  • In preparation for the launch of Gran Turismo 7, join me as take a look at the evolution of Trial Mountain from the original Gran Turismo, all the way to Gran Turismo 7, as we collate all the information we can get from the game's trailer so far.
    Trial Mountain has been with us right from day one, and it went on to appear in multiple Gran Turismo games, with its last appearance to date being Gran Turismo 6, as it wasn't present on Gran Turismo Sport.
    However, the classic course has been renovated for Gran Turismo 7, and it'll make its long-awaited return next year!

    Its widely believed by many (Including me) that the road that goes under the current pitlane is actually the old pitlane. Anyone that remembers how tricky that was the nail will likely remember that. They are just baiting because of the colossal failure of GT Sport in terms of content and campaign design. They don't actually care about the single player campaign anymore, sadly.
      Think about it... an entire PlayStation console generation that came and went without a full Gran Turismo release. All they had to do is slightly upgrade the models and sounds of the PS3 version and recycle the GT4 or GT6 campaign. Instead we got a buggy paid PS Plus subscription service multiplayer early access beta with laggy menus, broken penalty system and random loot-box-style car rewards for simply driving and a %-slider for engine tuning that you spend XP on. It was the first GT release that I immediately hated - on first start up. Hours of updating, broken forced always-online in the beginning, not being able to save when the servers went down... a total disaster, basically what Ubisoft did with AC2, which made me boycott the entire company. If GT7 does not make an effort to continue where GT6 left us, I'm done with Sony as well.

      @@schlafanzyk GT Sport is a failure ah yes. You absolutely don’t have any clue what you are talking about. I admit when GT Sport was out, it wasn’t very good, as you said it. But it’s in fantastic shape atm; an e sport sponsored by FIA, all cars are extremely high quality, the online features like the discover menus, livery editor and photo mode are absolutely fantastic and amazing additions that will be present in gt7. • @suntannedduck2388
    @suntannedduck2388 3 года назад +39

    The track being 'fictional' is fair enough that they can change it however but to me the new changes make it too safe and more boring compared to the rises and dips before on certain corners and straights. It made you have to really consider what was coming up next every so often and it was challenging and fun to drive on. And losing the 'flying opportunity hill' to be more 'safe' at the end of the chicane is fine but honestly kills it for me. It was funny/sometimes helpful and the older parts gave it more personality like the rock walls than just a few average flat straights and corners with a few signs to direct us like we can see in the trailer after the first tunnel, it's so lifeless. It will feel like a more entry/medium level track I guess which it was most of the time I think but even still, the hills gave it so much fun driving potential, but everything being real takes the fun and creativity out of it so it's more bland, flat and uninteresting rather than an adventure or challenging circuit that hasn't been tampered with. Even the walls where the final chicane was makes it less fun, sure you aren't supposed to go onto the grass but even still being too confined makes sense for a tunnel or a city circuit then restricting space on some track that's intended to be near a lake and in the woods somewhere that I would expect more as a hillclimb, that or it feeling like a go kart track then anything now that I think about it. I hope that the FIA doesn't ruin some of the other classic tracks so they are too safe even though they are 'fictional'. Especially in the case of Deep Forest where the trees are moved more so it's not as dense/blinding even though it's appeal of the track. I'm not big on environments in games but to me the classic tracks in GT games I enjoy more than the real ones because of their personality and challenge, it's why I can't get into Forza but can Project Gotham Racing besides it being an Arcade Racer, the city areas are used really well to make challenging environments just like how Tokyo R246 or the Special Stage Route tracks, too many real tracks to me feels so boring to drive on one after the other in championships without a good mix of real and fictional, the fictional tracks look and feel appealing as break up from the safe environments of the real circuits, them being changed will make the tracks more boring and mundane than a fun adventure to drive on and compete against opponents or get better times on in time trial when the challenges the track presents are lost and the times may be more achievable but the results in getting it feel straightforward and like a casual drive I'm not interested in.
    I hope to see an Autumn Ring comparison with the GT Concept look and when it last appeared. Still great video.

    I would absolutely welcome good changes to tracks, if they actually serve a positive impact on gameplay. A good example was SSR 11, where the track was made much less frustrating and more beautiful in GT3.
    But this whole thing feels more like Sony/PD pandering to GT fans who were rightfully disappointed by GT Sport...
    So here you go boomers: Take this original track where we butcher the players' favorite chicane of the series in order to make room for more bragging rights in terms of starting grid and may be a few of you will still buy a PS5 to play it. I for one have learned my lesson from GT Sport and will not buy a GT7 PS5 bundle on release day and I encourage everyone to not do so either and wait for reviews of the actual "finished" product (which seems to be an oxymoron in the game industry these days). My biggest consumer electronics regrets in the last 5 years were all Sony (Xperia Z3, KD55AF8, PS4 Pro). Forcing people to get PS Plus membership to access multiplayer for a broken always-online early access demo/beta that was sold at full retail price was absolute the height of customer exploitation and still ignites rage in me whenever I hear anyone mention GT Sport. I give them one last chance. If they screw it up again, Sony can join Ubisoft on my list of banned publishers.

      I think that title belongs to High Speed Ring, as it was heavily featured in the betas of the first game. Either that or Deep Forest

    wow, they absolutely ruined Turn 5. that's such a nice corner if you can nail your entry and exit. actually that whole section between the two tunnels was always a lot of fun, it's a shame they've dumbed it down. also, reverse.. Monza, anyone?

    I don't like that you won't be able to jump the last corner anymore. That was always the fun part of the track, especially if you were able to completely flip your car over during the race - or doing so to finish/win the race.

    they made it much more generic. I love the old fanatsy GT tracks, they feel so .. otherworldly. One of the few tracks that don't consist of run off areas and Tecpro/Tirewall- Forests. (btw. Deepforest is my favourite mod track for AC :) )

    Is it just me or does Trial Mountain (like many other tracks) look very dry and bland in GT4 and later revisions? It seems to me like all of the tracks had better contrast and colors in GT3.

      To be fair that's how it would look IRL, GT3 had way too much color saturation and contrast
