Marcus! You saved my golfing hobby. I played golf when I was younger and didn't seem nearly as hard as it is now that I'm am older. Been struggling for nearly 2 years to find a functional golf swing. The main culprit has been the weight transfer. No matter what I did, I was unable to initiate or identify what is considered to be the primary movement and foundational function of the golf swing. Yesterday, I was so close to giving up after giving so much failed effort and time trying to achieve my goals. When you said it's like walking, I was like, what? Then you said you fall into each step, and you have to trust (A leap of faith). IT FINALLY CLICKED! It feels to me like I'm falling even before my back swing is finished. I let myself fall towards the target while rotating and initiating the downswing. Bingo! Start that sooner than later and CONTACT! No fixing swing faults because if you let it flow, everything falls into place. Thank you Marcus! You have Given me a GOlF swing!
I played a round yesterday with a "golf coach." He told me that only players who are handicap 2 or better should play x-stiff golf shafts. He said it doesn't matter how fast you swing. Showed him my 3 wood with x-stiff shaft and proceded to hit a 281 yard tee shot straight down the fairway 😂
More flexibility means more speed and less control. I think the general sentiment expressed by the "coach" is true in the sense that most amateurs should play with the most flexible shaft that they can control. This will improve clubhead speed for those who don't swing at professional levels. Sure, the pros on TV use XS, but it's to stabilize the face at high speeds. They don't need extra speed they need control to compete. Long drivers will use the regular flex because they want the extra speed, and they're willing to sacrifice control. So six of one, a half-dozen of the other, right? Congrats on your fantastic 3 wood shot btw.
@jeffmartinez262 there are more factors that go into a handicap other than how far or accurately you hit a driver or 3 wood. One is not dependent on the other. I currently sit at 8.3. Have shot mid 70s hitting fairways and driving the ball 300 yards. Shot the same score hitting it 250 yards and only hitting 32% short grass. If your short game and putting is on, then you can miss more. BtW, my driver swing speed is average 108 mph now
@Marcus, Are you saying we have to exaggerate what seems visually like a strong sway, a huge lateral movement and the squat, in order to get the real feeling of twisting into the feet, instead of dropping and popping? When I look at people I play with, that hit it far, I struggle to one, find these elements and two, wonder how I am integrating these practice drills (drop/pop and shoulder rocking back and forth in the wrecking ball and had sway) such that they are transparent on my side too. Complicated question, but I've watched literally a video a day for the last few months and I am geting a lot out of your videos. I get it, but then I'll bump into someone who knows nothing about drop and pop, etc. and they hit seemingly very efficiently and comment on my body being all over the place. I should be patient and hold to these drills until they become automatic, OR, am I missing something?
We need to have a quick chat just to clear these up. A lot of the moves you practice in the training aren't visible in the golf swing as they are components which produce an overall net result which appears as the golf swing. It sounds like you're either over exaggerating or trying to copy the exercises explicitly in the golf swing. Let's have a call 👍

Another great lesson Marcus, truly amazing how you free up players to realize their golf potential, thank you !
Looks like you have switched the force plate tool you use. Why the switch?
That is such a great way to swing a club. Like body is doing opposite of the mass
Absolutely, counter weight.
Body leads to create the lag…..
great video. I've got a lesson next week and I'll be very disappointed if its nothing like this hahaha

@@GRFGolfthanks Marcus. I’ll take you on that.
it's the arms that swing the club...wish more instructors would focus on swinging the clubhead with arms.
Club doesn't move without arms being involved. Movement awareness is key 👍
I've had students who really struggle with this little shot. Slow and short, don't give up till you get it. "Hold on to your hat!" 😂
