After watching the whole series again, i can say that all this happened: -Grim shipped them from episode 1, and at least twice more after that, all that on this video. -Most of the episodes involves Mandy following Billy around whiout getting anything in return(not always but most of the time). -Another large chunk of the episodes is Mandy actually trying to help or protect Billy. -Even in her worm, unhuman form, Mandy has showed that she cant live whiout Billy. -Mandy tends to almost always use the plural or "us" when she is with Billy, putting him at the same level as her when she talks, you just dont that with servants. -Mandy dressed AS A CLOWN to help Billy with his fear. -Billy is the one person in the world that can make Mandy show human feelings: *He made her feel bad for wanting to turn him over for the money in the sasquash episode and actually caused her to abandon her plan and to fiercely defend him from hoss. *In the episode where Gladys becomes young again, Mandy does not recognises her, and becomes very possesive and jeolus, and she starts compiting with Gladys for Billy. *Mandy once again becomes very jeolus on the Blandy episode, putting a very worried face when she hears that Billy is in-love with a girl. *In the Super Zero episode it is clear that Mandy actually missed him after he was a away for a short while, altrought she denied it. *Billy is the one person that caused Mandy to actually tear up and almost cry when she belived he was dead. -Billy got to kiss Mandy whiout Mandy doing anything about it, and she really got a chance to do it in the next day. -Mandy allowed Billy to have physical contact with her in several episodes, by just allowing it or barely do something about it. Irwin generally fares a lot worse by just talking to her. -Mandy never said "no" when someone brought up about she and Billy to be actually in-love, what is a weird thing to do when you arent in-love with someone. This happened several times. -Billy actually proposed to her in one episode and lived, and he even mentioned "it is time for two people who love each other..." when he was doing it. Mandy never said "no" to any of this, in fact she only got pissed when she realised Billy wanted to do that only for her to take care of Jeff. -Mandy that always said that "love is stupid" took it upon herself to bring down the Valentine dance at the school saying "if i cant enjoy it, no one can", but it just so happens that Billy invited another girl for that dance, what a coincidence. -The writers teased about this possible ship a few times, the trial when the judge tried to marry them by mistake and Billy petty much accepted right away is just one example. -In the episode were Billy got his kite stuck on a tree Billy and Mandy actually got to hold hands for a short while. -Billy, when he wants, he can stand up to Mandy or be like her in several aspects. But he mostly just enjoys being around Mandy. There is more but ill leave there. After watching again i can definately see why i shipped them as a kid, and now im more sure than ever. In short, this is a very strong friendship and they deeply care for each other, and Mandy sometimes cant hide it. As i see it you just need a spark to ignite the fire and that to become something more, and in part due to their age, it is likely that neither Billy or Mandy realises what is going on.

I think Mandy likes Billy because he's the only person who genuinely considers her a friend and not a freak. Even in the pilot they seem familiar with each other, I think Billy was the first person to approach her without opinions and that probably stuck with her.

I think she has schizophrenia. In the 1st season, Harold teases her by saying “Did someone forget their medicine?” Or when she came back and said something about her episode. I don’t think she was breaking 4th wall. You know how people can go through episodes? I think it’s like that. And she doesn’t show any signs of sociopathy. She still loves Billy and Harold... just can be the craziest woman you’ve ever met without her medications. I think that’s why she’s the ONLY character in the whole show with some power over Mandy.

I think Mandy likes Billy because he's the only person who genuinely considers her a friend and not a freak. Even in the pilot they seem familiar with each other, I think Billy was the first person to approach her without opinions and that probably stuck with her.
He is the first person to approach her. In one episode, it showed Billy as a Baby going to Baby Mandy. Billy does something silly, Mandy isn't having it, knocked some sense into him and that's how they became friends
