Cleveland Artist Marc Breed b.1954-d. 2023 (self-portrait, below). Also known as Mark Garguilo Media & "America's Fetish Photographer". He was not solely a fine art photographer, but spoofed the city with his faux events. i.e. 'Cleveland Interracial Foxy Boxing' and 'Retro, the story of burlesque (film project). Notorious, indeed. He would sometimes switch mediums; stepping away cleanly. Like Banksy, he left many of his works for the taking, and shifted through names, with each hint of success. He was also a Mensan!

Generally speaking I don’t apply to things with an entry fee. For some reason I felt compelled to make an exception in this case. I haven’t paid for an entry fee in a number of years. Hopefully the investment will be worthwhile!
How did it work out for you? I wanted to apply for the Hopper prize but eventually gave up, maybe partly because of the entry fee and small number of prizes..

There's no such thing as free money,hard working taxpayers fund this.Whatever happened to personal responsibility for what it takes to live
actually this isnt taxpayer money, it is private foundations (wealthy people) that set up funds for artists to appy to.
