Rob is going to end up keeping this one so can not wait to see the finished result! I used to do this for a living on caravans, get some over matts made from a template and get the edges whipped, looks like you need a new TV Ariel on the roof, just be careful its not letting any water in
Hi both, My first job was getting hold of motorcaravans and prepping them for sale. We jetwashed them first, followed by autoglym resin polish on the body to bring the colour back. Back to black and dress up the engine bay in WD40. I'm the inside If they never had a carpet, we would fit a new carpet running from the cab to the back. It transforms them massively. We even put plastic carpet protector tape over the top in a strip. The fridges sometimes need to be level to get cold (will run off gas or eletric)
Yes that is a good idea to get a top notch carpet remnant and do as you have suggested rather than getting a runner stitched. But you do need something carpety because of treading in and out.
Looks lovely after the clean. The nature of the game means that you have to buy when you get the chance, when the time comes the other motorhomes will get done. For the inside maybe have a word with your upholstery seat guy and see if he would be able to recover the seats and do a new bit of carpet for the front to modernise it. Keep the old carpet as a template and have the new piece's edges overlock stitched to stop fraying.
Having used caravans for 40 years I was told never to use a pressure washers as it could affect the seams. It’s a little late now. Still think you did a great job Rob, the overall condition will make a great motor home
You are quite correct never to use a pressure washer because the seams on vehicles of that age shrink over time and you get water ingress - an initial clean with a garden hose & soft brush & appropriate cleaning products is best - TIP; the best way to maintain the outside (every two months if not using a cover) is to use the services of a waterfed pole window cleaner who uses purified water (reverse osmosis) with a soft brush,
lol 😂. I knew this would come up . Ignore the tuggers 😂. Fine to use a pressure washer on a motorhome but you need to seriously avoid the sealed areas and joints. You can’t clean the roof properly any other way but you MUST avoid blasting the sikaflex around roof windows .
Now that's a before and after! It's amazing what a good clean can do to a vehicle, even when you are selling. Definitely change the rear lino for something more 'woody' and it will certainly make the interior feel more modern. Aside from that, you'll have no problem shifting this 👍🏻
What a transformation guys, you could see see the yellowing on the rear improve when you used the chemical caravan cleaner, foamed, and jetted it. Maybe I should go get my Karcher out and clean my car and get soaking wet as it's 40C here this week in Portugal, even walking the dog is exhausting for both of us! Seriously though it looks brilliant. I'm not a motor homer but I'd put carpet inside to spruce it up as the lino isn't 100% would make it look much better and also I'd personally put blue, black or grey seat covers on the front seats, pink's a bit 70's, Reverse camera sounds like a must have to me. Jenny chem products look effective, worked well on the door mirror and door handle. Great work!
Wow, that must have been very satisfying, I had a caravan for years and it use to absolutely knacker me for several weeks getting it clean before we went away each year. Never used a power washer though. The inside will also come up well, it will be immaculate. I can see a good profit coming on this motorhome. Credit to you!
Rob, I am no detailer, but a good investment would be a small selection of detailing brushes. I am always amazed how much cleaner a vehicle looks once all the nooks, crannies, rain channels and gutters, window surrounds etcetera are thoroughly cleaned out with a good squirt of APC and a going over with a soft-bristled brush.
When I had a motorhome I was always advised never to clean it with a pressure washer because it forced water into the joints and caused damp between the insulation and outer metal skin.
Yes I made that mistake with my caravan. Used a pressure washer on it and when I went inside I found a massive damp patch in the roof seal. I’d literally blown the skin apart which caused water ingress I was furious with myself. But luckily got it repaired.
You can use one but have to stand further away, but that's defeating the object really, the beauty with PW it gets the moss out of the awkward bits (but no good if it's going to cause damp)
Yes, we had a very similar motorhome to this and I never dared to pressure wash it, as the panel seals needed redoing periodically anyway. These things are built like caravans and flex a lot whilst moving, so as the sealant ages and loses elasticity, the risk of water ingress increases. We're going to go for a metal van conversion type of campervan next, as I grew tired of having to repair the thing every year! We loved it and had loads of fun all over the country and France, but mid 90s aged motorhomes do tend to need a lot of TLC...
As little motor home's go, you've landed a gooden there Rob and now it's been given a bit of a clean it looks fantastic. And it's got a bit of character. I reckon putting a bit of carpet down in the back is a good idea and maybe use the same carpet to replace the cab carpet as well and just put some mats down.
