  • Jamie Mallender demonstrates the Vintage® ICON V4MRFR.
The Vintage V4MRFR ICON bass replicates the beautiful, worn-in look and feel of an instrument that exhibits a lifetime's worth of woodshedding, rehearsing and performing, straight out of the box. Good things come to those who wait - but who has the time for that?
Featuring a Wilkinson WOBP pickup, compensated brass saddle bridge and improved upper fret access, the Vintage V4MRFR is true player’s instrument that’s ready to turn its hand to any number of musical styles.

I will never part with mine, even though I will shortly have a 50s reissue Fender for shows. I have never played such a great low price P bass. It is just outstanding and I love it. Use it live every week, and one of my go-to guitars. Squiers have got good now, but they can't touch this bass sonically. Stock pickup is really good too. No need to upgrade

after adjusting everything on mine it actually plays quite well, I like medium action myself but thats all you are going to get out of these, but for how much you can get them for not bad at all, the the clear coat on mine is like a bowling ball, I love that about it haha

I've done a lot of research on Vintage brand basses over the last few years. All the hardware (machine heads, bridges, everything etc) and pickups are WILKINSON which sound incredible. Ntm a fraction of what you'd pay for the all mighty S.D. 1/4 Pounder or any of other better known pickup and or brand. These basses are beautifully crafted and have the 1970s feel and look to them. If given the choice between any Fender Precision bass (outside of the Fender custom shop basses which run you a good 5500.00 at least) I would choose the Vintage V4 over any Fender P Bass made in the last 15 years. Also keep in mind standard price for this bass is 475-500. Which is less than you'd pay for a squire that doesn't have near the quality nor sound.

I have this bass; it is a good bass for its price but it is heavy!!!!! In the technical specifications it says that it has an alder body, evidently the alder trees they use, water them with lead-based water! 🤣

How heavy? Can you weigh it?

I found a website that states the bass is 4,6kg. My Warrior Precision Bass is 3,7kg but it could be lighter for my taste.

@@dunkelwelpling 4.6 kg is about an average weight for a bass guitar. But I’ve played quite a few of these and they never seem very heavy
