ahh IT LOOKS SO GOOD! you've inspired me to redo mine for better workflow. i can't afford to buy anything for my office, but a weekend spent decluttering, deep cleaning and moving furniture around the house so things actually made sense has made SUCH an amazing difference already! so much so that i actually enjoy logging into work every morning now!
During back to school time many stores (target) has these little plastic bins kinda look like a child’s kitchen version of a restaurant bus boy bin. They fit almost perfectly in the shelves of those metal craft carts and it makes it so much nicer to organize and access. You can just pull them out to go through your pens or tapes.

My office needs a lot of work 😆😆 I want a sit/stand desk and better organizers. I've realized I need clear, acrylic storage so I've been searching and buying ones as I find them. The desk search will be for future me LOL I'm planning an office declutter, makeover for later this year!

You made it! I hate those floor mats, I got a new set of wheels for my chair, the price was about 25€ (~$25) and they are made out of a rubber material, just like the wheels of rollerblaids and are really soft to our vinyl floors, super quiet and look nice tot (different colors available). One of my best buys ever, and I don't understand why they still put those cheep plastic rolls even on expensive office chairs. I haven't tried them on carpet, but I think it should be doing fine if the normal wheels work as well!
My plan for all my washi is to store them in nice containers in my closet and then make a binder with strips of the washi on probably card stock, maybe typing paper. I want to then divide them into sections like different holidays, color, sparkly, etc.. Then I will denote on each page which storage container the washi is in. It's a work in progress. I really like your new office space.
I like that idea. I was thinking of treating the washi tape rolls like I do scrapbooking ribbon and hang them on a dowel. I’m *hoping* it will be a functional display piece. LOL

I told my wife, "look at all the UNUSED journal and all the DIFFERENT COLOR washii and markers. That's what my area is supposed to look like." She just rolled her eyes. Lol she didn't believe me when I said you don't just get one color marker and one journal you're currently working in and that's it.🤣🤣🤣
Oh my, I love this videos. Reorganizing a room is tedious indeed. I find it hard to see where something should go, so I take a long while to decide and many changes to finally put everything where I feel is a good place. Getting rid of things you don't use anymore is also hard. Your office is looking great now! And I get that about the acrylographs being "too far". For your mind it's like taking too many steps when you need something quick, so you take the easy route of using something else instead. That's why I like to leave the things I don't want to forget in a place of easy access/where I always see it. ps: tell Vogel he is amazing ❤

I absolutely love how your office turned out! So clean and uniform looking. My space serves 3 purposes: work office (I work from home), music studio and art studio. Book shelves, drawer systems and wood room dividers are my godsend for keeping these organized. I ended up labeling my drawer systems so I can more easily remember where I put things, and also kinds of forces me to put things back in their designated spots.
I'm hoping to label mine at some point, yeah! I just need to be more settled on what is going in which drawers (want "proven" success with them, haha 😂)
@@JashiiCorrin make sure whatever you use to label the drawers with can be peeled off and cleaned up semi-easily for the eventual day that it needs re-arranging. I use the old-school mechanical style label maker (the dial type). It fits my (really) old-school style office decor. 😂 Temporarily, if you have some writable Washi tape, that will work short term and also have the benefit to prove out how you want to actually label the drawers.
Vogel is a sweetheart! I love your process and how you planned. I also redid my craft office, and can so relate. Your washi collection is awesome! Can't wait for the destash vid.

I really like how the room ended up. I was thinking that the L shaped desk would work better set into the corner, but actually like the peninsula effect you got in the end. I hope this will work for you in the end. However I was wondering how much money you spent on the entire office remake.

my partner and I recently put together a new bed because we upgraded in size and also a new nightstand because I just didn't have one and I totally feel you on having too many extra pieces at the end, it's like oh no what if I've missed something crucial and it's all going to fall apart?
The clear drawers for the acrilograph pens are really cool. Could you get a couple more to stack on top to use that extra space and then split out larger quantities (ie green) into light and dark drawers? You could match the order of the drawers to the journal rainbow on the other side of the room.
Looks great! My home dream is tiny house with "she shed" for art/office. Right now I could technically turn my spare room into an office, but I like keeping it a guest space. Maybe I'll do a murphy bed and do both. My current home office is in the main living area in its own corner. It's ok but man I am so sick of working from home,, so I dread going near it now lol
That’s fair 👏 one of my real challenges was balancing having my office be a productive space, but also feel like a space that I could be creative in 💜 because I now work from home I don’t want it to be too much one way or the other 😝

Loving your PC's wallpaper, is that custom, or downloadable? We have plenty of Kmarts here in Australia, I'll keep a look out for those drawers as I have recently got some acrylographs & they are upright due to storage restrictions at the moment, I'll move them to horizontal now that I know they sleep sideways. thanks so much :)

Depends on what it is; some get donated, some get sold, some get binned 😊 my last washi declutter had all the tapes go to a family that lives up the road from me 💪

Love the result!! And regarding the beautiful rainbow, wouldnt it make a big difference to put the brown leather one all the way second left (next to the burgundy/purple) as they look similar and then there is not one dark journal standing out in the beige/yellows.
That one is more of a burnt orange linen in person 😅 I think it’s one of those situations where I set the general colour order in stages as I got more journals, and the original transitions don’t really fit for the new journals. Might just need me to pull everything off the desk and start again
I've tried various search terms for Kmart (and such) to find the acrylic drawers, the only Q is do they fit Tombow duals well? IKEA is a little to expensive and my cheapy shops leave much to be desired, I just may have to continue to be patient. Is OfficeMax equiv to AU's Officeworks? My brother lives 2 hour drive from Hamilton.

I got clear acrylic Sunglass holder 3 drawer units. Stacked them and color coded the washi. I can reach them all from working desk.

Love this video. What a transformation, Jess. Any chance you could guide me in the direction of your camera rig. I film my reading journal videos with my canon camera and the tripod I'm using isn't great, haha! Since we're both in NZ, I wondered if you ordered from NZ or overseas for the rig?

Depends on what it is; some get donated, some get sold, some get binned 😊 my last washi declutter had all the tapes go to a family that lives up the road from me 💪

Love the result!! And regarding the beautiful rainbow, wouldnt it make a big difference to put the brown leather one all the way second left (next to the burgundy/purple) as they look similar and then there is not one dark journal standing out in the beige/yellows.
That one is more of a burnt orange linen in person 😅 I think it’s one of those situations where I set the general colour order in stages as I got more journals, and the original transitions don’t really fit for the new journals. Might just need me to pull everything off the desk and start again

Expandable small curtain rods for the tape
I’m surprised I never see a spice rack or towel bar type thing full of rainbow sorted tape. Just hung on the wall and out so it can be seen.
I've tried various search terms for Kmart (and such) to find the acrylic drawers, the only Q is do they fit Tombow duals well?
IKEA is a little to expensive and my cheapy shops leave much to be desired, I just may have to continue to be patient.