Would recommend a combi ladder instead of those step ladders, they have a 3rd section that extends above the step ladder and gives something to hold on to instead of the balancing act on the top, 3 points of contact, safety first ... 😀
I have one I never use anymore. VERY expensive purchase complete with gauge on the side for angles. Never know what to sell it for but doubt I would get a lot for it.
Agreed I fell off one last year onto large planters and broke 2 , ended up with massif bruising on my backside ,I was lucky no lasting damage ,at 71 you do not take kindly to sudden knocks 😂😂😂.
I really think the reason why you’re so successful lads is because you have such a good mix of cars / vehicles. I also watch other RUclipsrs like Matt, saving salvage and a Geordie lad who has Cossie’s and a couple based in the states. If you only had the newest cars I wouldn’t watch. Honestly, the Lambo’s and Aston’s really bore me and there’s loads of channels that have the supercars and expensive stuff. I’d much prefer watching an old Mini or Viva being rescued. Keep up the great work Rob & Chris.
you will get home and Claire will have bought you some Marigolds and a feather duster, and a apron with "no waffling" printed on it ,all this cleaning your doing, excellent video as always guys :) :)
It has certainly benefitted from the wash and brush up treatment. Not so surprising after the life it has suffered. When it is left so long, the muck almost becomes part of the paintwork. Getting it back to white would be great, but one heck of a load of work if you are polishing it all by hand, even with the power mop. Carpet could be nice, but not the domestic stuff used in houses. One of the tough automotive variety, that can be cleaned up, and will resist the wear and hazards of life. The better radio and a reversing camera would be great, especially if it covers the above ground aspects to detect low branches. However, this is all adding costs and time to the project, there are limits to the potential sale price you do not want to exceed.
Not sure if you've noticed but on the passenger side on the bottom, the grew bit next to the door looks as if it's been pushed inwards. Not sure it it's meant to be like that, I know nothing about caravans/motorhomes. Other that that, looks as good as new, great job!
11.47 that rack on back where the plastic bit on right hand side changed from Black to Red , then later left side cleaned up the same. Looking good guys , problems with carpeting the rear it will get dirty very quickly , where flooring can get mopped out easily
Have you heard of “retro-bright” ? It’s a technique of removing yellowing from plastics by hydrogen peroxide and UV light. I imagine that it’s an aluminium cladding body with some kind of plasticised coating. 6% peroxide in a cellulose thickened water based gel. Smear it on on a sunny day…… ? Works on old PC cases
Superb project guys, it comes up really nice. I would suggest you use some pvc flooring (off the roll) to cover the floor. When u use a (stone)grey colour, it will really lift up the interior, as grey is already on the seats and cushions. Carpet seems nice, but in a camper of will get dirty quick, look at the carpet jou took from the cabin. Can 't wait for you to crack on!
Keep the lino in the back and supply a carpet runner to match the cab.get the edges bound and put on velcro carpet grippers. Do one for the side step door as well.
Jennychem have been going a while - amazed they let the Caravan Cleaner go out the door with such an obvious typo on the label. Do they do an equivalent to G101 and is it as good? Again, what's it like under the bonnet? Don't forget to clean out the inside of the exterior cupboards, eg gas bottle storage. Personally I would just clean that front carpet (which is original and not worn) and put some clear antislip roll over the existing vinyl floor - carpet might not be good in a cooking area due to food spills - changing just part of the colourway would IMO look a bit odd and suggest something is being hidden?
I would sort out the paintwork on the front bumper and just do the essentials. Motorhome enthusiasts/buyers love tinkering and you could leave the tarting up for them to do.
Hello Rob and Chris. What an amazing difference. I’d put Lino in the back. Good idea re the radio/reversing camera, that will prevent accidents and damage. Carpet in the front will come up clean I bet. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Hello Chris, just watched you clean the motorhome, what a great finish with the use of the industrial solution, so amazed with the ease of application then power washed!! Just a personal thought a peice of carpet from front (in the cab) through to the back would be great. Anyhow, looking forwards to seeing another video on this project. Best wishes to you both, from Lincolnshire.
