One additional note: Though I'm not a vegan/vegetarian there are several other good reasons for using egg substitutes i.e. allergies, food born illnesses like salmonella and mess - no shells you have to dispose of or bacterial medium you have to clean up and unfortunately egg albumin is one of the worst (good if you want to culture certain types of bacteria - in the lab).

We’re not Jewish and even my mom shreds actual potatoes and onions when she makes potato pancakes.
You are so fun😂😂. Happy Hanukkah!
This was a delight to watch. We aren't Jewish (we're Mormon) but we love Hanukkah and share it and it's traditions with our kids and grand kids. Thanks for a fun latke tutorial!
Chives are chives in the UK, scallions or green onions are spring onions 😊
I recommend using avocado oil
Tyler Thomas peanut oil
YES this would be so good!
Shalom Mayim,have a Happy Hanukkah,latkes are delicious
I havent seen your posts on any asmr videos in a while. I was worried about you glad your alive
2:55: "Everybody's like, I just got annoyed with Mayim. She's annoying." That'll never happen😀 YES, to more cooking videos🖒
Martina F. - I got annoyed when she started using that prepackaged stuff instead of cooking from scratch.
sweetcanada17 it clearly stares it’s a sponsored video. Hush now.
Amanda Middleton - it’s clearly not visible enough for people with bad vision.
sweetcanada/// she uses prepackaged because SHE CAN'T ACTUALLY COOK,JUST ANOTHER HOLLYWOOD FRAUD!!! THE GOOD THING ABOUT TBBT ENDING IS THE FACT THAT I DON'T HAVE TOO WATCH THE CHARACTERS AMY AND RAJ'S POOR,TEETH GRINDING PERFORMANCE'S!!! BOTH OF THOSE SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN OUT YEARS AGO!!! TBBT HAS GOT RID OF A LOT BETTER TALENT THAN THOSE TWO!!!
I loved that part. I learned something 😍 now I'm gonna cook better 😁
Love your energy and personality Mayim
I was inspired and tried it tonight. Never made them before. It was a success! Thank you, Mayim.
In my case egg allergy..
I love you, your so hilariously funny, keep them coming.
“I tend to be a messy cook” relatable 😂 I can’t eat potato but these look yummy! What a fun video, happy Hanukkah 💕
You can make them with cauliflower, zucchini or another root vegetable. :)
Or white sweet potato for a savory version or sweet potato latkes would be amazing with applesauce. You might need to add either a little more egg or some flour to bind the sweet potato together. Look up recipes ;)
It probably has no real potato in that box!
I always eat my latkes with applesauce. Been doing it for 42 years and now I have my teenage children doing it. Love your channel. I live in Georgia and in my town I think there is about a total of 10 Jews. So it's so nice watching your videos.
You crack me up, I love the sass. I have to count out loud too! Very pretty spread 😊 Yay for veganizing traditional dishes!
I loved the apron
Yes, more cooking episodes please!! I am non-denominational and I WANT some of those dang latkes!!! LOL
Girl....you crack me up. I try Latkes before and there real good..I once attempt it and it came it out OK...😁...but, you gave me ideas in trying the avocado and the buffalo style. Thanks for sharing your cooking skill...
Thanks Mayim !! Gonna try all of these... they sound so good!!
I love Mayim. She is so cool and funny. I'm 58, but I wish she was my mom!! BTW, since I'm so old, I love my latkes the traditional way, with apple sauce and sour creme. HOWEVER, I think that the avocado toast idea is right on the money.
Please do it from real potatoes, onion etc., I don't believe, that the food from the powder taste the same.
yeah my mom always made from scratch & after growing up with that, could never eat the powdered monstrosities...
It doesn't
Citygirl Lbrand I too feel this connection with the Jewish heritage and I don’t know if I am Jewish? I just posted a similar comment about my grandmother’s maiden name lol! My grandmother’s was Steinbrescher.
@@ThisIsYourOnlyWarning Today it s easy, You just should do a DNA test. It s realy interesting learn new things about Your family. But it s better, if the oldest family members do the test.
@@camillecali2 Hi! I'm curious whether you have retained some of your Catholic beliefs. It would be cool if the Judaic tradition was added on to your Catholic heritage rather than replacing it.
Please make more cooking videos this is so fun!!!!☺☺☺
Happy Hanukkah Mayim ❤️🕎
I love that you share your real life with us! Happy Hannakuh!
I've had avocado on toast since I was a kid. The joys of having them indigenous here in South Africa. Happy Hanukkah.
I'm just starting looking at new things in my Christ faith has this is the first year I won't be celebrating Christmas. You are so fun and hannakka is something I'm looking into doing in December. X
I looooooooooooove when you do cooking videos😉👏💖😍
You are adorable. Great ideas. Happy Chanukah ✡️
Oh I love watching your cooking videos. Definitely make more!!!!
Exactly who is thumbing down your videos? That's ridiculous. What haters! While I'm not a fan of mayochup/thousand island dressing or melty cheese vegan or not, I do love avocado toast and buffalo anything and I'm not a millennial! Just glad that you also cook from the box. I was feeling guilty about using potato pancake and matzo ball mixed but now you made me feel better! Thanks Mayim!Happy Hanukkah!
MayimBialik, Happy Hanukkah! 🔯
