in how different they go in Yu-Gi-Oh!
not really
@@hazio7574 I see. Still, an equip archetype is unbalanced if run on MtG's equipment system.
Yeah, it'd break the ones that are already just a cut above alot of the cards like call of the haunted
It wouldn't break axe of despair tho

I seem to recall people saying that Exosister would be tier 0 after their new support got announced and then when it was released, even with waifu bump bonus and a meta that the deck is suited to counter it's just barely on the edge of rogue.
It did get top 1 recently
@@Hanandro-C So did Sky Striker but it's still barely even something that would be considered rogue nowadays.
Idk if you’ve done it yet but a top 10 meta breaking decks list or a top 10 combo decks list would be cool
Dang shame such hyped cards or certain archetypes that has so much potential that can be popular in the meta game but ultimately fall short in the long run as the metagame is constantly ever changing in a very fast rate which the hyped promised cards can't keep up at all.
Poor Noble Nights… They could try to integrate Infernobles and Nobles more with some Noble and cross-support. Maybe not all hope is lost…
Ngl when I first understood how Link Monsters worked, I kinda thought Senet Switch *could* have some niche tech options
Ah the Noble Knights, I actually play a Noble Night deck sometimes (with the new support of Isolde/Infernobles). I know they arent really good but I play Ghostricks so that tells what you need to know about me XD
IMO, Sea Monster of Theseus is a good Super Poly target to get rid of problem cards like Halq... that is assuming you can spare an extra deck slot for it and are already running Super Poly.
WarRocks is another one hyped up by the community that didn't play out as ppl hoped it would be
The numeron engine up until the day of release was mega hyped then the prices dropped like a rock.
with senet switch. I only learned about the hype after links had been out for a little while, and thought the hype had been about moving monsters to free up your link arrows, rather than moving from emz to main, and ground collapse would theoretically be used similarly to block the zones next to the unoccupied emz
It’s actually nuts because a video like this will inspire a developer at Konami to create an equip spell heavy box set
I actually was surprised Sea Monster wasn't #1. I didn't know Noble Knights were hyped
I tried making the Dark Worlds work with the Danger! Engine but was having serious consistency issues. Either a hand full of Danger cards or Dark World bricks. But who knows, someone might make it work somehow.
I play danger darkworld in master duel, look at my clips on my channel, if you're interested, I can give you the deck list.
the new support give them so much draw power, i think consistency is not their worries, they still vulnerable though unless you out Grapha Overlord first.
@@Observe-h1t nice! I probably should have experimented more. Like with most decks i get the basics down and wander to others. I get lost in the sauce. lol
@@FullUhFools i run pure dark world and their consistency is insane that i can fill my hand so easily with Grapha and Reign-Beaux combo, I'm currently testing them with Slifer deck to get even more insane draw power or with Obelisk to get those juicy damage.