Best flooring for the rear of the motorhome would be some non slip wood effect vinyl, don't forget in that area you've got the kitchen and bathroom area so carpet would be a no go
Thank you...carpet is a no-go. So many on here with their "Ooooh! a lovely piece of carpet will look lovely!" nonsense. As you say, non-slip effect vinyl will do everything a carpet will...sound deadening, insulation....without all the misery a carpet will bring. (Edit: Wrote "slop" instead of "slip"....ha ha ha....same thing really!)
Definitely non slip vinyl all the way, ignore my RUclips name (daughter took over it years ago) I've been a floor fitter for 15+ years and no-one has carpet in their kitchen or bathroom areas, like I said some nice wood effect non slip vinyl would transform the back end and would last
Love this 😀 easy and cheap modernisation. Take that wood effect plastic off the dash. Neutral colour seat covers. New lino on the rear floor. New cupboard handles and fix the lavvie room door. You'll take 10 years off it and weld $$$ on too. Good luck and brilliant video 😄👌😄
There is a lot of hard graft there Rob but its going to pay off for you. Completely agree with you about jennychem - absolutely brilliant customer service and products for making all vehicles safe to use, clean and look their best.
Carpet Rob defo. One thing Rob don't balance on steps like that, might not seem very high but if you come off especially with water flying about.Get a platform or part of a scaffold tower on locking wheels. Motorhome already looking good and will soon be retail ready!
Suggest you visit a “new” caravan dealer to get some ideas on how to update the look and feel of the camper. However, at this point, once you’ve taken care of the mechanicals and passed MOT, suggest you sell it to some up and coming RUclipsr as is.
My thoughts are just where you step inside the door you could leave the flooring the same, so it is wipeable from wet, grass, mud, and carpet from the kitchen area down to the table area. We had caravans and especially in this country we do get a lot of wet weather and a lot of campsites are lawned areas. Just my opinion, hope it helps. Good job by the way.
As I said on the first video use Karndean vinyl, either sheet or plank. More expensive than standard vinyl but super hard wearing. the plank effect strips will be economical with little waste. Add a couple of whip edged rugs, sorted.
Looking good Rob, you have done well there. There is a product on the market that you can use on those vents (and the other camper) if you seal the plastic then spray it on . I wish I could remember the name but sorry I can't. I would give the seats a clean and the rear ones, I don't think it is worth going to the expense of a recover. If I lived near you I would do it as a favour! I think you could have a roll up carpet, a large runner or as previously said use carpet tiles (commercial grade). They are hard wearing and can be replaced one at a time if they are too dirty to clean. You would need to buy an aluminum strip to fit around the door to keep them in place, just mitre the corners. I think if you paint the bumpers as you planned then the rest of the outside will look a bit dull so buffing is the answer. Good luck with the rest of the cleaning Rob. You could buy a wireless reversing camera so little or no wiring needed. Yes i think a cheap stereo would finish the job nicely. Thanks again Rob and Chris for another great video. 👍👍
Great job Rob. Best stuff I find to tackle the yellowing on the plastics especially on my caravan is Autoglyms Caravan and motorhome cleaner, spray that on the yellow plastics and it just dissolves in front of you're eyes brilliant stuff👍
Hi Guy's,the Savage Wagon's looking sweet. I did my mates 4 berth bailey ranger with 3m perfect it fast cutting compound and it came up sweet as a nut took me a day and arf and 4 cutting pads but hell of a transformation.well done guy's keep up with the great work the both of you do.👍
Hey guys, good video guys, just wanted to say that I’ve just bought a new to me car, an Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon 2.0 Jtdm 59 plate. I used your discount code for car vertical and I’m well happy. The car came back clear and I got a 10% off. I have used cheaper full report services but Carvertical is the best I’ve used. Thanks guys
same as everyone else Rob I've tried that many different products nothing seems to last more than a couple of dry days, id hit the white with bleach, and Vaseline on all the plastics and rubber, I'm old school I keep going back to all the old practices cheap as well, all the best to you both still loving the channel, cheers
Keep the cab carpet as a template and get a replacement cut and trimmed to stop it fraying. Then a simple full length of carpet trimmed as well for the back. Hope you haven't damaged the van with the pressure washer, the seams can be less than robust. You need marigolds and a better step ladder but a very pleasing result.
