They have so many kinds of songs, and many are just plain awesome. This was later on but he still has the range and passion. For a big time rocking epic from them when they were establishing themselves as a new and great rock band, try Liar from their first album, the boys were really bringing it in those days. Best queen song for me simply amazing timeless classic that never ages remarkable
The stage king
You guys have to watch the performance they did at Live Aid. It's one of the best performances they did and one of their last ones.
The song ‘A Kind Of Magic’ has aged significantly better than the film it was written for - ‘Highlander’.
Feature song from one of my fav' 1980's movies "The Highlander". you guy's are amazing together, love your content and especially your LOTR movie(s) reactions. Keep up the great work.
Speaking of Freddie and Montserrat Cabelle, PLEASE check out The Golden Boy live. You won't believe your ears!!!
You guys talk about Queen as if Brian, Roger and John were just Freddie’s backing band. Queen is not just Freddie.
Queen was going before Freddie appeared on the scene!
@@dannjp75 Not exactly. Roger and Brian were in a band called Smile with Tim Staffell. Smile split up in 1970, then Freddie joined with Roger and Brian to form Queen, a name suggest by Freddie. They had several bass players before settling on John Deacon in 1971.
Every member of Queen was top tier. Deacon, May, and Taylor…all incredible musicians.
They have so many kinds of songs, and many are just plain awesome. This was later on but he still has the range and passion. For a big time rocking epic from them when they were establishing themselves as a new and great rock band, try Liar from their first album, the boys were really bringing it in those days. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Queen are definitely top 3 best bands of all time
You must do its a kind of magic at wembey.......a must see and so much better than the studio version. But you never go wrong with Queen 👑
I agree, the Wembley version is much better
You should check out the original Highlander movie that this song was used in along with several other Queen's songs.
You really need to check out the live version of this song that they did at Wembley in 1986. It is so much better, IMO. Thank you for all the reactions! Take care and have a wonderful evening. You might want to check out "It's Late" by them. It is a hidden gem of theirs that is simply incredible
For strength of voice it has to be Kurgans Theme from the Highlander movie , even Freddie said it was the hardest song he ever sang ..
Freddie rightly gets a ton of people's admiration and amazement at what he does. But it's almost a little bit of a shame that Deacon, May and Taylor who are all superb get lost in the mix a bit.
Another great reaction guys.
I very much agree. To me, we are listening to Queen. Not Freddie Mercury and Queen. Each member of the band brought their own talent to the group. Their playing, their voices (except John) and their composition. They were all equal, without just one of them it wouldn't be Queen.
The first time?...under what rock have you been living all those years. That bass line...
It was National Freddie day on Friday in the UK.
Guys you need to watch you take my breath away (live at Hyde park) by Queen, Freddie's vocals are sublime in that
This song is from the movie Highlander with Sean Connery
Prince's of the universe is another killer song from the same album.
Queen and Freddie Mercury are a wonderful phenomenon.
you are listening to queen the best rock band of all time!
The ultimate showman, Mr Freddie Mercury
I loved the soundtrack to that movie actually You cant buy the soundtrack just the music on like their greatest hits album
FYI: Freddie did'nt get his teeth fixed because he thought it would alter his voice, He's has the most amazing voice, and queen was the best!
“It’s better to burn out than to fade away” .. said by The Kurgan, in the 1986 film Highlander! A Kind Of Magic was written by Roger Taylor for the film. In fact, all members of Queen wrote a song for the soundtrack!! I highly recommend PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE (Freddie) & GIMME THE PRIZE (Brian). 🛡️⚔️🗡️
He was quoting Neil Young.
@@treetopjones737 YES, & the line was used in Def Leppard’s Rock Of Ages!
This song is sooo much better and more powerful when performed Live - and yes, “that bass player” (John Deacon) really does hold down that groove that drives the song.
“A Kind of Magic” was written by drummer Roger Taylor.
My Grandmother absolutely loved Queen, happy memories of them playing over the record player as a kid with my cousins whilst at her house. We even played ‘I want to break free’ at her funeral. Freddie was a legend
Phenomenal Freddie. The songs, vocals are so memorable in the late 70’s into the early 80’s! Great reaction!
..."Class of 76"...RIP Freddie....
I LOVE Queen!!! Never heard this before!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!
You know I remember that weekend in the 80's and the world trying to help Africa! I remember, watching hours upon hours of music and bands and it started at Wimbley Stadium and watching on television the band that made this concert memorable. I bought every Queen cassette and 3 VHS videos of their live concerts! Kind Of Magic has always been a favorite and seeing them perform it in a concert(Live at Budapest, if I remember correctly) was just EPIC!
You guys want to see a weird CULT CLASSIC? Watch “Flash Gordon” (1980). Queen did the entire Score and Soundtrack to it. It’s an experience. It’s based on a character from 1930s film, radio, comic strips.
**Note: Yes I’m well aware song this is from the CULT CLASSIC “Highlander” in which they did the soundtrack
This came out when they did the sound track for the Highlander. so versatile and so talented. They were popular when my kids were teens and we parents didn't really appreciate them. However when I went back to college after age 65 I took a Rock and Roll appreciation class and did my thesis on them. I am a believer now. One of their biggest fans. Freddie would be my age now 77. Love all the band members and miss Deakie.
Best queen song for me and there are many,
this is also one of the best songs ever period
Incredible love this so much and awesome "MEMORIES"
There will never be another Queen..NEVER will there be another Freddie.
Check out the movie Highlander. Queen did the soundtrack and this track started the end credits.
You’ll understand the meaning of “There can be only one”….😊
this version is different from the film version
This is the original version yes, and that used in the end credits very slightly different. But it’s still ‘A kind of magic’ isn’t it……
@@shanesmith7768 yes but its still a different version!
You two need to watch the movie Highlander. This is from the soundtrack of that film. Queen did the entire soundtrack. The story in that film explains the lyrics of the songs they did.