Seeing noble knights at #1 made me sad, since they're one of my fave decks/archetypes
Yeah, me too. If I were a character in one of the animes I would definitely play Noble Knights.
I remember Abyss Actor Wild Hope being overhyped for no reason, the week of their release
Love your naration, and your videos, but its time I move on from your channel as I do not know most of these cards, and I don't play yugioh at all - but it was a good ride with you, best of times. :)
Could we have a video explaining what TCG exclusive archetypes are and a quick round up/listing of those archetypes?
It is actually hard at times to find a proper list of which archetypes started out as TCG exclusive
Mr Logs, i don't know what you are talking about,
Noble Knights have to be Meta this time.
Look at all this support, they have to be meta this time
:copium:
Also let's not forget Theseus's first printing was misprinted 😂
Despite not being that strong, I still love noble knights. My favourite deck of all time
Kinda surprised Red Eyes Dark Dragoon isn't on this list for the TCG side anyway
Its really hard to say how over-hyped REDD was in the TCG because OCG got it pre-covid lockdowns in late 2019 and TCG got it in the fall of 2020. There were so many less high profile tournaments where REDD was at full power its hard to use the same metrics of tops to evaluated it. Its definitely true that by the time tournaments did pick up and especially when DPE was released the card completely fell off.
When I started playing again this year REDD definitely warped the meta at the local level. All the budget players had REDD and all the meta slaves had outs. You HAD to play non-targeting, non-destruction cards, Kaijus,… or else it was a scoop.
Probably because it was used competitive in tcg even though almost non of them topped a event and is completely fell once Dpe released
This is superb. Why don't you make a top 10 of pendulums? I would like to explore them a little further
He mentioned Witchcrafters. I can die happy now.
Crossout was a for sure thing but, due to the lack of hand traps and Maxx c, rip
I would love to see bad cards in otherwise good archetypes or the opposite, good cards in otherwise bad archetypes. Another great video DL!
cant wait for its opposite of the top 10 , cards that thought were suppose to be bad but somehow good at its debut
I thought the War Rock archetype would be on the list for sure. I still love the Dark World archetype even though the monsters can’t activate their effects if they are discarded for a cost. Hopefully the new Dark World deck coming out in 2023 will help one of my favorite archetypes.
War Rock probably isn’t on here because it wasn’t hyped up by anyone and everyone knew it was trash from the start
@Onyxs: I remember watching a video that said there were a lot of people excited about War Rocks just because they thought the artwork looked cool. Then the card effects were revealed and they turned out to be disappointing. I respect your opinion though.
The only deck I remember playing Sea Monster Of Theseus was cyber dragon since u could if and cyber dragon to make Ultimya Tzolkin to summon crystal wing. So with a good hand u could end on infinity crystal wing.
Anyone remember how hyped up Tour Bus was? Early xyz era was wild lol
Video idea: Top 10 cards themed around a number
Examples: Number 7 Lucky Straight, having 7 in the name, being a rank 7 and requiring to obtain a sum of 7 with dice to trigger its effect;
Evil Twin ki-sikil and li-la, being 2 twins, requiring the tribute of 2 monsters to be special summoned and leaving the opponent with inly 2 cards with its effect;
Trishula dragon of the ice barrier, which is the 3rd dragon of the ice barrier, has 3 heads, requires 3 materials and banishes 3 cards
Nothing beats muskets being hyped as "the next zoodiac"
I distinctly remember that people were also hyping up Elementsabers as "the next Zoo" due to their ability to basicallyy turn every monster in the archetype into foolish burial. But then it turns out its nowhere near good enough, hell its probably one of the few vrains-era archetypes I can think of that never once got more than a single wave of support. Even the likes of Metaphys and Tindangle dodged this fate
when i was younger i thought trade in was such a good card, explains why i frigging bricked so much. now i know that level 8 main decks either need to be boss monsters, easy to summon, or key cards in some way
I think the main reason Magic Musket had it rough was because it was expensive to make as well
Ancient Leaf was overhyped and EXTREMELY overbought during that time when it was "leaked" that MR5 would start with 16k LP
Legitimately I can't wait for Vaylantz in Master Duel. It just seems like so much fun!
2017 was just nut. Zoodiac, SPYRAL, True Draco, Aleister, Pendulum Magicians and Link monsters such as Firewall Dragon. And they thought a squid would be the best of the bunch
it was a really good thing that cross out was overhyped cause if cross out is a staple handtraps are too powerful or the meta needs more vierity
That’s why they just limited it in MD, HTs are running rampant there.
@@arrownoir my thinking that the ban list is not based on a card seeing too much use and then a check to see if its an issue, with a check for niche problematic cards. they also check a list of cards that even if identified as a problem they will ban around which would explain why cross out was hit despite max c making it a staple.

How about… And I’m just winging it here… An anti-hand trap monster that doesn’t do much else besides ignore and counter hand traps… Ley me try:
_Hand-Trapper_ (EARTH)
Level 4
Warrior/Tuner/Effect
_This card is unaffected by cards or effects that activate from your opponents hand. Once per turn (quick effect), when your opponent would activate a card or effect from their hand, you can negate that effect, then equip that card to this card, and if you do this card gains the following effects based on what kind of card it was:_
⚫️Monster: This card gains ATK/DEF equal to the ATK/DEF of any monsters equipped to this card.
⚫️Spell: When you would use this card as material for an Xyz Summon, you can attach cards equipped to this card as material for that Xyz Monster.
⚫️Trap: Once per turn this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect each
ATK/1500 DEF/1500
I remember playing against a noble knights player with my ghostrick burn deck one time at a locals during college back then. the guy had all the fixins of the noble knights at the time. Funny enough the deck was getting countered easily by Ghostrick lantern (before jackfrost and mary came out ) and the equip cards only fed the secret barrel effect. He lost both matches and i felt pretty bad because the deck i had was semi budget with pot of dichotomy being the most pricy ended up pummeling a deck that got tons of support.