Excellent job Rob, you have cleaned that up great as you always do. The vinyl floor, I would personally cut that one out and put a new modern vinyl floor in maybe a dark colour because putting a carpet in there would be like putting carpet in a bathroom if that makes sense, but great channel and you guys always do a great job on all the motors. Many thanks 😊
I don’t think the carpet would be suitable or practical as it would get very dirty when you’re out in the middle of nowhere stick some nice laminate flooring down there it’s pretty cheap easy to fit and it will cover up the lumps and bumps on the floor as well and easy to keep clean good work on the cleaning looks really nice
If you do an over carpet. Have it done in two pieces (or three with the cab) - that way you can remove the high traffic kitchen area one in winter for example and leave the lounge one down. Our caravan one is in three sections. You can just get a piece and make a rough template and have it wicked on the edges.
Stuck at home with covid ! You guys always cheer me up 🤓👍, that’s a cracking clean up 👍, some nice new flooring vinyl, more practical I think ? All you dog owners know what I mean 👍, defo chuck the cab one out 👍, cover the seats maybe ? And a cheap reverse camera head unit would really make a great selling feature 👍, Top Work 👍
I know I am late to the party, but I would have put down carpet over the linoleum - I'd use a tight weave and it would be the blue-ish color from the seats. Those seats are rad!!! Nice cleaning job - I want to try that cleaner on my old rig!
I got most of my UV'd caravan white again using Cara Clean. I'll take your advice and hit the badly yellowed bit with rubbing compound. Don't put carpet down. A buyer will either think it's hiding problems or knock you down as they don't like the colour choice, or they may just think carpet is impractical. Put down a neutral lino. It's not expensive or beyond your skills to fit.
Don't forget to reseal all the beading round the Motorhome, because believe me the damp will get in once used with a pressure washer. Absolutely love your channel
A very tidy motor home but of course a good few years old. I wouldn't spend a lot on the floor - anyone buying can easily see how to fix that to their own taste. I see your point about the front seats and some tidy covers might make the van look younger. If I bought the van the olnly upgrade I would make would be some solar on the roof.
Great Content on the Peugeot Motorhome Rob. Good valet on the roof and the exterior what a difference that’s made. first wash after so many years. Amazing work Rob. Keep it up.
Great video, the motor home is really good for the age of it. You could maybe get new mats for the front part & use the existing ones as a template. I would carpet the section with the seats/dining table & for the kitchen part maybe new bit of vinyl flooring. Looking forward to the next video on it.
Crackin’ update Rob - shows how care and attention really extends the life of a vehicle - agree with the ‘roll-over’ carpet for the back, suggest you dress the front cabin with G101 and a Rubber Gel (leave the ‘was once Red, now Pink’ mats) for the new Owner (hopefully me!, for my Dad!) to decide. Yellowing of the Exterior Cabin;- you could use a more aggressive cleaning agent, but for what you’ve transformed her into now I wouldn’t bother, but what a massive difference Keep ‘em comin’ and, as you say Rob, lookin’ forward, to the next one JCHK
Hi Rob before you polish the outside try thin bleach in a pump with water honestly it’s the way they clean most caravan and boats and does bring the white back. You have nothing to loose it will not harm the paint work.
I have an 06 plate Fiat Ducato Motorhome, and we see loads of these older style ones still on the road, well done!, great job!. Best wishes from Edinburgh.
Even quite old camper vans can be good value - its likely they do not have huge mileages on them and have well been looked after by the owners. I bought a used 1976 Leyland Sherpa 'tip roof' camper from a dealer in 1991 for £2500 (about £5000 in modern money) with about 50K on the clock. She was fairly basic but pretty reliable, though I made sure she was serviced properly. I used it as a daily driver for a few years in the 90s and I had very some nice holidays, including foreign trips in her. My parents even borrowed it for a trip as far as Bordeaux When I finally sold her, it was to a young local family without too much money, and I was told their kids adored their trips in it.
How about sheet vinyl flooring in the back in lieu of carpet? Looks smart and easy to clean. Obviously the condition of the subfloor will influence the final decision.
That camper looks like something perfect for the grey nomads. Old folks are generally very clean folk when it comes to their travelling vehicles so a very nice new carpet floor would absolutely make the inside of this van pop. I think the camper would sell a lot quicker with a nice carpet floor in it. Also... some nice fluffy comfy lambswool seat covers to cover up those horrible seats.. yeah... Great content guys. I have a better day when you post a vid.
Yes you are right i clean the roof of my m/home because if you do not the sides and front@back get streak down when it rains i think a carpet runner in the way to go as its easy to pull out and shake out when on site. Great job the clean .
