The problem with e-vans is the limitations in load. When you load them with batteries you can’t load them with all the stuff I need for work

You are assuming that rapid chargers are always available, unfortunately there is usually a wait whilst one become available or they actually work, bang goes delivery deadlines

I am always saying that you should avoid using public charging wherever possible but do suggest that a boost in the day is possible. DC charging is available both public and can also be deployed in a depot in The larger fleets.

The eVito tourer has a 90Kwh pack option, why not the van version?

Excellent question, it comes down to the choices they make regards Gross Vehicle weight. If they are not willing to push beyond the 3200kg gvw then they would just loose too much payload. They could push if they wished and then it could be brilliant!

My ideal = a non VW electric van that can be turned into a camper. Impressive range on this one to get 170 miles.

I would like to see a camper conversion in this. It would be very cool. It certainly has something the other mid size vans don’t 👍

The id buzz can do 260 miles, blows this van out of the water.

My new e vito only does an average of 135 miles on full charge, using the heater knocks off another 20 miles, how do you get over 160+ on a charge?

So a couple of things first off. Temperature does effect range so expect less in v cold weather. Weather was warm enough when I tested this. Second I did not have weight in the back. More than 400 kgs will start to effect range and last how you drive it makes a difference and also if you are in a hilly area or not, long journeys motorways etc. All make a difference as with a diesel van too. So all that said to say I drove carefully but used the power when needed, played with the regen so didn’t need to brake much. All makes a difference

It's all about range. If Mercedes want to shift these then what will happen when you fit a roof rack, pipe carrier, fill it with tools and carry around all the 'crap' that a tradesman usually does? We're not all pallet delivery drivers.

The roof stuff will certainly reduce range in general but many users of the typoe you describe often do less that 80 miles in a day so this would not impact as long as you can charge overnight.
