Thanks for the upload! Most people only post the first intro variation. They threw all the budget into the intro and the soundtrack, completely sacrificing the gameplay. I wonder if Hyakutaro Tsukumo's involvement in this costed him the composer role for the eventual Thunder Force 6 release. The OST for TF6 is so much weaker.
You're welcome! I think both tracks for the intro are great, well worth to be in a video. I honesly don't know what they were thinking with Broken Thunder... a patch was due to be issued at some point but never materialised, I think indeed they ran out of budget, shipped early, got really bad reviews, waves of refund and eventually went bust, shame. The TF6 soundtrack is totally weak and let's the game completely down. I wish we could patch that game with an alternate soundtrack.
@@cdromrom well the final fortress stages in tf6 and and stage 1a are weak in my opinion. Stage 4A music is really good because it captures the stressful vibe of a chaotic orbital assault. and the boss theme for Barbaric Berserk Beast, Flame Maiden, ORN Faust, and Vasteel Nocht is good.
@@cdromrom I think the techno influenced tracks by Go Sato and Kaneko Tsuyoshi are a slight step up. The 4/4 time signature used by thunder force game can get repetitive. I would be impressed if we got a some tracks that are influenced by progressive rock with the whole wah-wah pedal thing going on in the guitar
@@direktexe8436 electric jungle beast (Broken Thunder: Project TF6 version is a good replacement for stage 1a or moon of mind/ cyber cave Hi-mix for the final level). Stage 4a's music is nice but I personally put syrinx's theme when I play play the actual syrinx ship or steel of destiny-take off- for battleship
Man I’d forgotten how rough this game looks. I mean even something as simple as offsetting or randomizing the start of the animation cycle for the rocks in stage 4 was too much for these guys. And the controls look incredibly twitchy. Still, it’s nice to have an entire playthrough of this thing available, if for no other reason than to see how tragic it was.
It's extremely rough, the controls are actually not that bad, but the whole thing lacks any of the refinements of the Thunder Force series, the music and videos are the main saving graces.
thanks for uploading the whole thing, i dont blame you for using cheat engine, its really hard and not in any sort of fun way like the previous games

Actually, Broken Thunder in an UNFINISHED game that the dev just rushed it too far
The Soundtrack are typical Tecnosoft style

Great this perfect for WOL Longplays
Aren’t the bosses suposed to have their unique distinct theme?
Also, the instrumentation seemes defferent in this build (e.g. The Moon stage)
man, that game could've been better.
Tell me about it! Don't think we ever got the ultimate Thunder Force we were hoping for. I like your channel, subscribed!
@@cdromrom huh, didn't expect that, thanks tho!
how did you get the game?
i bought it from eBay a while ago, it came with the soundtrack CD as well.
@@cdromrom oh nice! thanks for telling me I should get the game next time
