If you use the change track code , after you select the Hi-Res Mode ( in GT Mode if I remember ) , you can play all the tracks in high framerate, without removing some objects. So , for example, you can play Trial Mountain at 50 (or 60) fps, or Route11 in full version :)
I agree with what Matt says at 18:22. In fact, Special Stage Route 11 is even more complicated when you're doing iA License test #7 with the TVR Griffith 4.0. One big mistake (whether it's spinning out of control or crashing into a certain wall at high speed) easily leads to failing the test. It's worse when you're trying to go for gold.

Also, for some reason, the NSX Type S-Zero is actually a phenomenal vehicle while stock for GT1. Amazing handling, low vehicle weight, and ridiculous acceleration. This should also be on the list of good arcade mode vehicles, especially as a starter vehicle. If anyone has played enough of GT1 simulation, you know that NSX is insane in the Normal Cars event. The only vehicles I know that can beat it for that special event are the Subaru WRX Type-R, any TVR, any Viper, or a Type S-Zero itself.
I genuinely had no idea all this time that Arcade had different physics from Career, though to be fair, I was maybe 10 when I first played this game and I haven't revisited it in much depth. I now plan to soon to give Arcade more focus this time.
As far as I know, all GT Arcade modes are not as different from the simulation mode, they are more of a "free mode" of sorts. I think they did this on the first game because they were somewhat uncertain how the game would perform.

How and why did Japan find a band so obscure like Cubanate and make instrumental versions of their songs for the American market, when most Americans would've never heard of the band anyway unless they read the music credits to GT? The music is a very good strong point to the original, something they should've kept through the entire series.
Old "gentleman's agreement" from back then. The Japanese manufacturers got together and agreed to not make any cars with more than 276 HP for sale in Japan. What ended up happening is they built cars with more than 276 HP (like the Supra Turbo and Skyline GT-R, which actually had 300-325 HP) but ADVERTISED them as only having 276.
so these 4 cars are unlocked only for arcade mode and not in the real game which is the gran turismo mode. that's stupid game design :( why is there the dodge concept car in the car shop when the game doesn't allow you to buy it

I cleared SSR5 first and got Toyota, so I think the brands are unlocked in a set order.
I wonder how similar the arcade mode car data is to the simulation mode car data.
Which emulator do you use, and what are your plugins and settings for graphics?
Sketchy I use Pete's D3D plugin for the graphics, and for the settings, basically just the highest quality for everything.

There are 60fps gameshark codes that allow you to play whole game in it. Except original ps1 isn't able to handle it so you must play on emulator

i hate that you cant unlock all vehicles in simulation mode, that's truly the only flaw i see in the first 2 games

In real life, the concept car never got sold to the public. The only way to get the car in simulation mode is to get all gold in b license.
I loved this game but effing sucked at it.
