Benny Gee A lot of professional burners prefer the craft tool. You can burn just as well with it. I will use it in videos and film to encourage newbies to start with it. :)
Hey Hunter! If you're just starting out, I would recommend a craft burner like chandler tool or walnut hollow. They both offer quality beginner burners with solid brass tips. And they range from $12 - $30. Or you can go right to the pro burner machines which range from $150 - $500 depending on which brand/model you buy. I started with a craft burner and once I decided that I was hooked on wood burning and wanted to start making lots of projects, I upgraded to a pro burner. Colwood, Burnmaster, Razertip, Truart, Optima are all good brands.
Hey Lisa, it could be a few things, the type of wood you’re burning, the varnish, or the tonal value of your shades. Some woods change color more than others when varnished and sometimes the varnish itself has a yellow tint or color.
Both look horrible Art Forlife? You're one to critique when you're here seeking shading techniques... You must think strippers love you too I'm guessing
I also do the pyrography and just started the channel, but my technique is a little different and unique, according to the videos I’ve seen, I haven’t yet spotted that anyone would have a similar technique
You’re amazing. This is way harder than you think.
Thanks Anthony! 🔥😊
Good 👍

I kinda prefer the craft burner 😎

Your great 👍
I suppose it helps to have a tight grain wood, or doesn't it matter what type of wood you use?
Mark McRostie It does matter. When you’re shading, it helps to have a nice soft wood with a consistent grain pattern like poplar or basswood.
Like it
Sangat bermanfaat
Terima kasih 😊
Thank you for this tutorial. What tip are you using with the pro burner?
Thanks Wendy! This is is my spoon shader tip from Colwood.
Great video! What tip are you using for the pro burner? Does the shape of it have a name? :)
vroseria It’s a shader tip. :)
How do I remove extra marks from the carbon paper. I've tried 3 different erasers. It smears the mark. Looks terrible
Hey Tammy! Here’s a video with some tips for removing carbon: ruclips.net/video/9MS5fEr8S3s/видео.html
Next time I recommend you to start with lighter tones, cause it looks so much natural and real! 🤪🔥
Thanks, I’ll try that.
hello i want to buy 1 or 2 tips but it look like i have to by a set !??? thanks for your help. i watch your videos a lot
i have a colwood
Hey Carol, try woodburning.com.
I’m just getting back into all this, I watch a lot of your videos and love what you do, what would you recommend for ordering for a Woodburning kit?

Why do I lose some of my shading after I seal?
Hey Lisa, it could be a few things, the type of wood you’re burning, the varnish, or the tonal value of your shades.
Some woods change color more than others when varnished and sometimes the varnish itself has a yellow tint or color.
what are the best finger sleeves for heat ?
Hey Carol, I like the Jatai finger guards from amazon.
🙏
What do you use to clean the tips with on the pro burner? Also, do you use the same thing to clean the build up off when it’s still hot?
Colwood makes cleaning burrs. You can buy them in a five pack on their website. I wait until it's cool and then clean up the carbon. :)
Thanks for that, I’ll check them out
Both looks horrible.
Art Forlife 😂😂 thanks!
