Most underrated filmmaker of the last 30 years. Rick is a Hall of Fame American director and deserves to be recognized as such.
Maybe he is not the most popular but he is quite respected, I wouldn't say underrated.
@@bugsbunnywearingasmoking801 but we live in an era where popularity masquerades as respect. The more followers, the higher standing. Linklater doesn't play that bs.
@@jakedee507 He's not underrated. His movies are just under-watched. Most mainstream audiences don't even know he exists. It's impossible to underrate, properly rate, or overrate someone you don't know exists. lol
What is this semantic nonsense? He's underappreciated. Unheralded. Under viewed. But not underrated. Heard.
@@jakedee507 It's not semantic nonsense. He has some of the highest rated movies of all time. So calling him underrated is in fact nonsense. Calling his movies under-watched is more accurate.
Linklater really is a mad lad. He’s literally in the process of adapting the musical Merrily We Roll Along. It should be released by 2040.
Yea, I remember when "Boyhood" came out, so many people did not believe that the same person who made this art film made "School of Rock". He is mad genius.
Funny how Tarantino and other directors care so much about spoilers they'll literally add warnings before screenings meanwhile Rick is just giving away the ending non chalantly during press for the new movie.
People who care so much about spoilers don't actually love cinema. Cinema has always about HOW things happen not WHAT happens.
Richard Linklater is one of my favourite directors. I wonder if he'll ever create a follow up to the Before Trilogy?
But then it wouldn’t be a trilogy :O
Lol like them as grandparents?
Richard Linklater is my favorite director of all time
I wanna be as chill and zen as Rick one day.
I always enjoy hearing Richard Linklater talk. When it's about movies I love it even more.
I'd love to see what a Linklater adaptation of a Stephen King story would be like. They both are great with combining small town Americana with bits of the unusual.
He would be a great person to adapt King's Later that came out about four years ago.
Thanks loved this❤
Loved Hitman!!
Loved this movie
Legend
An all time great
all brain and no heart...heh heh! 😁
Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan doing lie detector test when?
Couldn't watch past 15 minutes. So boring and smug.
Hard agree
15 minutes? Were you watching at 1.5x ? If not - your fault.
Were you watching again?
