This man must be turning in his grave for the trash they turned his brand into and what they are aligning his name with. 🤨🤬🤯 His designs were beautiful.
Wonderful, wonderful video, thank you. Please do one on Worth, Madame Gres, Jean Patou and other earlier designers. Also, a history of mid to late 1800 to the early 1900s French designers who catered to the growing number of very wealthy Americans who were trying to break into the British aristocracy and to a lesser extent the French aristocracy as well. These women commissioned dozens and dozens of evening gowns and dresses each. To a less extravagant extent, the British and French aristocracy did the same. It was an incredible era and there must surely be treasure trove of illustrations available to choose from. Thank you.
some years ago an exposition on balenciaga came to mexico city and i was so in love with all of the revolutionary silhouettes he created, which is why i just can’t like today’s balenciaga, this isn’t fashion forward. it’s an insult to cristobal balenciaga's thoughtful and masterful innovation.
The true “Master of Haute Couture”He is irreplaceable and no other designer can compare his impeccable work. While most designers are lacking of skills in patternmaking and dress construction (sewing) Shame on them claiming the title of creative director but doesn’t know how to draft or cut patterns and sew.
I love these fashion histories. I'm trying hard to resist watching them all at once so that I'll always have a new one to see. We'll see how THAT goes... 😂.
Thank you! I can't remember how I landed here, but I've always been curious about why this or that designer in the world of haute couture was important, and why Balenciaga was, according to Diana Vreeland, "THE last word in fashion." I'll be watching the Elsa Schiaparelli clip next.
Wonderful presentation. It is a disgrace to his memory that the oversized, low quality street wear garbage has become what people see today. Too many designers are more about shock value, lewdness, and vulgarity and more stylist than real design. RIP Cristobal.
Current Balenciaga is a love letter to CB through the lens of a new generation. The parallels to Demna and Cristobal are enormous. I hope you're not still clutching your pearls.
(Enjoying your channel immensely) Balenciaga was for the sake of art and for the rich… Dior was for everyone. All levels of retail copied Dior. His “New Look” WAS western girls/women’s fashion from 1947-1962. (And throw in that traitor Channel’s cardigan suit copied for the masses) 🤗

Très très chic 👌
The unique that Coco and Cristian really admired.

Agreed. Sad how the wonderful legacy has become perverted and trashy.

welcome back
All my aunties were the cocoon coats in the 50's
If he could see what happened to his couture house he would be sick.

What the current generation is doing, is ruining the Balenciaga name. The pedophilic campaign made the public physically sick.
I think not. Pretentious fuqs is more like it
Their fashion just looks like they grabbed stuff out of the hamper that was dirty and wrinkled to heck and back.
Ohh my goodness, 😮😮 you are authentic joker.
Basically he copied old styles from 100's of years previous
Nooo, only inspired in the spanish máster painter, for example the Virgin of Zurbarán. Balenciaga never copied.
