  • GRF Golf Head Coach Marcus goes through a few drills and exercises with Mike to allow him to experience what starting his downswing (while the golf club is actually still swinging back) felt like specially and temporally. Huge thanks to Mike for letting us share his GRF Golf lesson experience with you guys!

@Marcus, I'm preparing for our upcoming lesson and struggling with two messages, seemingly contradictory.
In some of your videos, you talk about pushing down on the board and extending, using the banging of the board as feedback. Here (from 2:20), you show your student squatting in order to push down the board. Is the board going down because I squat or because I extend? What's the difference between the two points of view? Is it just the difference between with the rotating disks and the board alone, for example?
For context end to end: on 1, I extend on the left to build up the club momentum; on 2, I squat (with or without banging the board?) and extend for my backswing; on 3, I squat (with or without banging the board?); and on 4, I extend on the left for the downswing? Is this right?

Does anyone get pain in the lead knee when moving into the lead side? Wondering if it’s a technique thing or coincidental.

Stretch out your legs before around the knees. The patela needs to be unrestrained. I find a lunge type stretch is better.
