Yes!! 'There Will Be Blood' - my favorite movie and one of the greatest movies ever made, the best movie made in the last 2 decades for sure, with mindblowing performances of Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano. Also, the original, Swedish 'Let the Right One in' is a masterpiece! Love these choices!
yes, same!! and it's important to say the original, Swedish one, because, of course, The US made their version after, but it's nowhere near as good as the original.
Okay I've been a little hesitant around Glen Powell since he seemed to appear so suddenly and so aggressively (due to marketing), but those top four are solid and unapologetic! Tootsie rules.
I still have reservations about him as an actor. He has undeniable comedic talent - that was already apparent in Scream Queens, he was hilarious as Chad, and he further proved it in Everybody Wants Some, Top Gun, and now Hit Man (although for me Hit Man was a disappointment after all the amazing reviews - it was ok and sometimes funny but it wasn't as great as all these reviews claimed), but honestly, for me his range is not great. So far, he is weak in very serious, dramatic roles, and I watched all his movies. Glen's dramatic roles fall flat for me, we will see if he gets better in the future, as now he has quite a few serious projects in the works. He is now aggressively promoted because he is classically handsome, but for now, I honestly don't see some mind-blowing acting talent. He is ok.
If someone asked me for this I'd absolutely had to include the matrix, watched it first time in my grandparents* bedroom while they were sleeping....it was getting near the end so it was maybe midnight and a commercial came on and grandma woke up and said what are you doing.....I said I'm watching the best film of my life
hey letterboxd, we really miss how you used to show people’s names on the screen when they’d appear! I understand it’s a bit trickier because of the new editing style, but hey… maybe there’s some way to bring it back?

I love when people don't over think it and like Retta just list their go to can watch on repeat films, Underworld is not one you hear often 😅 Glen looking seriously skinny though
No one has been braver in this series than putting Underworld as one of their faves. You have my respect
Drop that Top 200 on Letterboxd, Rick!
Sanjay Rao with the 3 Film Bro movies and then all of a sudden it's Portrait of a Lady on Fire lmfao
That’s a filmbro movie lol
Love that three of them have a Linklater film in their top 4.
bold of linklater to say the godfather trilogy when he created the best trilogy of all time
hell yeah
I love Linklater's list. Especially The Long Goodbye.
He's too humble
She is so real for putting Underworld there.
Absolute legend for liking Godfather III. Great movie.
Yeah, i don't think is that bad like people, still inferior to the first two films
Garcia is cracking in it as is Pacino

The choices that came up in these were immaculate: Love Actually, Oldboy, Portrait of a Lady of Fire 🤌🤌🤌
A lot of great ones mentioned here that don’t usually get included on lists.
Loved all their picks, especially Linklater's
So glad somebody mentioned Let the right one in. Definitely a top 10 movie for me, its fantastic!
Her top 4 was the best by far imho
yes, same!! and it's important to say the original, Swedish one, because, of course, The US made their version after, but it's nowhere near as good as the original.
@@NaticzkaKaminskaHenryDolphin I also love “Let Me In” tho. NGL
@@drewmcgill5290Good picks but Glen literally picked all time greats, hard to beat
1:47 THANK YOU! YES IT IS!!
I always seeing directors saying their favourite four films, is always so fun
Cinema Paradiso! I love her even more now! ❤
Excellent choices for everyone!😉
Underworld is a true inspired choice. That’s like a real favorite movie you’re not willing to tell anyone about.
“I feel like I listed a bunch of boy movies.” 😂
Bix has great taste. Can't wait for Andor S2.
Boyhood is my 37th Favourite Film
Waking Life is my 1st Favourite Film
@@lesryglrhfohser it's on my watchlist
These people have made the best choices in any top four video.
Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Dazed and Confused, and Boyhood are in my Top 10 films of all time
I’ve always liked Retta, but after hearing her top 4, I respect her even more.
Anyone that picks Portrait of a Lady on Fire 🔥 has amazing taste in film
I love hearing peoples four favorites, but I wish they were prepared for it!

He's been on the map of every cool person since 2016 when he was in EVERYBODY WANTS SOME!!
Watch him in Everybody Wants Some!!
@@maximumoccupancy yes! have loved him since everybody wants some, I was like this actor needs to be star!
@@maximumoccupancy I wasn't cool in 2016, so that makes sense!

cool folks, cool flicks, good picks! really liked this one.
glen powell is so ridiculously good looking
Funny that Glen Powell mentioned Jurassic Park in his top 4 while he was eyed to star in the new Jurassic World movie

portrait of a lady on fire... he's so real for that
Didn’t know that Ricardo Arjona had a daughter actress
Underworld and Opening Night ❤️
Legends
Yeee let the right one in🔥
Richard Linklater is lowkey another member of the "does thsi mf age?" group. Grey hair aside he looks basically the same as he did 30 years ago.
finally someone named Jurrasic Park
I love “Fight Clubum.”
Hey! Linklater with some Vincente Minnelli, “some came running”! 🤝
hey letterboxd, we really miss how you used to show people’s names on the screen when they’d appear! I understand it’s a bit trickier because of the new editing style, but hey… maybe there’s some way to bring it back?
Add Linklater to letterboxed and drop the top 200
linklater's accent reminds me of mike d'antoni

I haven’t seen most of those movies but it wouldn’t be an issue if he is more successful in the comedic range imo

man glen powell is the bard pit of ower genreation
These are fun but give me secondhand anxiety
Looks like glen Powell is taking ozempic.
Boyhood took 12 YEARS TO MAKE!
