Pc used to take 5+ minutes to shutdown now it's done in just 5-10 seconds.i am Using m.2 nvme.

the reason why my pc was slow is im guessing because i had that setting set to 1. set it to 0 you also gon be thankful

Great, worked perfectly! I was about to reinstall / repair windows 10 as the reboot time was taking a fair while- about 95 seconds, even on my m.2 drive. I seem to be rather impatient with tech haha!

But some programs or windows update requires to RESTART to apply, so it was the worst

It's related with HDD/SSD. We are just disabling the task to clear page file (virtual memeory) as it increases the time to shutdown and by default this service is disabled in windows

I have 2 nvme's(one as boot drive) and 2 ssd's (no moving part except for fans in my laptop) and my laptop still shut's down slowly...no slowing in booting up but only when closing/shutting down is slow...i had reset my OS so is not that loaded with apps/programs( i only have 5 start up enabled programs which they are essential)...i also had this tweak...Don't understand why windows shuts down slower than it boots when it should be the other way...does anyone found the same thing?...BTW...i have lots of things disabled in windows settings...
After just installing fresh windows, have you tried to reboot? If it was a slow shutdown without installing any third party apps then it would mean some strange matter else if not then some third party program might be causing the issue. Make you you pause windows update and delete software distribution folder. Also try disabling Sysmain service from services. Also one more thing you can do is to boot in safe mode and try to reboot. If still same then probably BIOS or unknown problem if fixed then it means a service/program is causing the issue
@@tech-info It was a clean windows instalation because i had my previous windows 10 on an SSD(2.5inch) and cloning the SSD to NVME didn't give me a satisfactory solve...hence i installed fresh windows on NVME..
Like i said...i only have the neaded programs that i had on my other windows(they are less now than before previous windows)...latest bios, didn't disable sysmain because it didn't give me any problems and i had it enabled on the other windows as well...my system right now uses 10gb(chrome tabs takes this space of ram and only 2-4%cpu(in idle)...so is not the superfetch...i even disabled the NoGuiBoot to see if that improves...still nothing...it booots up in like 7-10 seconds...but it shuts down in 20-30 seconds...it might be normal...but to me it doesn't feel normal...on my previous windows starting and clossing the windows were in almost the same amount of time...if back the the startup was in 15-20 seconds, the shut down was 20-25(never measured both but the startup)
@@danwithjesus Maybe its normal. Have you made partitions on NVME like different local disks? If yes then nothing to worry, it might be also a cause but if the delay does not bother you, do not stress up
@@tech-info All my drives got their own partition...and yes it bothers me a bit...hence why i wrote my problem...because previous version of windows(it was on 240gb nvme) i had moving parts(DVD and a HD)..i expected my windows to be more responsive in startup's and shut down's by eliminating the moving parts...o well..i guess is a windows thing...and not a hardware problem...Thank you for your answers..

We cannot do much to boost booting time [although try updating NVME drivers, disable start-up app, most imp -> create single partition (only C: drive) ]. This tutorial is for reducing shut down time.

@@GoreFqn Registry is almost the same for every computer. You can do this setting , if the registry value is not present, you can create it. It's freedom here. Plus, we are not disabling fast boot here.

Something different causing problem in your case. You can restore the entire registry to it's default. Also, if you have HDD, better switch to SSD.
