You know That This game is good once you realize it uses William Tell Overture for the whole game XD But still.....come on,the Original Fire Leo gets no love!
The Sharp X1 version's smoothness is dependant on the emulator as is most PC-88 stuff, but the colours are indeed better and there's no annoying horserace music. In addition, at the beginning you hear someone scream "THUNDER FORCE" in awful quality. I tweaked things and found the X1 version about just as difficult as this one but nice and smooth, but this version has the title picture and freaky beginning visual trick I would've loved to see in the X1 version.
I played this on an emulator and thought "WTF" Just like the original Street Fighter I try to put it through my head that it either doesn't exist or is a bastard child of the series.. Play II through VI instead!
Ok someone told me "Horse-Race Force"... I was like, lolwtf? But..... well it IS a start, I guess? I mean, 1983, that's before I was even born. I was born the same year Thunderforce 2 was out: 1988. :) The voiceover of the title is kind of cute though, and LOL at that start of the match here! X'D
There is no ending. It continues infinitely till you run out of lives, then gives you your score. All while the single music track plays on repeat till it is ingraved into your very existence.
That's some epic music. ThunderForce IV eat your heart out! haha
i still cant fucking believe this evolved into what it is today
Another case where the sequel DESTROYS its predecessor
Nobody says anything about Thunder Force (1)
Now i know why
Thunder Force 2 was a HUGE step up from this game
It's like they followed the street fighter formula. where it started off not so good but then BAM! so much improvement in the sequels.
+Genesis Does What Nintendoes!!! You'd never know how badass the series would become from this. :)

I kinda regret I tried to find this one just for curiosity, now I can't think this series without relating to horse-racing song. lol
Holy crap. I can't... is this really. I mean this compared to its successors isn't even night and day, its the night three days before the next night.
And looks like they weren't decided between Tecno and Techno Soft...
名作の原点が今ここに

TheDemoniusX II-V
V was underrated, but way fun.
Just don't get Perfect System on the PS1. It's better on the Saturn.

SophiaXiaoyu Yup! Good ol Horse-Race Force. Still, this is where the lore and the BEST Genesis/Mega Drive Shmup started.
"Horse-Race Force" hahahahahahaha
That's the music?? Hahaha! Public domain crud. Things got a billion times better with part 2. That's for sure.
Humble beginnings.......m i rite? :P
Nice the game has the same soundtrack to Clockwork Orange
Ah yes Beethoven composed the soundtrack of Clockwork Orange and arranged it for Thunder Force.
Is this version 2 from 1985? Otherwise it could be from before Marble Madness as far as FM synth music goes.
Alianger what ur talking is fm in the arcades , but for home computers it was different you know
dat music (facepalm)
I know, right?
What the fuck? THIS is the original Thunder Force? I'll stick to the Genesis games and Thunder Force V on the PS1 thank you very much.
+Blahblahblah28504 ikr haha I am still waiting for sequel...
That music was rather unexpected 😂
maximum disappointment
Would love to see the ending

@@TheFluBugZ just like Xevious! 💥
Wow......and I thought Thunder Force 2 was archaic.
This game is a piece of shit.
