If youd like to take a try and fixing it, you could get a plastic weld kit for 20 bucks and some plastic epoxy mix and fix the crack to make it water tight again and another 20 dollar headlight polish kit with a few youtube videos for help and youd have a new perfectly fine set of head lights for cheap. Working on cars a plastic weld kit will come in very handy, and I think youd enjoy the process and practice or fixing it yourself. Ive done both the plastic weld and polish and its not hard or time consuming and yields great results!
Saige you both are so lucky. Zipping across the 401 and picking up that light and then merging back onto the highway is so so SO dangerous. I was freaking out watching. But, your Dad made a good call and managed to pull that stunt off, but OMG, it’s so dangerous. .And the fact that the light survived all that and it still works is a miracle! In fact, that “bright light” that blinded you must have been an Angel look over you and made sure you were OK. What a crazy story!! So happy that ‘both’ of you are OK. ❤
Was the headlight still on when you found it?!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂 Love the way you think animals are so special. We do too. We have 2 rescue dogs . Cheers, Steve 😀
Now , that's a Canadian story ... Very cute presentation , don't believe you lived ... Saige and dad conquer the 401... Dads driving and headlight snatch was EPIC ...
Glad you’re ok but you should really try to move past your phobia of hurting or seeing an injured animal on the road. It’s going to happen. If you try to swerve to miss an animal you pose more of a risk on the road to yourself and to other drivers as you can hit them.

Get yourself some super fine polishing compound and buff the lights. That will take the clouds away and you will see better.
I'm pleased I watched until the end. You and your lamp are lucky.

Don’t buy a “new” light assembly (big money). Instead go to an auto recycle yard and get a used one.
So very Happy you handled the perfectly
