Love your excitement and enthusiasm! Your channel will keep growing fast I'm sure!
Aw thank you!!
The triumph is so much cooler looking than the mgb. You definitely got the right car
Hey Saige, awesome car and channel! Im 18, and building a 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible car. Quite the opposite of a small, nimble sports car at 4400 pounds lol. But im glad to see someone else with a similar passion for these classics at my age. Ironically too im just across the river in the Rochester Michigan area. Im now staying updated on the build and have subscribed!
Just saw a Pontiac GP convertible in the Walmart parking lot here in L-Burg. No idea as to the year...
Hey there! Thats so awesome and exciting, I feel the same way about seeing young people getting into older cars. I hope everything goes with your build!
@@MrWaalkmanI haven't seen a lot around here that's for sure, not as sought after as the GTO's, but much more affordable. If it was a ragtop for sure, its the same year as mine, 67 was the only year they made convertible GP's
@@thatmichiganderman I've owned six convertibles if you count the '48 CJ2A. So I should know. :) And it was pretty. The top was a bit soft, but otherwise in great shape. Have fun with it!
Hey Saige, new to your channel. You are doing great. I was the same, obsessed with old cars, especially British cars, and even more specifically minis. I’ve owned two now over the years. I’ll be watching your channel.
That’s very cool, thanks for the support!
Hi Saige. Another great video. I understand your passion for older cars, they have character unlike the "jelly mold" shape of modern cars. My first car back in 1967 was a 1951 MG saloon series y. I paid 15 UK pounds for it! When Carol and I got married in 1978 we then had a 1951 Riley RMB. We spent our honeymoon touring the lake District in the Riley. Wish I still had those 2 cars. My dream car would be an MG T type made from 1936 to 1955, but very happy with my spitfire! Love your videos. You are very talented and have so much enthusiasm. I am sure you have a great future in acting or broadcasting etc. I look forward to your next video and hope your Spitfire repair is progressing. Cheers for now, Steve
I just looked up all those cars and WOW they are so stunning and elegant, how did you manage to get the MG saloon series y for 15 pounds??
@@saigesgarage it was 1967 and the average weekly wage was only 19 UK pounds! Today the average is about 600 UK pounds, approx 1015 Canadian Dollars. The MG was 15 years old and had a fault with the gearbox. It would occasionally get stuck in a gear so I had to pull hard on the gear lever (stick shift) to change gear! It had a hydraulic jacking system that was operated by a hand pump on the bulkhead engine side. Either the 2 front jacks or the 2 rear jacks could be selected or all 4. It had an opening roof section and opening windscreens as well as a rear window blind that was used to stop the dazzle of the lights of a car behind. Happy memories 😀
@@Steve-in-the-uk wow that’s so crazy to hear! I love learning about the history of things :)
Thanks for taking the time to tell us a bit about yourself. As I've mentioned before in the comments, I too began with a Triumph Spitfire. Decades later a Honda S2000 serves as my roadster of choice, but as a car guy I remain fascinated by all sorts of different cars and by classics in particular (including British sports cars of course). These days the cars that I admire/appreciate the most are those that have a long history of use with their owners. I am much more impressed by a well kept, higher-mileage car than I am by a pristine low-mileage car bought primarily for investment purposes. I really look forward to seeing your Spitfire running once again. Keep dreaming - and making those dreams come true!
That’s so true it’s much more beautiful if someone has kept an older car in good condition for many years because it means they put lots of love into it :)
Your British accent was pretty good! A quite posh sound with just a hint of a southerner London accent!
Haha thank you!!
I've always thought the MGs are so much more 'agricultural' looking compared to the styling of the Triumph equivalents. Defo made the right choice Saige! (Got your name badge sewn on yet?!)
Countach is absolutely my fave too!!
Thanks I absolutely love it :) I haven’t gotten to the badge yet but hopefully in the next few months!
Wow you have done a lot for your young life. Keep it up you are uplifting and super happy which I’m sure makes all of us watching happy too. You have a full life of wishes and dreams to come.
Thank you so much Frank!
I would rather push an MGB than drive a Triumph! Or so the t-shirt saying goes! 😆Truthfully I would love a triumph if I came across one to buy.
I had never really seen any British cars when I was younger but when it was time for me to start college, a scholarship allowed me to get a car for my commute, and a green 78 B was it... and I still have it 35 years later... along with 2 others... and a Miata. The disease is real!
Haha! That’s super cool I’m glad to hear you still have it :)
Great video! As someone who had a British girlfriend and hung out with an all British crowd while stationed in Spain, I can say your British accent is great! I’m hoping that my daughter will be interested in an LBC when she starts driving in a few years, but so far she has not expressed any interest in participating in her brothers and my channel working on them. She’s still got a few years to go though, so there’s always hope! Keep up the great work!
Haha thanks! And fingers crossed about your daughter :)
Good story! Glad to see someone younger than 60 into classic cars👍check out Lancia Appia if you like cute little cars😁
I just checked it out, that one is awesome too!!
Living the dream 🦔 brilliant 🚙
Haha thanks! 🦔
Saige I have the same car you do. My dream car is the TR-2 what do you think?
Those are beautiful! I love how unique they are :)
Your British Accent is cute! If you want to take it to the next level, study Cockney Rhyming Slang and then you can go apples and pears and have a good old rabbit and pork!
Haha good idea!
12:47 Interesting pronunciation. Sounds like a vampire. It's actually Lamborghini (coon-tawsh) or (coon-tash).
most Brit's call it a count-ash :)
@@domweaver3488 I didn't know that, but it's hilarious because I've never heard of an entire nation pronouncing a name wrong.
Haha kinda of like the word aluminum!
You sound British to me! But I’m from North Carolina. Lol. We used to go to Ipperwash beach and visit relatives in London each summer.
Haha thanks!
I own a Countach, you have good taste! 🙂 Keep dreaming, I did! But don't forget to realise them. ;-)
Oh wow that’s amazing I hope to say the same one day!!
on your overalks on previous videos. ut gsd tracy on them ?
My aunt Tracy gave them to me! I still need to make my own patch :)
😂😂😂 decent British accent ngl
Keep using the word British…. saying UK is a new obsession that is a bit bland and mostly due to Scotland and Wales pushing more for national identity. The idea of a specific ‘British’ accent is sort of a North American concept but I know what you mean, yours is great…
Ok that’s good to know thanks!