Rob just caught up,another stunner but notice a very scary thing was when u were washing the mobile was when washing the mobile home the trailing socket power supply was immersed in water⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Another enjoyable half an hour chaps 👍 love the idea for a flip front stereo with reverse camera 😂 as for the floor, I’d just have rubber mats up front, and ditch the dodgy pink carpet 🤢 how about some Karndean for the main floor ? It’s a bit pricey, but really hard wearing. Just add it to the numbers, there’s somebody out there, gagging to but this camper for the summer 🤪
Don't worry about the obsessive detailers. Vehicles are meant to be used. They should be clean, but spending days on cleaning them means the owners are always worried about mud splashes or even going out in the rain.
Great job Rob & Chris looks beautiful now,I hope you dont mind can I tell a couple who own a VW camper they use in UK. They purchased a rv in America had 2 weeks it caught fire whilst driving completely destroyed so their plans have now been scuppered I've had this idea that if they were interested maybe working a deal out with you & Chris. They have got a go fund me & are waiting for insurance to pay them out they might have enough money to purchase that only if your selling it ,they would have to find out how much to ship it to America it is doable depends how much the shipping costs & it takes approx 6 weeks to get to America it would gave to be shipped on a flat rack. The couples names is Emma & Alex ( Travel beans ) .
Hello Rob and Chris, Pressure washing is so satisfying...😀 My camper van experience tell me to avoid a big fitted carpet,( soggy British Summers) and instead have some smart washable mats on the plastic floor. The cab floor looks better in the original finish A reversing camera is a must.. Cordialement,
You have added £1k to its value just by washing & cleaning it so well, Rob! Some light colour carpet & ideally new fabric on the seats/ all the cushions, but that might entail going over budget (but would really update the interior - plus you would get your money back!). Can't wait to see how this one turns out. Great work!
Looks like it's transformed. Great cleaning. Personally I wouldn't have carpet near kitchen area, but a runner that can come up world be ideal, maybe apple grey to compliment the seats, could put grey carpet at front cab area. Can't wait to see finished product.
Good job Rob, a bit of good quality rubber mat cut to the carpet template for the front & a new bit vinyl for the rear & you’re sorted on the inside. Spray lower front bumper job done! 👍
You are a wizard Rob!!! I'm sure this is a keeper for you guys. Cut a carpet, kettle it on the outsides with a good color and a weather mat in the cabin.
Looks alot better now. Would put new linoleum floor in as like said before caravan sites can be muddy so best to have a easy clean where possible. Would be tempted to find a retrimmer and recover all the seats to a gray or black loose the pink as that is dated. Try and change the small items that age it and you will be in for a winner.
Wow what a difference a clean makes & the products you used did a fantastic job & shifting the very tough grime looking extremely good now few more bits & this will look absolutely great brilliant content as always Rob & Chris 👍👍👍👍
LOL! Really enjoyed the way you kept saying the outside was completely clean despite leaving an absolute ton of dirt between the top of the rear window and the roof trim, no matter how often you walked by, jet-washed and filmed it! Great video though, love this particular project & its accompanying YT-videos.
This vid takes me back 10 years, The end result is always worth the effort involved, I used to use 50/50 G101 and a horse hair Upholstery brush then followed up with long handled brush Keep the vids coming guys always worth the wait 👍👍
Wow what a transformation, great job Rob i was really getting into it when it came to the end, could have watched a lot more of it make a great motorhome for somebody
Carpets are a great idea until you turn up at a muddy campsite. Its not too bad if you managed to put the awning out when the ground was dry so you can take the muddy boots off before you enter the vehicle
Well "Salvage Tours" it looks very good. Surprised you didn't have the awning out to check how clean it is and condition. When you have sorted the flooring it will look super inside. There is a indestructible, water proof, soft textured carpet for caravans, motorhomes etc...👍👍
I cleaned the roof of our motor home last week! 😂 I thought for a minute you were going to vacuum the inside with that 12v car vac!😂😂. This is going to make someone very happy when you sell it Rob 👍👍👍👍
I wouldn't do carpet! It would be better to use vinyl flooring and use the snap in click wood grain. Makes it look like wood floors. Plus easy cleaning . Also you use carpet runner or rubber one! Thats what I would do! Looks great so far 👍.
