We run 4 vans and a lorry. We would love to switch to electric but they just don’t have the range or more importantly carry the weight for us as yet.
    Great review 👍

👍👍👍 I have owned and driven a variety of vans over the years. This one is not a model I would consider. Yes I agree the positioning of the charging port definitely needs to be rethought. Thanks Jim.

Thanks Jim. I've had an assortment of vans down the years, but never a Merc. I'm surprised at how basic it is, particularly an ev, which I'd have thought would have something 'inventive' in there.
    25k yay hay 🤩👌👍

As you said its previous incarnation had a 49Kwh battery and is favoured by the Post Office and only does 88 miles with no heating or air conditioning on. The other problem is that it only had 7Kwh charging. That's fine for local collections and charging overnight but when going for a service or transferred to another depot over 80 miles away sitting on a motorway service station for 5 or 6 hours, and paying for more than the 2 free hours, it becomes very expensive.
At least now they have CCS charging, even if it is in a stupid place.

Can't believe they are still using same handbrake mechanism horrible sound and would have thought quite difficult to get used to if switching brands

162 mile range £40k+ and like all Mercedes commercials will be a pile of rust before the battery runs out 😂 can only be aimed at large courier multi drop fleet companies surely? But even they want to be able to resell later for some return and I can’t see it being popular secondhand 🤔

Yes, I assume they're going for the multi-drop market.

They sorted the rust issues out on the Vito a few years back now …. Mines a 65 plate diesel….. used and abused 7 days a week …. No rust though😮

Thanks for that Jim. I know sod all about vans but it looks a bit primitive for the money, especially for a Merc. If I was a tradesman looking for a van, I'd be concerned about reliability - time will tell!

Thanks for the test. All MB vans look good from the outside but inside they are outdated and it feels really plasticy compare to past top models 120 and 122. Even the most expensive model 119 is the same inside. The middle console design is horrible , still with the key in 2023 and size of the screen is a joke from MB, check Ford or other manufacturers I mean check the VW van inside it looks much better so I'd expect much much more from MB at least from the top models - and you are paying top $.
We are waiting for 2024 model that will have changes inside but MB is not the same quality what it used to be.

Yes, the 2024 needs to play to its badge a bit more.

£ 50k+ , limited range , it will probably be worth half after three years if you’re lucky.
    not for the self employed.
