This style of humour is funny because of its absurdity, the idea of a person in the middle of a normal setting all of the sudden "cumming" and then politely excusing themselves is completely rediculous, which is exactly why its funny. I think this style of British humour Americans find hard to understand as few if any of their comedians or sitcoms utilise it (Seinfield being the exception, that show was brilliant).
The thought of someone genuinely believing that a sketch show based solely around catchphrases, with this on being "I've just cum", is deeply sophisticated is extremely funny.
Monty Python is the basis FOR ALL MODERN humour, fast show is funny though is it has some really random stuff on it. A few people commenting here obvioudly like tallentless USA slapstick shite comedy and cant appriciate this stuff.
+Fart (I can't find the name in the list, I know) "The Fast Show was extremely funny. There are those whose sense of humor lacks sophistication and they don't find it funny." By sophisticated you mean immature? Then yes, correct... Nice name too, I bet you laugh when someone passes gas too, wouldn't surprise me to say the least. "sophisticate"? More like "primitive".
Oscy Actually I was willing to give the videos a chance and proceeded to the next video, but I guess you are too willing to jump to conclusions rather than think things out more thoroughly, or maybe your brain doesn't have the required specifications to do so. "The height of intellectulism and sophistication, you are." (Couldn't even spell "intellectualism" correctly...) I sense your need to compensate for your inadequates in this one, no need to take it out on others, I feel that you'd be better off going to a Therapist to help you out with that, good luck.
Oscy "I bet it's pseudo-intellectual keyboard warrior shtick." Here we go again with the jumping to conclusions, you keep showing that you are too inept at thinking things out more thoroughly and only assume the worst of the other person without actually taking time to read their argument, aren't you bright?
Oscy You are obviously not worth arguing with, good day, come back to me when you've collected some brain cells and actually have an argument. (I made multiple parts so it's easy to read for you).
"I don't like this thing, and you're dumb for liking it" why did you decide to comment on both of these videos, are you trying to change people's opinions on The Fast Show? You previously said "I was willing to give the videos a chance and proceeded to the next video", but there is absolutely no prerequisite to comment one every single video you watch. If you didn't like either, why did you feel the need to go back and comment on both? Conversely, if you watched the first video, commented and then moved onto the second, you obviously weren't willing to give the videos a chance. Please take your head out of your own arse and take your oh-so-superior taste elsewhere if this isn't to your liking, rather than lingering like a foul smell.
Every day, for 16 years, I've returned to this comment, wondering if I should break it to you. Now is the day: the guys behind this show (including Higson in this clip) co-wrote and starred in Enfield's shows.
@IceTruckKiIIer The Fast Show ISN'T British comedy genius, so shoot me. Never found it funny, even as a child. I recall being at school & cringing when I heard others say: "ooh, suits you sir" & other catchphrases. I found it's a good way of sorting the wheat from the chaff. These same type of people would go on to use these catchphrases in the office at work. And watch Little Britain. The sort of people who might display a sign saying: "You don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps".
@0:17 Woman in the background, getting a nick fork full of air. Delicious.
It's called British Humour, and it's not rubbish.

“I do beg your pardon, I’ve just cum again.”
British humor in a nutshell.
Best type
The Fast Show was extremely funny. There are those whose sense of humor lacks sophistication and they don't find it funny.
Oh, fuck off. Comedy's subjective. That's all there is to it.
The thought of someone genuinely believing that a sketch show based solely around catchphrases, with this on being "I've just cum", is deeply sophisticated is extremely funny.
Christ imagine this on tv today

Hey, at least he was honest!
Press 4 then 5 on your keyboard whilst you watch the video.
I never understood this back in the day.

Erm... not quite. Monty Python was inspired by The Goon Show (BBC radio, 1950s). Love em both.
Perhaps it's classed as humour as no one had done it before??!!
strange humor...
The fact you spelled (or even spelt) humour without a 'u' would suggest you are not British. That would explain why you don't 'get' it.
Boo hoo. Me come from England.

Oscy "Yes I'm totally going to read all that."
If you don't read you have nothing within the realm of credibility to counter with.

This is not british humour. British humour's the carry ons, the only fools, blackadder, harry enfield and chums. Not this bullocks.
Yet here you are watching it.

Chill, man. It is an opinion, but there is no need to have so much vitriol!
I think this is so wrong, the fast show was a cult and enjoyed by....no, sorry I was going to debate you but I've just cum
Little Britain was great too, just because you don’t get it or think you’re too edgy to find it funny. Grow up.
Yet here you are watching it.
Colin Hunt
if u want proper 'random' humour that is 100% british watch Monty Python's flying circus. bloody brilliant. this is not funny i'm sorry
Yet here you are watching it.