Rob, great job on the cleaning. If you're gonna polish the whole camper put some effort in those yellow grills at the side as well. Retro bright or hydroperoxide will make them white again. That technique is used with toys (lego) and older retro pcs to make them appear fresh again.
Excellent vid. These older van's do take a bit of cleaning but they are usually parked up for 7 months of the year. They are bound to get discoloured.. A Reversing camera is a very good idea.. As i said no fancy carpets in rear. Complete waste of time. Causes condensation and they stink after a while.👍
With regard to the floor, if it was mine I'd have a professional make up a complete carpet set the length of the camper to finish it off as well as acting as a bit of additional sound proofing. It's in such good condition you don't really want to spoil it with cheap looking lino or rubber matting IMO. It would however be a shoes off job on entering were it mine.
Guys I bought a motorhome last year. Took me 8 hours to clean just the roof. I do believe it hadn't see a clean for maybe 20 years. I agree Rob looks 10 years younger " the motorhome Not Rob " and very very smart. Amazing transformation.
For the floor keep it vinyl from the side door to the seating area then a nice shiny trim with some matching carpet front and back practicality with some comfort.
Hi from durham guys👋👍 rob what a fantistic clean I loved it I always love a good pressure washing and great to do halfie half shot at from it looked it was part of the design 😂😂 but inside I would defo do the reverse camera setup head unit kinda bring cockpit up to date a bit and aid more of a criteria when selling 👌 as for a carpet neutral colour be good but not fixed so can be removed by new owner if needs cleaning and you should of pressure washed cockpit carpet👍 great episode 👌 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon👍👋
Even though it was filthy, it didn't look too bad to me till you did the half and half wash! I think a bit of carpet in the back will spruce it up no end. Plus it'll make it a touch warmer at night and cut down a little on road noise.
Have you considered peroxide on the yellow and leaving it in the sun for a few hours? You probably need to mask the stickers but might be worth a try as it's how old white plastic BMX parts that have yellowed are restored to a better white. Not sure if it'd do the same for the paint on the caravan but it's an idea.
I say get a nice bit of dark carpet made up and trimmed for the cab area, but stick with vinyl flooring in the back - much more practical for your wet British campsites.
Hi Rob Great video as always. Would recommend Crusader Carpets for new set of carpets with bound edges. You provide a template and they do the rest. They did a great job with my campervan and it would finish off the hard work that you have already put into Motorhome. Cheers.
Fantastic valeting job on the motor rob 👏 looks a hell of a lot different i would still go for the vinyl in the kitchen area and some nice 👌 new carpet for the cab. Would go for your idea with the radio with the flip up screen for the reverse camera. Looking for to the end result.
Our motorhome had in ground grime. Used 'pink stuff' in a tub from b&m. Bought it up a treat. Took sometime but the old man done it in 2 weekends. He was besotted 😂
No carpet! Cover chairs with updated fabric! New flooring. Vinyl flooring can stand up to anything! Would be nice to have the outside white! You guys r great. Hi from Newfoundland Canada🇨🇦🌺🇨🇦🌺
I used click clack flooring, bathroom/kitchen quality, to revamp the interior of a caravan. Cheaper and more resistant than carpet. Three boxes should do it.
looking much better now cleaned guys, seems like its just the two sides that are a bit yellow. recon it needs some good fitted seat covers in the front for sure, the back ones are a bit dated to. It would look better with some proper carpet for camper vans on that old flooring , cant believe the prices you guys get these cars for.

Many thanks for the discount 👍. I was in need of something like this as my caravan roof is in a bit of a state, so giving this product a try!
@@martinsang6778 make sure you follow the instructions as it’s strong stuff 👌👍
Jennychem are really helpful they will look after you, much better than you know who
Rob is going to end up keeping this one so can not wait to see the finished result! I used to do this for a living on caravans, get some over matts made from a template and get the edges whipped, looks like you need a new TV Ariel on the roof, just be careful its not letting any water in
Hi both,
My first job was getting hold of motorcaravans and prepping them for sale.
You are quite correct never to use a pressure washer because the seams on vehicles of that age shrink over time and you get water ingress - an initial clean with a garden hose & soft brush & appropriate cleaning products is best - TIP; the best way to maintain the outside (every two months if not using a cover) is to use the services of a waterfed pole window cleaner who uses purified water (reverse osmosis) with a soft brush,
I'm a caravan owner. Agree with your comment re pressure washer on caravans.
I agree, the van now needs a damp test and a reseal where needed, ive seen the damage that can be done with pressure washers
Great Job cleaning it up, but jetwasher on those seals not great. Could cause longterm issues.
lol 😂. I knew this would come up . Ignore the tuggers 😂. Fine to use a pressure washer on a motorhome but you need to seriously avoid the sealed areas and joints. You can’t clean the roof properly any other way but you MUST avoid blasting the sikaflex around roof windows .
Can’t believe I’m having a beer watching a guy cleaning a caravan and enjoying it.
Great content as always.
@@matty6848 Interesting. Would never have thought that.
That's why you do a soft wash.
@@trainmanbob : Could have given it a better sales pitch than that 😂 You might have got rid of it...
@@trainmanbob one what?
Hello Rob,nice clean on this motorhome, the cleaner worked wonders, even the yellow stain in the paint has gone.amazing results!!
Best flooring for the rear of the motorhome would be some non slip wood effect vinyl, don't forget in that area you've got the kitchen and bathroom area so carpet would be a no go
Definitely the way forward for the floor. Buff off the yellow outside and some modern graphics would make this look half its age
Love seeing an old motor being bought black to life with a good old clean. It really does give you a sense of achievement 👏
There is a lot of hard graft there Rob but its going to pay off for you. Completely agree with you about jennychem - absolutely brilliant customer service and products for making all vehicles safe to use, clean and look their best.
Carpet Rob defo.
One thing Rob don't balance on
steps like that, might not seem very high but if you come off
especially with water flying about.Get a platform or part of
a scaffold tower on locking wheels.
be great to see you clean up a vintage caravan ,really enjoyed that the motorhome looks fab xx
Nice job Rob! Beginning to look great. You're a braver man than me climbing up that stepladder!!
What a difference! Something so satisfying about cleaning a vehicle that has been neglected.
Yeah, shouldn't use a pressure washer on caravan or camper, it lifts the sealant out of the many joints.
Looks amazing, great job 👍 be careful on those ladders, consider getting an access platform.
Chris could get his cherry picker out
You could also consider growing some balls and just getting on with it! ;-)
Yellowing of the Exterior Cabin;- you could use a more aggressive cleaning agent, but for what you’ve transformed her into now I wouldn’t bother, but what a massive difference
Keep ‘em comin’ and, as you say Rob, lookin’ forward, to the next one
JCHK
Hi Rob before you polish the outside try thin bleach in a pump with water honestly it’s the way they clean most caravan and boats and does bring the white back. You have nothing to loose it will not harm the paint work.
I have an 06 plate Fiat Ducato Motorhome, and we see loads of these older style ones still on the road, well done!, great job!.
Best wishes from Edinburgh.
Thanks Rob, I just ordered a bottle of the caravan wash, great price too 👌
Floor layer could lay some new vinyl flooring inside easily enough and I'd consider a couple of seat covers.
Great Video! Reupholster the seats, change the mats to match, and roll of carpet too? Sorry, I don't know the correct English terms.
Hello Rob and Chris,
Pressure washing is so satisfying...😀
My camper van experience tell me to avoid a big fitted carpet,( soggy British Summers) and instead have some smart washable mats on the plastic floor.
The cab floor looks better in the original finish
A reversing camera is a must..
Hi Rob and Chris very satisfying video what a difference very good profit in store for this one good luck cheers.
Coming along very nicely boys ,what a difference with a power wash and heavy clean inside 👍
I would change all the internal bulbs for modern Led's. A cheap job that will brighten up the interior and help the leisure battery go further.
LOL! Really enjoyed the way you kept saying the outside was completely clean despite leaving an absolute ton of dirt between the top of the rear window and the roof trim, no matter how often you walked by, jet-washed and filmed it! Great video though, love this particular project & its accompanying YT-videos.
This vid takes me back 10 years, The end result is always worth the effort involved, I used to use 50/50 G101 and a horse hair Upholstery brush then followed up with long handled brush
Keep the vids coming guys always worth the wait 👍👍
G101 originally called g8 50 the green stuff would remove tobacco stains of headlining like nothing else
Our motorhome has sections of carpet that are held down with poppers, so you can clean it in sections or leave some areas without carpet all together
Temporary though, it'll quickly go more yellow and much more brittle than it was before.
